I have been a long time customer of Les Schwab, leaving a review for this specific location because of several reasons. Service, professionalism, honesty, integrity, reliable, courteous, and more! Most recently they've taken excellent care of my young adult offering her financing based on my credit history. Being a consigner without the LOC on my report is out of the ordinary and extraordinary. When I've made appointments they are on point honoring my time. A few years ago I had a car that made noise every time I stepped on the brakes, with a young driver that made me extra concerned. I was told some vehicles are just noisy if I could fix it and charge you I would. The car was fine until it was traded on. I recently needed to buy tires for two of our vehicles. As loyal Les Schwab customers for over 10 years, we naturally went to them first. We visited the Ustick Road location and asked for a recommendation on slightly larger tires for our truck. Caden gave us a quote for the bigger size and assured us they would work fine--no mention was made about needing to recalibrate the vehicle's system. To ensure we were getting the best deal, we shopped around and found that Costco was $600 cheaper. Still wanting to stay loyal to Les Schwab, I called the Main Street Meridian location (by mistake, but figured service and pricing would be consistent) and spoke with Jamie. She was initially helpful and was able to lower the total by $200, which made the price difference more manageable. We appreciated the gesture and decided to stick with Les Schwab despite the slightly higher cost. We showed up at 9 a.m. for our tire appointment, only to be told that the tires they originally recommended were too big and would rub. We asked for a solution, and they suggested a smaller tire--yet it would cost more than the originally quoted set. I explained the situation, but the response was a flat "I don't control tire prices." On top of that, we were suddenly told that because we were upsizing tires, our truck would need recalibration or it could throw codes and drive incorrectly. This was the first time anyone had mentioned calibration issues. The employee admitted he "didn't know much about the new technology," yet confidently warned us of problems (on a 2017 truck, no less). Frustrated by the surprise costs and lack of communication, we spoke with Jamie again, hoping for a better resolution. She shrugged and simply said, "Tire prices are what they are." Her dismissive attitude made it clear that customer loyalty meant nothing. At that point, we canceled the appointment for our second vehicle and are taking our business elsewhere. After over a decade of being loyal customers, it's disappointing to see that Les Schwab no longer values customer service. You've lost us. read more

I'll tell you a transmission story about this place. Say what, a transmission? Yes, and an expensive one too. Daughter was home from college and needed a bunch of work done on her SUV, that I own actually. Schwab quoted and did the work. Two days later my daughter says something is wrong. It turned out the transmission was totally hosed. Went to my very trusted mechanic which happens to be transmission shop, looking for what to do, which was a rebuild. Conversation went like this,,, Me: What happened to it? Mechanic: Lost fluid. Me: Why? Mechanic: This bolt was damaged (he showed me the bolt) Me: How? Mechanic: It was hit with something (he showed me the damage to it) Me: Did she (my daughter) run over something or what? Mechanic: Nope. Impossible. This bolt is protected by a cover. Me: Well, then how would it be damaged? Mechanic: Look closer at the bolt. It was hit with a power tool of some sort. Well, isn't it strange that a few days before, Les Schwab had that cover off as part of the work they had to do. Hmmm. I think I know what happened, unless my daughter, with virtually no tools or experience, crawled underneath the car, removed the cover, drove it around, then put the cover back on. Hah. Not. I will never buy from or recommend Les Schwab. The did something today that is an outrage. My fiancée had a flat tire. Unfortunately it happened on a Sunday. For some inexplicable reason, retailers find it reasonable to be closed on Sundays. However, that being said...on Monday THEY REFUSED TO DO A SIMPLE TIRE REPAIR! They actually thought it right to tell someone with a flat tire that she had to make an appointment to have it looked at. I have NEVER heard of such a poor level of service. I have done business with Les Schwab for many years, at several treasure valley locations. Spent many thousands of dollars on custom wheels, tires, suspension, etc... Always had great service until the last few years. I just wanted 2 tires(that I purchased from Les Schwab)mounted on different rims, they wanted to charge $86.00. I am hoping it's just this location/store manager and not an example of the direction the entire company is going. I noticed a giant nail in my tire at work one morning and it was deflating fast. I called Les Schwab to see if they could patch it and they said bring it on in! I went right over and was helped right away. At first I thought wow that was super fast but the tech was actually coming to deliver me some bad news that the nail was in the sidewall of the tire and could not be repaired and that since I have an AWD vehicle I needed to replace all 4 tires! Not what I was expecting to hear! Anyways he ran me prices for different tires and I ended up replacing all 4 and spending an arm and a leg (since when did tires get so expensive???). I also asked what happens when I drive off the lot and get another nail in my tire - they said they will fix it or replace if it's in the sidewall! Well sure as shit, the next day I get a huge screw in the tire and had to hit up the Kuna location which is another review. Anyways - I was in and out of there in an hour which was great. I get the impression that they didn't need my business the day we brought in our Mustang for a brake assessment. Perhaps they were just too busy. Although I have the necessary skills to assess and replace brakes myself, I didn't have a lot of time to devote to doing this anytime soon and since this is my sons first car, I thought I'd present him a life lesson and opportunity as to how the world works, what it costs, etc., so I asked him to make an appointment to have his brakes looked at. It took nearly two weeks to get in. Although that seemed like a long time it was ok since the check was going to be free, so we decided we would wait. When we finally brought it in and they quoted us nearly $840 for all new brakes on a 1992 Ford Mustang! The value of the car itself is probably twice as much. I thought I had heard wrong but nope, that's the number they presented. What makes my experience worse is that after they wanted to replace every part in the brake system, I went to assess it myself. Up front, the calipers they said needed replacing worked perfectly and the seals weren't too worn. The pads they wanted to replace were around 20-25% (ok, that's getting close but still not urgent and they weren't causing the brake squeaks). The disc brakes they wanted to replace - still in great condition and thick enough. Now to the back of the car. Same thing: drums still had some life. The wheel cylinders were perfectly dry and no leaks. Seals in great condition. The only benefit about this place is the free brake check, HOWEVER if they are going to try to pull one over on you and sell you all new parts when you don't need them, that free assessment isn't free! My advice - take the time to assess the brakes yourself if you have the ability and if not, go to someone who comes recommended by a friend or who knows something about auto repair. Get 2 - 3 assessments if you can or one really good one. I will NEVER recommend this place to friend nor foe. The parts markup is ridiculous (close to double of online pricing). BTW, I just replaced the front brake pads for under $15 and the car stops better than ever and the squeak we originally noted is now gone! To add, the discs don't even need turning! I saved money simply by not choosing to do business here. Do your research! read more

They were so gracious to repair our tire with a nail embedded without charge and were utterly kind.

I replaced my tire pressure sensors a few years ago. They would only install and sell their brand. I asked how long they would last compared to the stock (which lasted 10) . They said they were identical. Now when two of the four failed I find out that the "warranty " is less than two years. I'm stuck paying for the replacements having waited about an hour for my vehicle to get in. I have used Les Shwab for years but have noticed a decline in the relationship they have with my family. First and foremost if you take your car or truck there they will tell you your tires are junk and try to sell you a new set. If it is your wife be ready for them to say that if the tires aren't replaced immediately that a horrific accident is imminent. What has happened. Just sad read more

Was advised against setting up an appointment from one of the staff members for Saturday morning. They just told me get there first thing and should be able to pop in. I was there at 8:11am. Just needed a pre trip inspection and a tire rotation. Waited for an hour and 40 minutes and watched 20 other cars go through that also had no appointment and my truck was yet to be seen. Don't trust everything they tell you. Took the tire in to Les Schwab and they yanked the nail out. The guy was quick to assume that with it's trajectory it probably went to the side and into the sidewall and I'll probably need a new tire. They call me 15 minutes later. Yep it's in the sidewall, can't fix it. Would have probably believed them but the tire wasn't going to be in until Monday and that wont work. So I took my wheel/tire to Commercial Tire in Meridian. They take the tire off and tell me it never even touched the side wall. Fixed it for me at no charge and I'm on my way home. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED I went to the Meridian Les Schwab Tire Center to get my tires rotated. My first issue was that I was told that it would only take 45 minutes when I checked in. No one came to give me a report until about an hour later. When the tech came to me he said, "There are a few issues that we need to address". He said I had two tires that had a dangerously low tread, and that I should get two new tires. He quoted me good, better, and best. He also told me that my front brakes were practically rubbing metal to metal, and if I didn't do something about it, I would have a much more expensive repair to deal with. He took me out to the shop area, and proceeded to show me my brakes while they were still assembled (calipers still attached and all). He shined his light on the caliper and just said, "see"? I nodded my head and we moved on. He showed me the two tires that he said were in bad shape. He used his measuring tool to show me that they were at a little more than a 32nd of an inch of tread left. It looked like more to me, but again, I nodded and we moved on. He quoted me $275.58 for the brakes, and I questioned him as to why it was so expensive. He told me that they would replace the calipers, resurface the rotors, and put on new pads. After I heard the explanation, I asked him if any of the items he listed to me were actually damaged or in bad shape. He told me that they don't just change pads, but with the total package they warranty it. Again, I asked him if anything was not going to function properly if it wasn't replaced. He gave me the same response. Long story short, he was trying to get me to pay for stuff I didn't need. I went and picked up some brake pads today, so that I could do the job for $30 and about an hour of my time. Guess what!? Both sets of brake pads that were on my car are still if excellent condition, with about 3/4" of pad left. So the whole job would have been done just for fun. The tires are also at almost an 1/8" of tread. If I didn't know anything about cars, and was completely trusting of the shop, I would have lost $300 for nothing. Not cool Les Schwab. read more

These guys are seriously the best! And might I add, the location on Eagle/Ustick is equally as stellar....so it's a matter of what's more convenient for you. (I'll be sure to write a review about the other location too) On my most recent visit to this particular location, I had just learned after a morning of car not starting, AAA, waiting.....tech diagnosing battery bad, tech not having the right battery on his truck....that alas I needed to high tail it stat to get a new one. No stopping, just straight there were the instructions. This Les Schwab is near my work, so I figured if there was a lengthy wait I'd be able to call for a ride and come back later. But behold....I pulled up near the entrance and before I could finish my internal debate to turn the car off or not, a tech was at my window. He sent me inside and drove the car right in. A few minutes later he confirms the battery was no bueno and I approve a new one. I was there maybe 25 minutes total when he called me to say it was done. The best part....he apologized for the length of time because they noticed my tire pressure light was on and inspected the reason. Staple in my tire and to be certain it didn't have a leak, they pulled it off and submerged it. Seriously?!? Service like that is few and far between and I appreciate it!! read more

I don't normally review tire places, but when I do, it's probably going to only be this one for as long as I'm living in Meridian. Why? Because I'll most likely have no need or desire to go anywhere else. I had noticed a slow leak in my front, left tire that I kept having to refill as it was flat every morning, but couldn't find where it was coming from. I checked yelp for a few tire places around town and saw mostly good reviews for this Les Schwab location. It was slightly further than two other places, but had better reviews. I went in today as a walk-in around 2pm and was greeted by an incredibly friendly lady who's name I can't remember but would say "oh yeah that was it" if I heard it. She took my info and keys after I took the car around to the front, I sat down for about 15 minutes, and like magic, they called my name. I went to the front, the gentleman told me the tire had a nail in it but they fixed it all up, and to have a great day. No, Les Schwab employees, YOU have a great day! Awesome job, incredibly fast, and everything you would want to see in friendly customer service. I'll be back here for any tire-related shenanigans. read more

Have been a long-time customer of 20 years. This is the first time that we had to deal with Les Schwab to stand behind a major incident, which they elected NOT to do. My son was driving home for Christmas and just outside Ogden on I-84 his rear right tire came off. One wheel stud broke off at the base and the other 4 wheel studs broke off where connected to the lug nuts (see pictures attached). Les Schwab mounted and installed the new tires in September and were the last to touch the tires. People with more knowledge than I claim that the tire was over torqued, or put on to tight. Instead of standing behind their work and paying for/repairing the damage they have lost a long-time customer. Reportedly Les Schwab self-insures and their "insurance company" elected not to accept responsibility. Interesting that a company that prides itself on customer service lets its "insurance company" be the face of the company. Not good for business. I would definitely not recommend Les Schwab to future customers if this is the way that they treat existing customers! read more

I would give a zero if it let me, I took my car in to have the battery checked that I bought there, it was bad, so they installed a new one, but my car would not start ever again, it had to be towed, while selling it due to it not ever wanting to run again, the guy who bought it told me how he found that the battery had been installed backwards and fried my car from the battery to the brain, showed me pictures of the burns etc, so they installed my battery backwards, did not tell me they did and I lost several thousand selling my car for scrap after spending all kinds of money trying to find out what was wrong, they are cheats and liars and left me with out a vehicle, never again will I ever spend a penny at that company... ever read more

He was really nice, didn't take advantage of me as a customer to sell me tires I didn't need and fixed my flat for me. I gave them permission to replace my tires if needed and when I came back he said they still had life on them. I have gone to different stores in Nampa, Boise meridian the result is the same but this store took the cake! 5 freaking hrs?! im sitting there in the store watching 22 other customers come in wait for 15 to 45mins and their vehicles are finished before mine. I am in a weird spot with this place. We ended up here in a pinch to get a hole patched. My friend was driving my car and did most of the transaction. She noted how great their customer service was. From what I hear, they greeted her as she pulled in and started helping her immediately upon walking in. I got there just in time to give my personal info since it was my car. They ended up doing the patch for free (with the promise of a good review online). My original review of Les Schwab was poorly.
