Excellent car wash but it's a bit short time-wise. Makes you wonder if you're getting your money's worth. Also you have to align your tire onto the track that automatically pulls your car. I always worry that will scratch my wheels and/or put my steering wheel out of alignment. read more

Well, my car is cleaner... but there's still dirt on the back and some brown streaks. Granted, I drove about 20 miles on a dirt road and my car was filthier than I've ever seen it, but I figured a $14 wash would at least get it all off. If I had taken it someplace where a human being touches it up after the wash then this would have been caught before I left the lot--not when I got home. Lesson learned. read more

So we went to Alberta Canada for Vacay and decided to drive out there...not a bad drive about 10 hours...across some beautiful country and some crazy snowy passes....Well as you could probably guess the Xterrra was trashed!!! Dirty as all-get-out and the smell of funk...ouch....So we rolled back into Seattle and had to do something about the mess....Rolled into Brown Bear and went thru the wash...Out came the truck Squeaky Clean...and they even dry your hood and windows! I couldn't believe how clean my car was and I didn't even buy the most expensive wash. For 20 bucks my car looked wonderful. They really know what they are doing. Fifteen bucks shitty wash, I watched others get some preemptive scrubbing but all the dropouts disappeared when I pulled up and were nowhere to be found when I needed to complain about all the dirt left. Called they did offer to rewash but seeing as it was just waxed I don't see that being very effective. I just wanted a refund. read more

This place is GREAT when you have a free coupon from one of their many sources of discounts (such as Seattle City Light's quarterly mailer)! They even let me go through twice to remove even more of the bugs crusted on my hood. The basic wash is as good as anything you'll see at any other car wash. This is my go to car wash. While it isn't the best in the city, the price can't be beat and it's pretty good! I usually will go to the Chevron to fuel up and get the $1 off price with the code on the receipt. This makes it easier and saves a buck on any of the washes. The car wash itself does a good job. I tend to get "Beary Good" which is the middle level wash. It gets the car as clean as can be expected from a drive through - nicely cleaning all exposed surfaces. Door jambs and tight spots may need more attention with a rag though. They also have coin operated vacuums that work very well. They provide all the suction you need to get the dirt out of your interior. This is where I went after our car was broken into to clean up the shattered glass and it worked well. Overall, Brown Bear is a great choice when you need on the go car cleaning at a reasonable price. read more

Toyota gives me a free Brown Bear wash coupon every time I have my car serviced and I like this car wash for that reason, and because the guy who cursorily passes a soapy brush over the car is friendly. But there's little else to praise. Oh, the payment system allows you to stay in the car, unlike at the Lake City Way Bigfoot, where you walk inside. Still, the hard fact is: every other car wash I've gone to, including the automated Costco system that has no human beings whatsoever, has cleaned the car better. Which is the whole point. For example, the Bigfoot on Lake City Way is amazingly good and I didn't even know that until I had a basis for comparison with Brown Bear. At Bigfoot, two guys scrub the car before it goes in, one guy hand-dries it when it comes out, and I use the towel they provide to remove dust on the inside while I ride through. The car glistens when it's done and that's not even the priciest option! If the Brown Bear coupon for the cheapest option were not free, you wouldn't find me going there at all and I'm sorry that's true because it's close to home, there's rarely a long line, and the one guy who welcomes you is nice. read more

Efficient and convenient car was on 15th ave in the Interbay neighborhood. It is connected to a Chevron gas station so you can get two things done at once. Don't forget to look out for $2 and $3 off coupons on the back of your QFC receipts. Not a huge discount but a discount nonetheless. I like that they mop the back window before you head into the wash. I don't think they're as thorough as they could be but I'm glad they take the time to try. They need more clean towels and I wish you got more than, I think, two minutes for the vacuum. read more

Found out about this spot by some lazy friends and decided to test it out because what do I have to loose? Anyways, When I pulled up there were a few empty kiosks so I drove up and chose the Beary Bright option which was $11 and some tax change. It took about a minute for the gate to lift because it said they were busy but at the end of the day I was very pleased with how clean it got my car. Literally as if I just bought the car off the lot. Although, I was disappointed however with the scratches it left on my car. I noticed when I got home there were a few located in different places. I don't know about y'all but since it did such an amazing job cleaning my car. I think I'll be generous enough and give them the benefit of the doubt, buff the scratches and give it another chance one day. read more

Great carwash, great people. After the other place I went to recently, Elephant Car Wash or whatever it is called,doing such a terrible job, I was hesitant as to what to expect from another downtown car wash. This place is awesome. I was confused how to pull into the stall and pay and did not understand if I was supposed to stay in my car (I am new okay!) and Scott who works there walked me through the whole process. He walked out to my car, walked with me and my car as I drove and even pre hosed down some muck in my wheel wells for me. He was extremely concerned that I was well taken care of and he was just awesome. People can make such a difference in your experience. I have a new car and wanted to know there was a good wash around that I could rely on. Now I have found it and the service was so great and unexpected. Comparing Brown Bear to shitty Elephant Car wash is like comparing Capital Grill steak to McDonalds. One is outstanding and the other absolutely sucks. Thanks Brown Bear! read more

There's no change machine for quarters to use their vacuums. That's not very convenient to their potential customers.

Friendly cashier and decent automated car wash. Some spots of very sticky tree sap remained that I would not expect any general car wash to remove. When I was at the vacuum area, the manager (also very friendly) noticed I was cleaning up a few of these spots and came out with some heavy duty spot remover and must have spent ten minutes helping me. Brown Bear Car Wash is the king of automaic car washes with an extra staff touch. The machine does a great job of cleaning my entire vehicle. It's a bit more expensive that gas station car washes but well worth the price. The line kept moving so you know it's popular and fast. read more
