Good drinks and great burgers!! Server was super friendly! The outside patio was great!

My work was looking for a place to have a department lunch and I am going to highly recommend we DONT eat here. I know waiters are supposed to be friendly but this guy was a little creepy asking far too many questions for trying order a burger. I originally looked over the gnat in my water because those things happen but I feel like there is more going on in the back. The food came in a reasonable amount of time, was hot and tasted okay. However, it was greasy, our buns disintegrated and had way too much aioli. The bacon was floppy and there was hardly any bleu cheese. Honestly, the onion rings and fries were the stars of the meal. Prices were decent for the quality but I don't think the food stayed in mine or my boyfriend's system for very long. I was particularly annoyed with the whole check transaction. I asked for the check, he hands it to my partner. I hand it back with my card to the waiter and he hands it back to my boyfriend to sign. Some high-end places you can order a medium burger and enjoy it, this is not one of them. read more

I just tried Bru today with my friend and it did not disappoint. I got the Three Cheese Garlic burger. It was fantastic! Everything was cooked perfectly. The wait staff was attentive and were great about taking care of us when they were running low on iced tea and making sure they got more brewed. It had great service and a great selection. There was a long wait but it was worth it. It was recommended for its burgers and the hype was worth it. I had the Impossible (vegan) burger. It was wild how close it looked to a cheeseburger. It was very good and I had to ask the waiter to make sure it was vegan. The cheese and patty looks so real. Impressed with everything Bru has to offer against other downtown options in Cincy. The service was speedy, efficient and the servers were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the amount of burger options ranging from a classic burger that they deem as the "Beginning Burger" to unheard of and impressive burger combinations include an interesting "Melt Your Face Off Burger." The pricing was extremely reasonable and the space is gorgeous, extremely open and topped off with a beautiful outdoor patio. We started off with the buttermilk fried chicken tenders while we decided on our burger choices and guys you gotta sink your taste buds into these. Perfectly crispy, southern fried chicken tenders that comes with a house made chipotle bbq sauce that was surprisingly tangy. We asked for a honey mustard option to also pair with it and I would have to say that was a perfect compliment. These were insanely fresh and the breading just crumbled it was so lightly fried. Man I will dream of these chicken tenders again until the next trip I have to Bru. I'm a huge lover of the classic burger and so I opted to stay safe with their beginning burger option. This burger comes with American cheese, prickly, mayo, mustard, ketchup and garden lettuce. There's also an option to add bacon which of course I sprung for. Zach went with the Honey Chipotle BBQ burger with bacon, caramelized onions, white cheddar, a huge crispy onion ring, BBQ pulled pork and black pepper mayo. Let's just say this burger was a beast and he loved every bite of it. We both opted for fries to pair that comes with their housemade ketchup, that Zach compared to almost a marina sauce. Other side options are fresh fruit, basil pasta salad or slaw. All in all another scrumptious burger option in the Queen City is a success. We will definitely be back but until then we need to decide what burger to try next! read more

Ordered a Cobb salad which was supposed to come with eggs and chicken breast and Gorgonzola cheese. The full price was about $16. When it came I was shocked to see that there was only a half an egg and the salad was skimpy. I asked the manager to bring me another egg. She says the salad only comes with a half an egg and I would have to pay a dollar extra for another egg.Seems stingy especially since the salad cost $16! Others at the table ordered hamburgers and were surprised that there was a two dollar up charge for fries that turned out to be very greasy. Skip this place. I swear this place has the best hamburgers I have ever tasted in my life. I had the Mexican inspired burger and it was so delicious cooked to perfection with a nice artisan bun and fresh avocado. We even ordered a Waldorf salad that was even more spectacular. The ambience is warm and inviting and they even have an outdoor seating area that faces the street and the wonderful views of downtown Cincinnati. Good place for lunch with consideration for vegan/vegetarian options! I called ahead to pick up lunch. I really enjoyed the quinoa stack which had a thoughtful combination of quinoa patty, edamame hummus, portobello mushroom, pea shoots, and a sweet red pepper jam. The quinoa patty and red pepper jam stuck out and tasted great! Unfortunately the fruit side and pasta sides were a little disappointing. The restaurant itself is elegant with plenty of open space and outdoor seating. Overall worth a visit in the downtown business area of Cincinnati. Overall my experience here was pretty good. I love when a burger place has vegetarian / gluten-free options! The impossible burger I ordered was very tasty and their housemade ketchup was interesting, in a good way. I also ordered a beer when I first arrived, which is partially the reason I am going with four stars. The waitress took my order and a good while later came back to tell me that they were out of that beer. When I asked for a recommendation she didn't recommend a similar brew, which is what I was looking for. I ordered something else and waited another long while for her to come back and tell me the keg burst and would be another couple of minutes before I got said beer. At this point I was already served my food. Then when the bill came, I was charged for two beers and she had to make an adjustment, which just ended up wasting more time. Overall the service was ok. As far as burger restaurants go, this is a must! It has a high-end feel to it and a gourmet take on burgers to match. The variety of burgers on their menu (not to mention like everything else) is impressive and will suit any burger preference. The appetizers are mostly your classic pre-burger appetizers but elevated with all that housemade goodness (the Triple Dip was delicious... all three of them!) Now, me, I'm a vegetarian, and I'm still speaking so highly about a burger bar. For you plant-eaters, you have at least three options! And we're not talking just a black bean burger here. The Vegan Quinoa Burger was awesome and super flavorful. Don't knock it just because it's vegan! Only downside to the high-end flavors is the high-end price tag... these burgers aren't cheap and they don't even come with a side. But still, if you want something more than just a cheeseburger with American Cheese and LTO, treat yourself. read more

We ordered nachos and they were yummy and the perfect size for our party of four! My husband and our friends ordered burgers and thought they were great. Speaking about the burger I ordered though I was a little underwhelmed. I thought it was lacking and could be better. I ordered the one with blu cheese and bacon pear jam. My burger fell apart and seemed to be lacking in the things that should of been on there. Also it took forever to get our entrees. Hubby and I were in town for the weekend and decided to give Bru Burger a try. So glad we did! We arrived early evening so we did not have to wait for our table. The restaurant was smaller than I had anticipated but it had a really cool feel to it. We ordered chili cheese fries for our appetizer, he got the Bourbon Burger and I got the Beginner Burger, plus a side of onion rings. Everything was amazing, some of the best burgers we've ever had, juicy and full of flavor. The onion rings were crispy just the way we like them. Their house ketchup was super yummy too. This was the meal from hell. The fire alarm went off and on for an hour. No one came to our table, instead we complained to our waiter who got the manager. The manager came to our table and said the she didn't feel that she should comp our meal because it wasn't the restaurant's fault but rather the building manager. I'm glad Bru is here to fill this building because the location is excellent...Park in Fountain Square and it's just around the corner. The space is gorgeous and beautifully renovated. It's very modern, but still casual, so you can come in here wearing jeans or shorts. My husband ordered the Farmstead Burger ($11, brussel sprouts, prosciutto, truffle aioli, apple mostarda, and feta cheese) and I got the Provençal Burger sub turkey burger ($10, basil aioli, marinated red onions, herbed goat cheese, and sauteed mushrooms), both adding a side of fries for $2 each. Prices are high for a burger, but ok for downtown. I appreciate that you can sub turkey, veggie, or vegan burger for free on any of the custom burgers. The fries served on the side were fresh cut and delicious, but I though the homemade ketchup was too sweet (if it's not better than Heinz, just serve the original stuff). However, my husband's beef burger was overcooked (decidedly well done when he had ordered medium), and we didn't like the toppings on either of our burgers. This is a case of the menu sounding better than the real deal. Mine was completely covered in basil aioli and goat cheese, so that all I tasted was this rich mayo. The mushrooms were not great, and frankly they tasted canned. My husband's burger just tasted like sweet (presumably from the apples) plus overpowering truffle oil. None of the toppings were in balance; it was a good idea that was poorly executed. A stellar burger place in the heart of downtown. The beef patties are perfectly formed and grilled to cover you entire hamburger bun so you don't get mouth fulls of bread. The Stinton Blue Cheese burger had a great flavor of cheese, but the tang of the jam and freshness of spinach. My friend ordered it to share, not my pick, but I was extremely pleased with it. French fries were super crispy and loved the pretzel bread with the beer cheese. Cucumber lime vodka drink had a balanced flavor and perfect for a muggy day. Friends all had beer which proved tough to order as we apparently had an outdated beer menu (which oddly didn't get replaced) so the first few choices made by each person were told they didn't have them. Granted, being poor has never stopped me from going out before, but I throw that in as a constant reminder I won't be reviewing Restaurant L anytime soon. I remember as a child the space occupying Bru was Cadillac Ranch. I enjoyed coming downtown and seeing that gosh-darn awful gaudy Cadillac that was proudly displayed above the entrance. When it left, I was sad that such a big and well-placed building sat vacant. It was an unfriendly reminder that Cincinnati had a way to go in being tourist-friendly. Cut to 2015 (also after a failed El Coyote venture), and Bru comes bustling along, ready to take the burger game downtown up a few notches. I had super high hopes for them and I'm happy to report they've delivered. I've never had an issue getting a table in the restaurant. It's large and has a brown smoky theme. They also have a shaded outdoor patio that's perfect for when it's nice out. Typically, I start with their wings. They can make them however you like (extra sauce, all flats? Yes pleeeease). I've also had their bru board (salty goodness on deck), roasted mac and cheese (bomb), and their triple dip option (please send me the goat cheese dip if I ever move away). For the main dish, you know what to do. Get a burger. Personally, I usually get down with the Provencal burger, but I've heard many good things about bacon, garlic, and spicy burgers - that garlic burger has been calling my name since is covered in multiple cheeses. They also offer the impossible burger, which I've been meaning to try for a couple years now. If someone says Bru as an option for lunch or dinner, I'm never one to turn it down. Their burgers are solid, a wide range of apps and salads are offered, and they're really open to assisting with any dietary restrictions one might have. I visited Bru Cincinnati on 5-16-24 along with a co worker. We were seated and immediately placed our order because we were on a lunch break and time was an issue. After 20 minutes we asked if our food could be boxed up for carryout. The server went back to the kitchen and the manager came out with our plates and sat them down and said, "you've only been here for 20 minutes most people get 30 minutes for lunch," very rudely! She said it in a very sarcastic nasty way and turned to walk away and I asked her what her name was, which is Brook. What Brook should have said was, I'm so sorry, we're a little busy, here's some boxes for you. This was my co workers first time there and her last time there. I went there in a great mood on this beautiful day and I left there really upset because Brook chose to lose customers instead of handling a very simple situation. I got back to work and immediately called corporate to give feedback and found out that Brook was over this location. I told them that my complaint was against her and I was told that someone else would get back to me and I'm awaiting that call. As a business owner, I would like to give some feedback. Brook needs more training. She needs management training. She needs customer service training. She needs to know how to handle customer situations that arise in a professional manor. I will NOT return to this location because of the experience that I had with BROOK. It's unfortunate that she's in management. Hopefully, she can get some much needed training.I read more
