So, it's that time in our lives that we are looking to start the money pit aka kitchen renovation…read more We've been in our house for a few years now, we're finally settled, paid off our cars so we have a few extra bucks. IKEA was the first place we thought of for inspiration. We were surprised at the color scheme we looked at and liked. We were attracted to the blue cabinets or the olive green cabinets as they would look good with our dark floors. An ask for countertops, I don't want lament as it won't hold it's shape. I like the glass composite countertops as they look more sturdy. We were surprised that they sell stoves, ovens, and microwaves. We thought they would be dummy's like the TVs are. I question the quality and longevity of IKEAs kitchens. They mostly show the lament kitchen tops. It's much cheaper then the composite glass, but I doubt they will last as long. I found the sink style I like. We have water outflow issues with our sink and facet, so I found a set in sink that I liked, no lip that goes over the countertops. With the countertops questionable longevity, now I question the cupboards quality and longevity. You have to give them props for being reusable price, I just don't want it to wear out. In the end we are thinking that the cost will be around $15,000 including instulation. I'm thinking more like $20,000 as things always cost more than you expect them to. Our next stop will be local hardware stores to check out their offerings. We really like IKEA's set up and displays. They are so realistic with the walls and all, it makes you feel like you are walking into a real kitchen unlike the hardware stores where you are just looking at the counties tops and cupboards. One things we observed with IKEA is they have lots of stark white cabinets. They brighten the room, but stark white against dark brown floors woudld be doo much of a contrast. And reminds me of the black and white high contrast baby books they make for tummy time. A little too contrasty for me. So, here we are looking at an investment as ours is still functional so there really isn't a rush. My husband has a point, let's spread out our large purchases over the years and not do everything at once. This year will possibly be the kitchen. Next year will be painting the house. And there is a good possibility of doing the ac and heating units. Last month was the fridge. And a few years back it was the washer and a few months after that it was the dryer. So in the end everything is pretty much spread out. Oh, don't forget the dishwasher and around 5 years ago it was the dishwasher and hot tub. The good news we're not in debt.

I'm feel like I'm very frequently eating at IKEA...it's just super convenient. I haven't liked…read moreeverything I've eaten here for lunch/dinner, but I just love getting breakfast from here for some reason. (It's only served for an hour in the mornings, and they'll run out when they get closer to the end of the hour.) I typically get their medium breakfast (served with scrambled eggs, potatoes, Swedish pancakes, lingonberry jam, and bacon). I was sad when their breakfast switched from the waffle to the pancakes, but I've since adjusted to the change. Lunch/dinner is not the greatest tasting of meals, but it's not bad. I personally think the cod, salmon, and meatballs are decent. I do not care for the falafels or plant balls. It's a large open dining area, like a cafeteria. Self-serve utensils are located near the drink dispenser Sometimes the lines are outrageously long, so I don't bother during those occasions. I'm glad it's here though. When you get tired from wandering through the IKEA maze, it's nice to have a spot to grab a quick bite to eat.

I don't remember this restaurant being this filthy…read more The floors were sticky. Most tables were not cleaned up. The soda and ice machines were not working. There was only water and coffee available. You grab a tray and get in line like you're getting school lunch. The Swedish meatballs are the star of the show. It's very good for what it is. My kids love eating here. I'd rather spend my money at the Costco food court lol. I only come here about once a year. It's a good place to eat after walking around the IKEA maze of furniture. Just be prepared to only find dirty tables.

I am a repeat customer because I trust the products and I trust Ramesh and the sales guys there…read more This time I purchased a new mattress during the Labor Day weekend. Great prices. My questions were answered and because of that I got the best mattress for me. It was delivered and my old very soft mattress taken away. I LOVE this very firm Stearns & Foster mattress purchased. Honestly the current pictures here don't even do them justice, trust me guys it does not look bad…read morein there, its bright and organized and clean. I wish i took more pictures but i forgot! I was initially sketched out by the area but, if i can go in there by myself no problem, you can too hahaha. Anyway, i decided that i want to get a new bed, so i went looking on Sunday. I have been eyeing one that i saw with Costco online but wanted to see how it felt, so i actually went to Ashley's furniture first. Of course, once you walk into that, you are like a piece of meat with a bunch of prey around you. Soon they send someone to follow u around for your whole visit... i hate that. i kept telling the sales guy im poor and dont follow me. hahahaha anyway. it is NOT like that here AT ALL! So i came in, and they just kinda nodded and said hi, and i just went looking by myself. At this point there was only one other family here, so they totally have the capacity to help me but they just kinda let me chill for a bit. THANK YOU. but as i was leaving one of the guys told me there are clearance mattresses that i haven't looked at yet. so i was like wow how did u know that is what i needed. Well, they have pretty good mattresses on clearance tbh, and they are quite affordable for good mattresses. i got a nice serta one for a good price. and they are NOT PUSHY AT ALL. they just answer whatever questions you have and encourage you to just try it. like the other reviews, they will also work with your budget, so i think you can be honest with what you have to work with, also, remember to negotiate! My mattress is getting delivered on Saturday so i'm super excited! I can't say for sure you can find what you need here, but if you are on a budget, you should definitely stop by.
