Tried out Good Plates Eatery because of the good reviews. I was thrilled to see all of the quinoa bowl varieties. Truly it was difficult to decide. Ended up ordering the Mediterranean Quinoa Salad made with quinoa, romaine, banana pepper, feta, red pepper, pickled red onion walnuts, tzatziki, hummus and added chicken. Nutritious and delicious. Hubby got a hot turkey and cheese sandwich with a side of fries. Surprisingly, we both got a rice krispie treat to go as it's been a long time since we've had one. Have to be honest, both our treats were stale and dry which was disappointing, but I'm glad that we went. There is a parking lot nearby where you pay only a quarter for every 15 minutes. read more

I ordered takeout on a bleak rainy day, and my sandwich was delicious - really picked me up. The bread was fresh and nicely grilled, and the brownie recommended by another diner was delicious too. I would eat in (small and cozy, with a tables and bar-style seating) or take out. Also, also everyone in there was terrifically friendly - diners and the staff. First time trying good plates and it was solid! Ordered takeout and it only took 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready. If you decide to eat at the restaurant, ambiance is good as there is plenty of indoor seating as well. Ordered the garlic fries and house wings. Loved the fries, the flavor was phenomenal. Cincinnati is not a college town, but this area removed from downtown is near the university and definitely gives off a vibe like it's the sort of place you'd bring the parental units. Their bowl and burger menu has a good amount of vegetarian options (though not labeled clearly) and the list of drinks is long. My Creole quinoa bowl arrived in a carboard container with a plastic fork; I was a bit surprised they wouldn't have real dishes. The flavor of the red beans was good; the quinoa was on the soggy side. While nutritious, quinoa isn't the easiest thing to get right. The thin, grilled garlic bread on the side was as addictively delicious as it looks. There were certainly plenty of things that looked worth trying. read more

First off, I want to be clear. The food here isn't bad. The meatball sub and the burger were both fine, if unremarkable. The garlic fries were average, if a bit bland. The only real issue with the menu was that it's just a bit too expensive for what it is. My sandwich was a little light on the meatballs, I had several bites of just bread at the end. Nevertheless, what kills this place is the service. It took nearly 40 minutes to get our food and it was not crowded in there. For how long we waited, and given the relatively high prices, it just simply was not worth it. I will say, it was nice and clean, but it felt pretty generic vibe wise. Another thing that bothered me, was that even though it's a sit down resturant where you have to leave a tip and are not offered fountain drinks or free refills, we were still served in plain cardboard trays like it was a fast food joint. Again, not a huge deal, but given the wait and the expense it was disappointing. Overall I would skip this place. I can't reccomend it unless you've tried every other sandwich shop in the area and are desperate for anything different. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is clean and modern with a farm to table feel. The service is so good. We were approached immediately upon entering and served up quick. I had the Adobo Brisket grilled cheese and garlic parm fries. The brisket was super tender and felt like they made it fresh. Kinda like mom would make it. The park fries were a great side and had a really bold flavor. Jacob had the Ham and Cheese Sandwich which he said was excellent. It looked better than any ham and cheese I've ever seen. I'd definitely recommend stopping in. The problem with the place is there's so much to choose from on the menu. Right off campus, a clean, open, cafe-type restaurant. Friendly staff that will check up on you. A friend had frequented the place and I got to join her today. Her usual was the Mediterranean Quinoa Salad with chicken and that sounded good to me so I had the same. I've never had quinoa before, but I'm always up for trying something new. The meal was flavorful and came with little side dips/sauces (??) of hummus and greek yogurt (?? I may be totally wrong on that one). I mixed it all together and it was very filling and I felt pretty healthy eating it :). It's also a large portion, so I was able to take home leftovers. I'll be back because I definitely want to try some of their sandwiches. read more

I went here on a whim thanks to the Yelp reviews. It was good, but not great. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3 is because of their lemonade, fries, and the employee who helped us. I tried the burger and it was nothing special and honestly lacked a lot of flavor. My friend had the mediterranean quinoa salad and said it also lacked flavor. The parking situation in this area doesn't help this place either. I would consider coming back if I was already parked in the area and I wanted one of their delicious lemonades or to try one of their sandwiches. Otherwise I probably wouldn't revisit. read more

Met my mentor here for lunch and ended up staying for like 2 hours talking. The entire time the wait staff were friendly and refilled our waters, which is a plus since I know it can be annoying when people are sitting (but we weren't taking tables from other customers). More importantly - Oh my god the food is dope! We split the beef and chorizo meatball sandwich (with corn salad), and the braised short rib grilled cheese (with fries). They were both great but the meatballs were far and away the favorite for both of us. The braised short rib needed more of the horseradish sauce (which was basically just horseradish and sour cream), but when you got a bite that had the perfect combination of cheese, sauce, and beef (which they give you a lot of beef), it hit hard. Chorizo and beef meatballs were just consistently great, with wonderful sauce and cheese. They absolutely nailed both sides, with the fries being crispy and soft and hot and seasoned perfectly, without any complaints. The corn salad with jalapenos was super mild, with just a hint of heat, but a great blend of flavors with the creamy feta on top. Plus they have an extensive selection of soft drinks. I only wish they had a fountain soda machine.... Otherwise, all 5 stars! read more

I don't typically walk into places blindly, but today, I decided to be adventurous - and it paid off! The menu outside the window was all the reassurance I needed. My first impression was a cute, minimalistic cafe. I was promptly greeted and free to sit wherever. I ordered the brisket sandwich and a cookie. The sandwich was both generous and delicious! The cookie was soft and the perfect balance of sweet and salty. It was just the meal I needed to get me through the rest of the day. I also witnessed their inclusivity and able-diverse staff. When you walk past you wouldn't even know if the were open...but if you get a minute stop in. It's a very quaint establishment across from UC. The cashier was super friendly and took my order quickly. The prices are reasonable. In the heart of Clifton, GP is a perfect little spot to get lunch or dinner. Within walking distance to lots of places, this restaurant offers hand made goodness! I started my meal with a homemade Rice Krispie which was soooo goood. I ordered the good chicken sandwich and it didn't disappoint! There is a quarter lot for parking very close by. Looked clean and had wonderful wait staff. So nice to see the PRIDE flag out on June 1st! read more

After working my way through the typical fast food tour of the business district, I finally had some time one day to try out GoodPlates. Ever since my first visit I've been hooked! The staff is super friendly and the lunch service moves quick. I've worked my way through quite a few items on the menu. I've been passing good plates since it opened on campus but finally jusy tried it. Mad at myself for not coming sooner. I ordered brussel sprouts and a side of chicken. The only thing I wish they had was more protein options as entrees instead of sandwich's or bowls. BUT, the chicken was so flavorful and kinda sweet. TBH, I don't know that I was expecting too much from this place. But let me tell you, I should've gone in with higher expectations because everything was awesome! The menu is on the smaller side, but I can assure you that a lot of care went into crating those dishes. I got a brussel sprouts bowl and it was delsih. So fresh and healthy. This is such a cute restaurant. It is decorated beautifully. The staff is super nice and attentive. I ordered the Huckleberry Lemonade and the White Peach Lemonade ($2 w/free refills). I think my favorite was the White Peach but they were both good! I also got the Buffalo Chicken Wings($9) which was delicious. They are not super crispy but really tasty. Tough to find parking (I mean you are on short vine after all) but once you get there this place is a gem. The portion sizes are healthy, the sandwiches are good (not phenomenal) but the fries. My God these fries are good. I'm not sure if it's because they're such thick potatoes or if there's some magic in the fryer, but you absolutely need to try some of these fries. Overall, if you're in the area, I would definitely check it out. Not sure if it's worth it to drive 30+ minutes away though. read more

Picked up carry out from here tonight on my way home from work. It was so good! Such a cute space. The staff was friendly and helpful. My husband had ordered the Italian Herb sandwich on a whim. He thought it would be more like a hoagie but it was actually a grilled sand which that turned out to be amazing! I had the black bean/sweet potato bowl. And we split the French Fries. The bowl was - ok. (I need to try something else) and the fries were top notch! Great seasoning and texture. This restaurant does so much for the community, it's great to be able to patronize them. I am so happy this restaurant opened! It is bright and inviting and features some creative and delicious options! I tried the Brussels Sprouts, Meatball Sub and fresh cut fries. The sprouts were roasted and had a delicious glaze on them. Their take on a simple meatball sub was a welcome surprise of chorizo and beef! It gave a little spice to the sandwich and the red sauce was so robust in flavor. As for the fries, I've basically never met a fry I didn't like, so this was no different. The fresh cut fries always remind me of being at the fair - which I'm really missing out on this year. Overall I see this being a staple on campus and I hope that people make the trip down to try them out! I can't wait to go back to try the cold fried chicken sandwich! read more

This should be the busiest place on this road. Fresh, fantastic and fabulous food. Especially for the people who don't like mushrooms, there are full of flavor. But the main hero of the menu are the garlic-parm fries. I fished the whole serving. Had to stop as there were no more left. Just a great place with friendly staff and flavorful food. read more

Our first time at GoodPlates was INCREDIBLE. We were picking up a Board we had ordered, a Barbie themed one that turned out to be a masterpiece. Not only was it stunning, but each item on the board was Perfect. It was like they cut the strawberries and only placed the reddest sweetest berries on the board. The dip and spread were perfection. I'm not kidding, dreaming of that goat cheese on...animal crackers! We also ordered sandwiches and fries to go, that herby Parm on the fries- YUM! The place is so inviting, from the decor hanging on the walls, to the tile in the bathroom, top notch. The staff was incredibly kind and we will be BACK! read more

Parking was surprisingly easy with both street parking and a nearby public lot, which made things stress-free during a busy weekend. We sat outside and the ambiance was beautiful. I found though that when I wanted more lemonade (free refills) I wasn't sure of the protocol for getting more. (This is where grumpy servers were a bit off putting.) I eventually went to the bar to get my glass refilled. The salad was great and loved the tea. My companion loved her food as well. Great ambience and plenty of seating. However I'm not sure I would go back.
