During this time I mentioned to front desk I'd like to inquire about the cavities that I currently have during my cleaning. Throughout the 10 mins that I stood there with front desk, she constantly kept reconfirming me that I was covered through Medicaid for this cleaning but she have to ask her friend about the fillings. She even provided a document with the Medicaid code to me. I time and time again reiterated to her to not focus on the cavity situation now. After being called to take am x ray about 10:30pm... I was getting by another young woman. As I sat down I hear whom I thought was drunken man by how he was slurring his words say " you need to pick an insurance " I look back and YES he was talking to me. I then asked "how do I pick? I'm covered for this" instead of answering.. he literally walked away while I was asking. He kept stating that he doesn't take straight Medicaid.... About 3 rounds of that. I immediately stood up because not on my was his mannerism extremely unprofessional but I then felt very uncomfortable and bullied. Very very tasteless and nasty attitude. I mentioned that I've been to this dentist before and had an amazing experience and that's why I returned. I then told him that he was really rude and he asked how in the most aggressive way possible. I guess he had better things to do... instead of possibly helping me out somewhat.. I usually get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. Her and her assistant are very attentive and gentle with their care. She foresees any issues before they become big problems and tries to fix them on the spot (or schedules another quick visit at times at discount rate). So, I was one of those people who wasn't aware to keep wearing her retainers after braces and ended up back with all the gaps between my teeth. Dr mou helped me successfully transitioned to invislign trays. She kept a close eye on the health of my teeth during the process. At some point in my early visits, I developed gengivitis and she coordinated for me to have surgery in her office with one of her surgical colleagues. She worked with my insurance and always had suggestions on ways to make her visits even more affordable. The office stays on top of all my visits with frequent text reminders. I never had an issue waiting inside the office. And now with Covid, safety is not even an issue. I feel like I'm the only one there for my timeslot. When I lived in Florida my teeth were just fine, routine care and cleaning. In Manhattan, the last guy told me I might need a root canal!! The other one I went to before tried to get me to buy braces. I'm 36. Im so glad I found Dr. Kim and his awesome hygienist Cati. They've seen me twice and I have no cavities. They didn't recommend unnecessary procedures. He does not try to upsell you. He even didn't do X-rays the first time because I told him I recently had them. We did X-rays the second time, and he explained them to me, knew exactly what the other doctors were watching, but reassured instead of trying to do unnecessary tests. The guy is honest. I asked him about my tmj symptoms and he took a mold of my mouth and made me a mouth guard right on the spot. And I swear to god, he DELIVERED IT HIMSELF. This guy is amazing. He's also very quirky and funny but I just think that means he's probably a genius.

Unlike other Korean doctors who look down on you if you're a Korean who is not an expert at speaking Korean, Dr. Kim was very nice to me. He made sure that my insurance covered my dental molds, and his assistant molded my teeth in alginate five times to get the best mold. The teeth cleanings here were not painful at all, and both Dr. Kim and his assistant gave me lots of compliments on my "beautiful teeth." Also, this is the first dentist I have been to as an adult who has not tried to convince me to take all three of my remaining wisdom teeth out... They have not grown in yet, but every dentist has tried to convince me to remove all of them in order to make more money. Not Dr. Kim! I must note that the front desk assistant is VERY unfriendly, but the doctor and his assistant are really great!!!
