This is the only place in town that we take our vehicles when they need exhaust work done. They will bend pipe, weld, etc. It is first come first serve. You can't make an appointment. That being said they can usually give you an estimate of how long your wait might be. Don't expect a luxurious waiting room. The waiting room is BASIC. It was probably last remodeled in 1985. There is a single bathroom, a few chairs and a vending machine. If you are lucky the tv will be on and tuned to a local station. There is no coffee machine, free waters or any other deluxe accommodations. However, your car will be fixed in a professional, timely and reasonably priced manner. Bring a book and a little bit of patience if you have a couple customers in front of you. I had three people in front of me today and was out the door in a little over an hour. My husband's car a couple weeks ago was a similar wait that day. read more

I normally have no issues because I always get good service from Ralph's. I went in last week to have an egr valve install. Bruce also installed the egr tube, which I appreciated. What I did not appreciate was having my engine cover stolen and then being lied to about it when the service was done. I'll take my car to Ralph's again, but not to the Keystone location. The egr tube install was free, but now I'm out about $80, because I have to buy another engine cover. read more

Took my car in expecting to need a full new muffler system. Turned out just a broken rear flex flange. They repaired in a timely fashion and the car sounds great. I can hear the engine and the radio again. Very courteous staff. I will use them again for other repairs. read more

My wife and I took our Toyota Tacoma to RALPH's and they said that we needed a new Catalytic Converter. They replaced it with an off-brand converter. We have a very low mileage car. We moved to California, and the mechanics here told us that due to the low miles of our car, there was no way that the converter had to be replaced in Indianapolis. They told us that this was a scam. Now I have to take my car to have it smog tested every year because my truck does not have the original converter on it. Shame on RAPLH'S. Don't waste your money on them. read more

I walked out in disgust since I was actually the 2nd person there that morning and your employee should have honored that. Your shop is very close to where I live, but I had a much better experience going to a different Ralph's much farther away. Will go there again! You just lost a repeat customer multiple times who has no interest in ever returning to your business. I took the advice of a friend and came here from Greenwood to have my brakes worked on and I'm glad I did. While not in a great location, these guys really know their stuff and won't try to sell you something you don't need. I had the brakes replaced on all 4 wheels. Discs, rotors and pads and the cost was $550. Considerably less than I had been told at other repair shops. The only downsides to this place is that they don't take appointments so it's first come first served and the waiting room isn't a place to want to spend all day in...but boy it was worth it to go here. read more

I am sorry to say I paid $85 for muffler repair twice in three months only to have the muffler fall off while I was driving.

I hate leaving negative reviews I try to leave something positive because I know people avoid places based of negative feedback. But this is bad. I've trusted Ralph's with my cars before they are fast, reasonably priced, and it worked. This Tim was different. I brought my truck in with a request to have the 02 sensor ports fixed. The guy seems like he wasn't listening to me so I had a bad feeling already. When I left he ran out to a car. When I got my bike off my truck to ride home all I could smell was weed from the car. Then they said it would be done that day. At 445 I called to ask and they said it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow because it took them so long to find out what needed to be done (I asked for a specific job). Then I picked it up. It seems quieter but the welds looked horrible. I asked the guy at the counter if it leaked can I bring it back because the welds did not penetrate. He challenged me very aggressively and told me it would not leak. I was not comfortable in the room with the person I was dealing with. Sure enough it leaked. I sent a picture of the welds to my friend who is an instructor at Ivy Tech he teaches welding. He said he would not pass those welds. See the pictures. I brought it back today and I cannot tell when they did. The welds have not improved. When I walked in they handed me my key and didn't say anything. Will never come back. Be careful. Check their work if you go. At least this isn't something that could fail and hurt me. I paid $300 for very low quality work. read more

Well I just spent $650 here in brakes, rotors, and calipers and didn't get so much as a "Thanks for the business, hope to see you again." The jerk behind the counter just took my two weeks of pay in exchange for his two hours of hard labor and $200 in parts, handed me a receipt and turned and walked out the door without any explanation of the service he had just performed. I hope I don't need to get any more brakes serviced in the near future but I will sleep easily knowing there are DOZENS of other places in my area to get them done. I will NEVER be coming back here. read more

GREAT service! Some of you may be like me, where the only car maintenance knowledge you have is which side of the car your gas tank is. So when my car started to sound like it was racing down the Motor Speedway I called up a local mechanic who referred me to Ralph's. He told me they'd get it done quickly, do a good job and not overcharge me. Sounded too goo to be true, but it wasn't! I called first, on a Saturday morning, to see if I needed an appointment. No appointment necessary. I took it in, and had it taken back, was given an estimate and had the work done within an hour. They guy working on my car even took me into the garage to show me what was wrong with my car, which I really appreciated (even though I had NO idea what I was looking at). As a woman who knows nothing about cars, I am always wary about taking my car to get serviced, but I didn't feel swindled here. I needed my brakes looked at, via last-minute walk-in on a busy Saturday morning. The building was a little old-school, but the staff were friendly and did not pressure or talk down to me (as some auto mechanics do). I waited 3 hours, but again...walk-in...and it showed how popular the place was to already have a full docket at 8 AM. TV and vending machines were available, and I didn't get a chance to check out the bathroom. I ended up getting my brake pads replaced at a very reasonable price, and Ralph's customer service helped alleviate my automobile anxieties...you couldn't ask for much better. read more

I dropped my car off before breakfast and got the word it was done before I'd finished my eggs. You can't get speedier service than that! Ralph's is first come, first serve. I dropped off my '94 Honda at about 9:30 on a Saturday (they're open 'til 1 pm on Saturdays). Twenty minutes later I got the call that I needed a new catalytic converter and a muffler. The work was complete a short time later and I was told I'd gotten a fair price by someone who is way more knowledgeable about cars than I. Everyone at Ralph's was polite and my car now seems to be in ship-shape. I'm never super psyched when I have to take my car in but if the experience is as painless as it was at Ralph's, then it's really not so bad. read more

Just let me say i won't be spending anymore of my time or money @ Ralph's Muffler Shop. After half completing a strut job on my 2006 Sonata i continued to hear the same noises after spending 6 hrs. @ this Keystone location to get the issue fixed originally. I took the vehicle to Pep Boys for a second opinion, much to my amazement only one of the strut mounts were replaced. @ this point I took off work to return the Ralph's @7:45am...It's now 3:45pm I'm sitting here waiting hopelessly, pissed to say the least! #1LostCustomer read more

We were noticing a burning smell in my wife's car and the engine light came on indicating a possible issue with the exhaust system. When I took it to Ralph's they told me that I had bad front convertor and the flex pipe needed to be replaced. I told them to go ahead and do the work. After the work was completed the engine light came back on within a couple of days indicating the same issue we had before. We also noticed the smell of burning oil. When we took it back to Ralph's the mechanic that was on shift working told us that the initial source of the problem was oil leakage and may not have been the convertor itself. When I looked under the car with the mechanic there was quite a bit of oil leaking onto the convertor and it had already turned it purple . When I questioned the manager (who did the original diagnosis and work) he told me that he did not notice the dripping oil and denied fault. Ralph's had charged us $1,067 to replace the convertor and the flex pipe. This was work that may not have needed to be done in the first place. The only advice I was given by Jerry (the manager) was to take the car to a dealership and address the source of the oil leakage. No offer to absorb at least part of the expense. I am very disappointed - be warned. read more

I've tried to have them repair the faulty suspension work they done three times, unsuccessfully. It appears the fasteners (nuts, bolts, etc) used to affix the struts were either applied incorrectly the first time, or the wrong types were used. The fasteners continue to come loose from simply driving. This is not a mystery fix that has to be diagnosed through deep investigation. I had to have another shop finally fix the loose connections. Simple exhaust fixes may be okay here, but anything past that is beyond their ken. The savings in cost ends up not bearing out in the eventual loss of time. read more

I had a simple flex pipe replacement, but was in and out in an hour, including wait time. Almost too easy of a transaction. I'm going to begin by addressing the old adage that women are "taken advantage of" at any type of mechanic shop. This seems to be a general thought when MEN are beloved to be ( pounding the chest ) far superior and are unable to be taken advantage of because of their "superior" mentality and testosterone when it comes to mechanical endeavors. This is definitely not the case here. My wife's vehicle recently started to make some sort of exhaust noise and it was getting louder by the day. Seeing that my son and I are "THE MEN" and we should be the ones taking care of this issue and just haven't found or made the time to do the Manly thing of either fixing it or taking it to the shop where we could point out exactly what we thought was wrong to our "mechanically mental equal" at the shop, my wife took it upon herself to bring her vehicle here to be looked at. The thoughts of thousand dollar bills be incurred by her ( as we perceived as the MEN) less than knowledgeable understanding began to ring in my head as I scurried to text her to let them know that my son and I thought it may just be a manifold gasket and should be a simple fix at only a hundred dollars or so. Even that being said the thoughts permeated my brain and made me think, oh shit what if they take advantage and we end up with some sort of crazy bill. It was quite the opposite, as I found out a few hours later. All the thoughts and horrors that we hear about women being taken advantage of because of their perceived lesser knowledge had been cleared when I received the call that we, my son and I ( THE MEN) were correct and it would only be a $125 charge for the manifold gasket replacement. Well the story doesn't end here. A couple of hours later I find out that these wonderful gentlemen at Ralph's had diagnosed it was a manifold gasket noise, but that it didn't even need to be changed and that it was just a loose bolt that needed to be tightened and at that point even refused to charge a penny for the diagnosis and repair stating that they were sorry it took so long. I'll tell you this, as a MAN I never thought I would ever see the day. They could have easily said they repaired everything and charged the full amount but the honesty and integrity of these guys goes above and beyond because they even corrected a few other small issues at no charge. I will tell this story to everyone I know who has an exhaust issue from now on and let them know that rest assured you are in good hands with the honest people here at Ralph's on keystone. read more

I've used Ralph's most of my adult life. There have been times when they have sent me to the dealer, as they felt they couldn't do the work. I've always appreciated their honesty. They haven't had a history of doing things for the sake of money. My most recent experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. My car was making a clicking sound before starting, but always started. I took it to Ralph's immediately. The technician working on my car said it was the starter. He said that it's hard to detect a bad starter, but all signs led to the starter. So, I had it replaced. He brought it into me telling me that you can't tell or see when a starter is bad. He later said that if indeed it's not the starter, perhaps it is a problem with the wiring. My car started the clicking again, just hours later. It was doing the exact same thing it was doing before my starter was changed. I then found out that you can indeed test the starter to see if it has gone bad. I know he never tested my starter, and even told me that you can't test them like you can batteries, or using the machine to detect issues. You can indeed test the starter. Turns out, it was my battery all along. I absolutely feel mislead and taken advantage of by Ralph's, for the first time ever. Not only did he not test the starter, but he also didn't test the battery either. I don't work in auto mechanics, but by all accounts, the starter and battery should have been tested. And, I feel like he gave himself room for me to need more work by suggesting that it could be a wiring issue and by not testing the starter. I took it to a different mechanic and had the battery replaced, after spending $300 at Ralph's. You let me down. I feel taken advantage of, and that best practices for mechanics were not followed. I have only used Ralph's in my adult life. You did not even text the starter. It was never the starter, but the started cost more money than a battery. Even if it was the starter, which it wasn't, you told me there is no way to text a starter. There is a way. read more
