I've seen a few dermatologists in this office. Dr. Lapins is the melanoma specialist. I found out I had melanoma in 2012. Dr. Lapins removed it and in order to clear the margins he had to remove quite a lot of skin. At the time, my incision scar seemed large but after years of healing it looks quite good. The scar doesn't matter as I'm grateful to be melanoma free. Regardless, if it weren't for Dr. Lapins diligence and expertise this scary situation could have been way worse with possibly an entirely different outcome. Every six months I have a melanoma check up to look for possible regrowths. Dr. Lapins is thorough without wasting time. I appreciate his meticulous methods, and demeanor of not mincing words. He can be an acquired taste, but if you prefer to get down to the nitty gritty and take care of business, Dr. Lapins is a great doctor. Highly recommend him as a melanoma specialist. read more

I have taken my 92 yr old mother to Dr. Lapins several times and he has taken care of her issues promptly and efficiently. We found him to be very kind and compassionate . Yesterday, my mother's primary care doctor spotted a growth and didn't know what it was so he told us to have it checked by a dermatologist. I went upstairs as Dr. Lapins is in the same building and Monica was able to get her in WITHOUT an appointment. We only waited a few minutes. Dr. Lapins examined her and removed the lesion on the spot-no making us return for an additional apppintment! Mobility is difficult for my mother and we both appreciate the compassion that both Monica and Dr Lapins demonstrated. I highly recommend Dr Lapins for anyone! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Lapins for approx. 2 years = 2 visits, my last visit was on 7/31/20, I had several derm questions and one particular issue we had been monitoring, my reason for my visit. Unfortunately, I was 15 min. late to my appt. I did call and let the front desk know, I was never told my visit would be approx 10 min. I would have liked to have the option to reschedule. I was able to see Dr. Lapins for a quick 10 min. I was also disappointed in not being able to discuss my reason for my visit, with a 75.00 co pay and a rushed and dismissive attitude I won't be going back to Dr. Lapins, and looking for a new Dermatologist. read more

Lapins is very dismissive, rude and demeaning. My regular Dermatologist, Dr Kay, was on extended vacation and I had the very unpleasant fortune of seeing Lapins. This was 2mos ago and I am still absolutely shocked and frankly infuriated at Lapins's trivializing attitude and the condescending manner in which he speaks. I specifically waited to 'Yelp' this to see if I would see this situation any differently after a period time. Well,,, NOPE. I've been going to Dr Kay my full adult life - 20yrs give or take. Dr Kay is fabulous. He is attentive and a very caring Physician. I've not seen the other Doctor or 2 in the Office so I can't comment on them. If you want the highest of professional work in dermatology Dr. Lapins is the right physician for you. If you want drama and emotion watch a reality show on tv. We have 3 specialist nurses, 2 physicians a former PA in our immediate family as well as 4 physicians that are close friends. They all rank Dr. Lapins high on their list. I like going to a "Doctor's Doctor" as they know the inside scoop. Everyone gave accolades about Dr. Lapins. He removed a cyst from my nose. I was worried it would leave a whole or scar on my face. Seven years after my initial review and many more years since I was first referred to him, I am more certain than ever of Dr. Lapins' expertise, attention to detail and genuine concern for his patients. My first review noted that it is probably easy for some patients to find Dr. Lapins neither warm nor fuzzy, and that this might color their overall impression of him. Others' reviews may reflect that, which is why I am taking the time to elaborate here. What I have experienced is a seasoned specialist who receives complex referrals from other dermatologists--which is how I met him--who is meticulous about catching pesky skin disorders before they become serious and effectively treating conditions when they do require intervention. If you are at risk of or diagnosed with recurrent skin cancer, he's the guy you want taking care of you. That he also happens to be a really good guy (with a dry sense of humor that takes a little time to unearth) is a bonus. read more

You won't get a lot of chit-chat or small talk, though I have come to know him over 10 years and can usually get him to chuckle a bit. This man doesnt even deserve 1 star. I brought my daughter in for a procedure and ended up leaving without having it done. He is very condescending and lacks any kind of bedside manner whatsoever. He has a "im the man in charge"attitude and went against everything that Dr. Keller said should be done. I would NEVER reccommend him even to my worst enemy. I thought (and still think) he's great. I picked him by chance out of the Yellow Pages since his office was closest to my work. He's very nice and professional (and quick!). I had a mysterious bump near my belly button. He injected it with someonething, it slowly flattened months later and now, years later it's as if it was never there. i saw dr. lapins a few months ago, and he seemed experienced and everything. however, my gripe is about his bedside manner. he seemed a little dismissive of my questions, and didn't crack a smile once! you'd want to feel at least welcomed when you see the doctor, wouldn't you? he just didn't strike me as very approachable, and i felt a little rushed during the appointment. bottom line: he basically told me what i suspected was my skin problem anyway. so not much help there. i kind of felt like i wasted my copay. oh well. the staff was okay, but i don't think i'd come back here. read more

I only have positive things to say about Dr. Lapins. He has treated me twice for skin cancers - one on my nose and one under my eye. He performed the Mohs surgery both times and left no marks and no scarring. He is amazing and talented and if I have to go thru the surgery again, I pray he is still practicing. As for his bedside manner, I don't know what everyone is talking about. I find him to be very pleasant. read more

I went for a botox injection and Dr. Lapkins injected my face while I had to turn my head to the right while he sat in a chair. Needless to say he missed the area and one side was warped. I went back to let him know that my face was not symmetrical and he started "yelling'' and arguing with me like I was a 2 year old. The physician is extremely condescending, rude and nasty!!! It's true about what the other Yelp patients have written with him being dismissive!!! I was ripped out since I put in a dispute with my credit card company for $430.00, but you know how doctors think they are always tight. He sent a medical record into my credit card company that doesn't even align with his procedure technique. So I was a guinea pig and ripped out of $430.00. But "karma" is a spiriual blessing and this is why to appears some people have bad luck with their own personal life because they are so rotten and evil...hint.!!! read more
