This company did a horrible job. They were rushing, stained my wall and sofa. Didn't put things where I wanted. I will never use them again.

Typically I don't take the time to leave reviews but this is necessary. I have never been so pleased, with a move. Abruptly halfway through the move I had to go to work and when I got back to my new place everything was set up exactly as if I've done it myself after everything was in such a clutter I can't believe they knew where to put everything. I normally wouldn't go out of my way to write a bad review, but I wouldn't wish a bad moving experience upon others. I'd appreciate if someone helped me avoid that, so I'm doing my part with this review. I like to support small local businesses. From that, I gave Browns Moving & Storage a chance, despite some initial concerns. Looking back on it, that was a mistake. - Owner of the "business" cannot provide an official business license. Perhaps his business license is expired. Perhaps he wants the customer to have no course of action if their belongings end up damaged or missing. He simply said "providing business information puts me at risk - Business owner unwilling to show his drivers license. Owner stated he would provide his drivers licese the day of the move. On the day of the move he refused to provide this. Said he is worried of his identify being stolen. Doesn't acknowlege that this is a reasonable request to know who his handling customers valuable possessions. Surprised that he refuses to provide any form of identifications on the day of the move, I simply have him proceed, as we had to be out of the house on that very day. The moving process: The day before the move, Mr. Brown tells me that he will show up at 8-8:30am. At 8:30am, he texted me saying that his truck wont start. Upon speaking to the independent contractor he sent to do the job, it was revealed that he called his contractor THE DAY BEFORE, said he needed him to fix his truck, then do this move for him. The owner's truck not working was known about the day before, but he informs me on moving day... At 10:45am (2.5 hours late) Browns Movers have 2 idependent contractors show up (one of them was his truck mechanic). These two workers did a fine job. I have no issues with how the independent contractors handled the moving process. However, before driving the truck from our previous house to our new house, the mechanic says he needs to work on the transmission before making the drive. *From this, 50 minutes were spent fixing the owner's broken down truck.* When the movers were getting everything in, a couple pieces of furniture were damaged, and some damage was done to the walls. I acknowlege things like this happen, and was accepting of the small credit provided for these accidents. For payment, the owner of the "business" only accepts cash. So I cash app him 8 hours of labor/commuting (rounded up from 7.5 hours) + an extra $120 for travel. Shortly after leaving, the owner has his contractors turn around and come back to my house. The owner is on the phone demanding I pay him more. - He wanted we to pay for time his mechanic spent fixing his transmission. - He wanted me to pay him for the credits I was given for the damages caused to the furniture/house. Said to pay him right then, and we would later have everything fixed LATER. I had little reason to believe him at this point, so I declined that arrangement. In the end, I paid exactly what was written on our contract. I don't appreciate the "business" owner hiding his identity, showing up 2.5 hours late, then forcing his contractors to remain at my house while he attmpted to bully me to pay money that was different than our signed contract. I support local businesses, but I will take this as a lesson. My next move will go with a more trusted service, over a man with a truck and a cash app account. I encourage the owner to take this as a lesson for better practices. read more

The worst experience ever. They broke multiple of my furniture. At first she said that he was going to reimburse me for the damages, he said he doesn't deny that there are damages but then he refused to keep by his word to reimburse me for the damages made. I would not recommend or use them for any reason. Again, the worst experience ever and have damaged property. read more

The movers are absolute beasts. Our moving team was amazing, they handled our killer stairs like bosses, and overall went above and beyond. Not one glass item was damaged, no issues at all. Could not have been more impressed by their work ethic and physical ability - especially on such a hot summer day. The business owner could use some organization and communication skills. Not sure if the team even knew he told us they would arrive at 9am - they arrived at 10am. Apparently the business only accepts cash, which the owner failed to inform us of, even when I asked how and when we pay him. As a result, our poor movers had to wait at our place while I ran out to grab cash from the bank - thank god there is one close by because it was almost 5pm! No one carries $500+ in cash, and I know our movers were ready to go home after a long day of hard labor! All in all, if I could recommend the individual moving team privately, I would. They are worth every penny, and you will be hard pressed to find a more efficient and hard working team. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I could recommend the business due to the disorganization and lack of communication of the business owner. Hopefully they are able to resolve these issues in house for future customers! Also, it wouldn't hurt the owner to be a little more friendly over the phone and during any other interactions. With so many moving companies to choose from, customer service is a definite must. read more

We contacted Brown Moving and Storage to give us a quote on a large, relatively complicated move. He and his crew worked hard, carefully and tirelessly. They went the extra mile and I doubt that you will find a more honorable, hard working company to do the job for you. On top of that you will find that his pricing is fair, honest and competitive. We hired Browns to move us from our 2,700 square-foot rental into a multi-level home. Rich and Mike worked as hard as they could, were meticulous about wrapping and moving our furniture, and were friendly and courteous--but they weren't prepared for such a big moving job. The truck they brought was too small, and they had to make two trips. It took 10 hours to complete the move, and at about 10:00 at night they kinda wore out and left boxes stacked in the dining room instead of putting them in the correct rooms. If I was moving a small home or office, I would use Browns again in a minute because they worked themselves sick and did their absolute best work for us, but they're simply not equipped for a large-scale move. read more

My family moved from a 4-bedroom, 3200 square foot home in which most of our things went to storage, but a lot went to our rental home. Brown's Moving &Storage was very good about planning the logistics of that move. We have big furniture pieces and I am very satisfied with the way in which Brown's treated all of our things as if they were their own. They wrapped all of the pieces in blankets and cellophane and moved us with care and diligence. When an incident occurred that damaged the wall, Richard Brown covered the expenses of the repair immediately. We sold our house pretty quickly and, unfortunately, had to move in to a home until ours is built so we have to move twice. Fortunately, Brown's Moving and Storage is affordable and based on our experience, we'd use them again so the second move is all set and planned. My only recommendation is to request a walk-through prior to the move so that Richard Brown can assess how much stuff you have and how long the moving job will take. read more

Company was recommended by a Errand Girl client. Very nice guys and handled all our furniture very professionally. We had a 1 bedroom and only big furniture needing to be loaded from our 3rd floor apartment; took 3 1/2 hrs. They wrapped everything, had supplies handy, and charged for supplies to the service charges. Using Plastic wrap, the workers should have their own box cutters. We had to find ours through our boxed items to more efficiently unwrap. Unloaded pretty quick. But did Knock over our Mailbox leaving. read more

They have the best organizational skills and take care of all your needs, especially those fragile and heavy items. They have the best Dolly's and more. They can wrap, pack and stack your items in a great professional way. Not only do they go above and beyond but their prices are the best too.
