This meal was so bad, we threw most of it away. Let's start out by saying the grease the food was fried in needs to be changed, the chicken flavor was nasty. Some of the chicken was from the previous day, I know, because I went to culinary school and I know food! The cole slaw was so dry, because there was barely any mayo in it, not to mention a large order of slaw was almost $8. The fries were dried out, not to mention the price of $7.99 for a large fry. It's obvious they are trying to cut corners any way they can,at the customers expense. This was the last time I got taken advantage of by the. It's Popeyes or Harolds chicken chicken from now on. I love Brown's Chicken and what better way to celebrate my 100th review than to review my local Brown's location. I love their original recipe chicken but recently tried their spicy blend. They mix spices into the coating of the chicken and it gives it a real nice bite. I bought a 10 piece deal with two sides to take home to the family. I also picked up some of their corn fritters and fried okra. Both of these last items are great tasting. They've also got fried mushrooms, mac n cheese, french fries, and some other things I'm sure I am forgetting. In short, if you want side orders they have you covered. They've introduced Italian beef and hot dogs over the years too, which is a nice change of pace sometimes and they do a great job of those too. We've never had a bad experience here with the chicken or service. I do agree that the Mac is tasteless - according to my daughter but honestly, that's often the case with any fast food Mac & Cheese. We generally get white meat chicken and fries, gravy and mash. The gravy and mash is good but the fries and chicken are as I have always enjoyed since I was a kid - perfect. Last two times we stopped in on the way home from soccer - the Manager or Owner chatted with us at the window about out dog (in the car) and soccer - super friendly and never a problem. read more

Decided to try Browns again. Was not a good experience. Fried chicken was not great, seemed like it may have been reheated or fried a second time. The fried mushrooms were chewy. The gravy was extremely salty, like they did not add enough water to their mix. Biscuits were small and spongy. Lastly, the corn on the cob was absolutely terrible. More expensive than Popeyes. Not nearly as good. Unfortunately will probably never go back to Browns. read more

This place is worth visiting! Their chicken was phenomenal and quality. It is crispy and flavorful. They also have coleslaw, salad, pasta, chicken sandwich, burger, fries, and others. You can absolutely find everything you want here and all the food that can satisfy your cravings. Their menu is wide and full of affordable offers. Good place for a quick breakfast, brunch, or even lunch. They also have a drive-thru for all those people who has a car and want to get their food quickly. Very convenient and enjoyable place. The whole place is organized, wide, bright, and so clean. They maintained the place so well. They have plenty of tables and chairs. Enough for a few numbers of customers they have every other day. The vibe inside the place is really nice and relaxing. The lights are dim and it gives an awesome vibe to the whole place. At night, the outside of the place is amazingly bright and they have some neon lights. Brown's Chicken is definitely a gem! Their location is very accessible and you can easily visit them. They are one of the popular spots here in this area of Dundee. Lots of their customers keep coming back here and ordering their famous Chicken. What a perfect place! Most reviews are outdated. I've gone here several times over the last few years and was there just yesterday. I live fairly far away so make it a point to get my Brown's when I can. The place has been under new management since most of the negative reviews. The livers I had were perfect, the chicken and tenders crisp outside and juicy inside, and the fries were excellent. Horrible experience. This is a franchise and Rosalinda is the owner. I dealt with her personally. I drove 45 minutes round trip to get home, notice some extremely dark, over crispy, old dirty oil tasting chicken. I bought two 8pc meals. So 16 total. When I called her she said if I didn't have all 16 pieces there was nothing she would do. My daughter threw up that evening. Called corporate Monday (since this happened fri night 12 11 15). Nothing they could do since it's a franchise. Rosalinda had a horrible attitude, horrible customer service, ignorantly hung up on my phone call Monday when I called her a 2nd time. And I live in downtown Chicago and just happen to be in the area. I am so glad I stopped in because it was quite possibly the best fried chicken ever had. The service was amazing and the chicken was unbelievable. I order the fried mushrooms and I will probably end up needing to drive all the way back here because I will never find fried mushrooms as good. I went to Brown's chicken on Valentines day this year because my wife wanted to spend the night curled up on the sofa watching Netflix and eating their awesome fried Mushrooms. I decided to get their 8pc chicken and asked for a breast instead of a thigh. They remembered to charge me for it, but when I got home and we set up our tables in from of the t.v. an all ready to eat we noticed that their was no extra breast. We should've read the other yelp reviews before visiting this store. While we always purchase a couple of trays of chicken from Brown's, our normal store suffered a power outage, leaving this East Dundee Brown's Chicken as our only option. Just like the other reviews, the chicken was severely overlooked. Very dry, tough, and difficult to chew, most of the guests didn't even finish one piece of chicken. We wound up throwing away 3/4 of our order. When we told the East Dundee Brown's of the condition of the chicken they sold us, the store manager was defiant stating we must have done something to the chicken as "it looked ok when it left the store". When we offered to bring in the chicken for the manager to see, the East Dundee manager became agitated over the phone, refusing to let us come back with the chicken, refusing to release the manager's name, again stating it was our fault for the chicken's condition, and flat out stating no reimbursement would be allowed. After speaking with some of the locals in the East Dundee area, apparently this is a pattern of business for this store. While we enjoy Brown's chicken, the fact that their corporate office continually allows this type of product and service to be offered through one of its stores has seriously damaged our faith and loyalty to this chain. read more

When i was a kid, Browns was the best. Now, its just a sad shell of what it used to be. I ordered a 3 piece of regular chicken, a order of hot wings, and some cole slaw.
