    Biscuits and sausage gravy
    Joseph P.

Just stopped in for brunch and our meal was delicious. I decided to order biscuits and gravy. It has been a while since I've eaten any variety of this dish. I'm glad I decided to try it. I don't know if the sausage provided the spicy kick but the dish was good. I'm not a big biscuit and gravy guy but I wanted something different. The price was a good deal. Maybe next time, I'll have a mimosa. I don't remember our server's name but she was helpful and attentive. The patio was nice.

Service kind and with a beautiful smile. Yes they are burger joint but they make a very good margarita. Not too sweet, fresh ingredient and a nice little tequila pour. I'm here for it. I was not going to get food but the sliders twisted my arm. And yes they were good.

Happy hour drinks. A big hit.

The food was great. The drinks were soooooo yummy. The atmosphere was great. Service was soooooo friendly and me and the server laughed at my jokes. She was super friendly. I live in this area and it's amazing.

The food was amazing. Cooked perfectly! The server was excellent, we had a large party and she made sure we were well taken care of. The restaurant is nice, plenty of room and lighting. Thank you for choosing Big Brothers Big Sisters for the burger of the month Charity!

We hit up Nation Westwood for Saturday brunch. I was really impressed with the set up of this place. Situated in an old CFD firehouse Nations did a great job turning it into a restaurant while keeping the old buildings charm. We came for the brunch, but instead got burgers and wings. As I get wings everywhere they are served, Nations wings were good. Not the best, but good. I paired it with a freshly tapped draft beer on a Saturday morning which isn't something I do often, but what the hell I wanted to try their brews. The burgers were great and salads were delicious. Nations Westwood is worth trying.

The burgers, the fries and the tater tots are great! We've been here twice, but not on a day when the garage door could be opened. I look forward to either eating outside (there is a nice area out front) or sit inside with the outside breezes flowing through. Our first visit was a while back, so I'm not completely sure what we ordered. We were there just this week, but I didn't take pics of the food. This last visit I had the Nation Burger. All the tastes - the bbq sauce, the onion straws, the horseradish aioli - combined perfectly. It was a great bite and a delicious burger. We also got loaded tater tots, which was awesome! I could SO make a meal of those tots! On our first trip here in July we had a Red & Bleu and a Spicy Black Bean with fries. Both delicious. I missed the hatchet on my bun on this last trip. Wait staff is always attentive and pleasant. I'm sure we'll be back.

I think I like their brunch better than their lunch/ dinner. Loved the food and portion sizes. Fair prices. Service was good. I will come back for that "srirancha" sauce on the breakfast bowl. Yum!

Food and atmosphere were amazing. There was a couple that sat at the table next to us with their dogs, and we thought it was very nice how they brought bowls of water out for them. We came in just after noon with a group of 7 and didn't wait long at all to be seated. Overall, 10/10. Will definitely be back

Overall it was really good. Disappointed the fried baloney sandwich and some other favorites were removed from the menu.

One of my favorite spots for burgers. Super cool building as well in a walkable area. Also has the best tater tots!

We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.
