Not very good, folks! DO NOT recommend. Like other reviews have said here, Dr. Maltz incorrectly diagnosed a ton of skin conditions for me, incorrectly calling moles that I had on my skin Melanoma when they were 100% NOT and very benign (checked by 3 other board certified dermatologists). Also, he only works two days a week, that's why he's so booked. He's not booked because he's really good (that's what they want you to think), he's simply booked because he only works two days a week. Plus, the employees there aren't friendly and need an attitude check - I have been coming here for many years, but to be frank, it's time for Dr. Maltz to retire. You'll see. read more

I had a simple, outpatient surgical procedure with Bruce and his staff. I was quite impressed with the level of professionalism and bedside manner exhibited by both Dr. Maltz and his nursing staff. I walked out feeling informed and well taken care of. Great job! read more

They suck! I think they are doing Botox and Lasers and could care less about regular customers for derm. My son had a mole removed in 2010 and sent to the lab. They said if it grew back we should return. It has so I want it removed again and sent to the lab. They require us come for a consultation and 10 min. which costs extra. Then back again to remove it and pay again. I'm sooooooooo annoyed with them. I think it's completely unethical and they run a shameful business. I am picking up all 4 family members files and going a better dr. Sorry he and his stuff stink! read more

Dr maltz was recommended to us for our daughter who is suffering from extreme eczema. dr maltz is a nice enough guy, but he really did not give our daughter much effort. i don't think that he is prepared to handle pediatric cases, and after 3 or 4 office visits pawned us off on another one of the dr's in his office. i was very disappointed by his low energy approach to our daughter's suffering. he gave us very little hope. read more

Saw Dr. Maltz for a glomas tumor on my knee. He removed it surgically and did an excellent job. The removal required about 8 stitches and some cauterization. There was no pain during or after the procedure and he explained what he was doing as he proceeded. He was very friendly and seemed to take a genuine interest in my well-being. read more

It's never a good feeling to leave a negative review. I would have liked to settle this between us privately but it wasn't. The purpose isn't to make any one look bad or to get my way. I appreciate truthful reviews to know what to expect when paying good money for a product that didn't work. Dr. Maltz was very pleasant. He told me if I wanted immediate results I should use a different product because this one will take months to get results. I chose the one that takes time and was told I would need more after returning and getting NO results. I saw nothing after a couple thousand dollars. I came back and was told I would need more product and more time. Why would I do another round without seeing any results and throw thousands of dollars away. Dr Maltz kept telling me that he could see results. Lie, there was nothing there. I started to cry. I wasted all this money on a garbage treatment. He said it may need more time to take and he would give me a the other product since I was unhappy. I decided to wait the few months. Covid hit so I waited till November. I called and spoke to his assistant. She remembered me and the process. After talking to her I received a letter from Dr Maltz stating that he didn't promise me anything and he would give me 20 percent off if I wanted to come back. As a business owner. I would honor my patients needs for a few hundred bucks and keep a happy client and most likely many referrals. read more

I was reffered to Dr. Maltz by a friend, but after going to him, they tried to sell me a lot of expensive product and after going to him for a while, and ending up with expensive bills, I did not see result at all. I went to another doctor and with one simple topical cream, my problem was solved. read more

Dr. Maltz is very nice. But goodluck with booking an appointment with him. He's usually booked months ahead. There was this one time when I was being examined by the Dr. Maltz, I was almost naked and someone (i think she was a medical assistant) just entered the room without knocking, she wasn't even called in nor needed during the examination. And then recently, I needed my records to be faxed over to my new dermatologist. I gave them the consent to fax it and inform me once done. 2 weeks later, my new doctor still haven't received anything. I called Dr. Maltz office and spoke with Ariva and she gave me the run-around and basically told me that they mailed it because they don't fax medical records. I told her that I work in the medical field and that we fax medical records all the time for as long as we have the consent. She answered me in a sassy tone saying: "Well, this is not your office.". And then when I asked if they can mail it again since the new MD's office hasn't received it yet, she said she'll be charging me. I then asked to speak with her supervisor, Molly, who was apparently busy every time I asked for her so I was put on hold multiple times. In the end, I asked for Molly's direct extension which she answered right away. She agreed on having Ariva faxing my records over and calling me once it is done. I asked them what their policy was with lost PHI since they mailed my records without my consent and without it being certified and they couldn't answer me. I'm still waiting for my records to be faxed over... I just wish they train Ariva more on customer service since she was talking over me and not wanting to listen. If she only just checked if it can be faxed it would've saved us both some time since the supervisor agreed on doing it in the end. On the other hand, Jessica (i think it's the nurse) who assisted me over the phone 2 weeks ahead was very courteous. Ariva can learn a thing or two from her. read more

I've been seeing dr maltz since I moved here from miami, about 8 years, and he is fantastic! I have multiple skin issues and he has handled them professionally, gently and is also great with some cosmetic issues I've had. I've also seen Carmen for facials and she is very good...I like that she doesn't try to sell me stuff. Actually, neither does Dr. Maltz, which is nice. I would highly recommend them both to anyone. read more

A wonderful experience at a doctors office with my TWO YEAR OLD. We went in because she had rash on her face. Dr Maltz's team of professionals were polite and thorough. We were able to make a same day appointment, due to a cancellation. They did not take our insurance, so we paid cash (very fair, market rate prices) The lady at the front desk told us we can double check with our insurance company- so we may be able to get reimbursed. She definitely went the extra step to make sure we understood the billing process and we were comfortable with it. The nurse that swabbed my daughter's face was super friendly and patient. All in all, we are thrilled we were able to see Dr Maltz and visit his practice. A convenient location, lots of street parking available, friendly staff, we will definitely go back if there is every a need for a dermatologist. read more

If you need a highly competent, effective, well-regarded, and wise dermatologist with a good sense of humor, this is a good choice. Dr Maltz is direct and informative to his patients, making sure you know your options to your condition. He has been providing expert dermatological care for over 25 years and more recently for cosmetic skin care. I agree with the other poster that Dr. Maltz is not very good with kids. We were referred to his office to treat my young (8) daughter for molluscum (very common but stubborn childhood problem). The office is very nice, including the staff. The doctor, however, just didn't have a very good bed side manner for a nervous kid. Add to that-the treatments he provided did not work or offer any relief of the problem. After about four visits, we stopped going and after doing my own research, I was able to treat my daughter myself with a bottle of tea tree oil. Also, parking can be a pain-if you park in the underground parking you have to pay. read more

Duplicate treatment billing last spring resulted in out of pocket costs in the hundreds. Billing office (nor Dr. Maltz himself) would not reconsider after many phones calls, written letter, etc. It took them 8 months and 9 visits to many of the doctors at the practice to reach a diagnosis, which they subsequently were unable treat. We were referred to Stanford, and they still would not reimburse for the duplicate lab work them conducted, without permission by the way. Unethical and disturbing bunch of professionals. I have been seeing Dr. Maltz for about 8 years as I have very fair skin and freckles, some of which have gone "rogue" and have had to be removed. He is 100% professional and knowledgeable and wise. I have never questioned his judgement and offers several options for removal, after giving his opinion. I have always been happy with the results, as well his office manner. Not once have I ever been solicited about having cosmetic procedures or asked to purchase any type of cream or ointment that was not medically necessary. The office is quite professional and on time for appointments. Parking is easy on the street/meters or in the garage for $2. I also had my son see him for an acne problem, which cleared up within a month after treatment. I highly recommend Allura, and in particular, Dr. Maltz. I have been going to Dr. Maltz since I was 14 years old - I am now 41 and still going! He has no doubt saved my father's life with early detection of surface skin cancer before it got out of hand, has removed unwanted moles from my body, and got rid of my HORRIBLE acne that made me so uncomfortable when I was a teen. Not sure why people say that Dr. Maltz is not good with kids. His wife is a pediatrician and was mine when I was little which is how I found Dr. Maltz. I have been seeing Dr. Maltz for almost 20 years now. Everyone has complimented me on my skin since I have been a patient. Dr. Maltz has always listened to my needs. I have ezcema, acne and now I am worrying about wrinkles. He has taken out suspicious moles and given me great doctor care. I have referred all my friends and my family to him. He is my number one choice for a dermatologist. He is honest about treatments expectations, helps you when your insurance isn't so good with alternatives and even gives you samples and coupons to help with cost, and options for treatment. The only part I don't like is that it's nearly impossible to get an appointment with him. Otherwise, I'm not sure why other people write such negative reviews. I think it's your job as a patient to clearly let the doctor know what the problem is/symptoms and to clearly define what you want or don't want. If you don't communicate of course you will not get good doctor care. 5 stars to Dr. Maltz and his great care he has given me in the past almost 2 decades. read more

I 100% disagre with the posts that Dr. Maltz is not "prepared to handle pediatric cases" and "that he doesn't have good bedside manner with children". My daughter was born with a birthmark on her face. My entire family has seen Dr. Maltz for years for miscellaneous skin issues and it was a given I would see him for my daughter's case too. Dr. Maltz was soft spoken to my daughter (who was 3 when she began treatment), explained every detail of how he was going to treat her each time she had treatment and made her feel secure and comfortable. He was realistic with his treatment expectations and complimented my daughter each visit on her progress. I cannot recommend this doctor enough. The laser treatment he suggested was 100% effective. My daughter, who is now a teenager, will still tell you that Dr. Maltz is one of her favorite doctors! read more

I had a little red dot on my face incurred during sports play and when I'd wash my face, it would bleed a little. Wouldn't go away. Went to Maltz as recommended. Said it MIGHT be cancerous, "let's take it off". I reluctantly agreed because it was in the middle of my face. He said it would not be seen and would heal and be hidden right alongside my nostril. Not the case, and I have a scar where, once biopsied, was not cancerous. Wish the scar was not dime sized. Other than that, Nice enough guy, had to wait almost an hour in the waiting room for my appointment. Will try someone else next time. read more
