I love Bruegger's and am so happy there's still one around. I've been coming for 30+ years. I get super excited when I see one in an airport. Stopped in today at Village Square and the store was filthy-tables and floors. But the bagel was amazing. They are concerned about reaching goal of 80%. My advice- strive for 100%. I'll give this 5 stars. Though they dint have the maple bagel fir the vermonter, the staff was apologetic about it. I opt for jalapeño bagel instead and irs so yummy. Spicy and sweet is perfect for me. I love the texture and taste of bagels on this place. Their sandwiches are freshly made all the tome and taste yummy. The place is clean and warm. My coworker and went in for lunch and stood in line waiting to order. We stood in line for almost 10 minutes to then realize that the line for ordering was apparently the same line as the mobile order and delivery line. (Mind you, the signs specify walk in vs mobile order). Not one person acknowledged us let alone told us that the line just magically changed. After they started helping people and taking orders for people that were behind us, we walked out and went elsewhere. It's sad that every time I go to this particular location, I have the same exact issue. Absolutely disgusting customer service. The girl making it completely forgot about it and didn't make it until about 10min later when she saw me still standing and waiting for my food. The more recent time I went and ordered two (2) bagels both toasted with cream cheese and asked for a side of dressing. The girl didn't toast either bagels, both were cold and soggy. Not to mention I had to go back in and ask for more dressing bc they put a singular drop in the side cup. I would never come here again, I wouldn't even give my dog their bagels. They are so undercooked and gross. Also terrible customer service but that's a whole different problem. Learn how to make a bagel if you're going to work at a bagel place is the moral of this story. read more

Bruegger's Bagel Bakery, of course; I have submitted a correction to the Yelpbase. This is an efficient and comfy franchise location with plenty of seating, set in a strip mall along Central Avenue on the "morning commute" side of the road and is thus fairly convenient for the breakfasting crowd. No drive-through. The staff are pretty perky and attentive here, the lady I suspect is the franchise owner at the cash register takes very good control of the line and customers and is friendly and ever so subtle with the upselling. It's cute. One small bonus to this location is you can see their bagel boiler through a glass window. There's one big flaw with this location's design, though, which seems to be endemic to the Bruegger's in the area: while they have the double-airlock door on the front, they have only a single door on the back entrance. This creates a cold wind tunnel effect every time somebody comes in the back, which is not what I want from a morning nosh place. I have generally been a fan of the Bruegger's concept but I think they've suffered quality control issues in recent years on their signature product -- the bagel -- perhaps due to competition from "below" from Dunkin', and their vaunted coffee club (buy a cup at a fairly steep price, but get free refills for a year) isn't such a great deal because the coffee is weak and fairly tasteless Columbian. I think their breakfast sandwiches in particular have suffered from keeping-up-with-the-Jones, and are essentially no better than Dunkin's and quite a bit worse than Starbucks' at the same price level. This leaves their lunch sandwiches, which, heavily bagel-reliant that they are, have suffered as the bagels have become bland and if not "mass" produced and shipped in as at Dunky's and Bux, aren't as good as, say, Price Chopper's bagels. Seriously. (And I note that the day-old bagels they sell in half-dozen lots here are the same price as fresh bagels at Price Chopper.) And that makes for sandwiches that disappoint a lot of the time. Strangely, I think Bruegger's ciabatta is better than their bagels at this point for sandwich-envelopment. But when I crave a bagel, I crave a bagel. Bottom line: this is an above-average Bruegger's location, but the Bruegger's brand needs some quality enhancements these days. I think for a sit-down sandwich I'd still take it over Dunkin's, given a choice, but I'll take a Dunkin's that's warm and has no wind tunnel effect over a chilly Bruegger's. read more

I cannot find any authentic NYC bagels in this area (most are essentially plain old BREAD dough, just made in a circular shape) so I finally went back to Bruegger's after not buying them for several years, and was truly disappointed. They were like they had risen (some people say "proofed") ONLY about half way. The ingredients should be right (barley malt) and they were boiled correctly, but they were way too dense and doughy to the point of being gummy - IMPOSSIBLY heavy. Felt like an uncomfortable wad in my stomach. And to top it off, they were TINY. The smallest excuse for bagels I have ever encountered. Admittedly, the last Bruegger's I had were several years ago, BEFORE they hooked up with Panera Bread in 2021 !! and I surely don't remember them being like this - small, yes, but not impossibly heavy. I won't buy Bruegger's again. At this point I'm driving up to 30 miles one way trying to find decent bagels. It's becoming demoralizing. ' read more

Our church gets our bagels for the break from Bruegger's, and they usually have small portions (bagel bites?) of a sun-dried tomato bagel that is spicy and fantastic. My wife and I were in the area and she suggested we stop here for breakfast. I ordered the sun-dried tomato bagel, but it was nowhere near as good as the bagel bites we normally get. Either different Bruegger's use different recipes, or perhaps today they put in too few tomatoes and spices. However it happened, it was just okay. The people working here really seem to enjoy lecturing the customers. I normally don't order from this location, because the workers are so rude, but I made a mistake in my mobile app, and had to come here, dreading the interaction that I would likely have. First, no greeting, like the other store. I told the woman behind the counter that I had a mobile order for bagels, and that I had arrived a little bit early. I said ordered a dozen bagels and wanted them plain. The lady with the big holes in her ears said that that the time I come, I should call ahead and let them know I wanted a dozen plain bagels, because, even if it's one of their normal items, they may not have enough. OK... I've never had a Bruegger's employee say this before, and apparently it's very important to them at this location. Then when I went to pay for my order, they couldn't find it. In the meantime, I'm standing there while they're talking to each other and, they get a manager who says that it won't show up unless I ordered ahead--way ahead, "like hours away". I arrived at 8:35 and my order was for pickup at 9. I said my order was for pickup at 9. Then the lecturer said "Next time you should tell us you had a mobile order to pickup later." I said, "That's why I told you when I came in." And she paused and then tried to come up with yet another lecture, so I turned around and started to walk away. The owner should really have some secret shoppers in. This place is just a surly location and it is awful compared to the other ones that are minutes away. read more

Went this morning for a bagel around 9am. Wasn't crowded, one other customer, but the area where the guy was preparing bagels was a MESS! It looked like he'd been furiously working nonstop for hours.... We ordered a plain and a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese. Simple enough. (Oh did I mention he looked dirty too? He was nice enough, but had his mask hanging below his nose - I mean why even wear it then, and he looked just slovenly). He literally uses a knife edge to "clean" the board that was a mess and sent us to the cashier who was super nice and rang us up. (Over 7 dollars for 2 untoasted plain cream cheese bagels seems a bit steep). We got our bagels to go. We opened the bag and to our disappointment found the plain bagel covered with parts from other bagels. If I had wanted an onion bagel I would have ordered one, or poppy seed, or the multiple other flavors that were introduced into my bagel by the gross cross Contamination! The sesame was just as bad. And bagels were just okay. The sesame seed bagel was undercooked. I should have gone next door to the grocery store, they are better. if you're looking for blah bagels, very little cream cheese, over priced and nasty food preparation, then come here. I come here a few times a week for coffee. I'm a big fan of their iced coffee. It's not too strong which I like. They don't offer it year round so you have to really take advantage of it when it's here. The people at this location are really friendly to the regulars. I work nearby so I feel like they probably take that effort to make the extra connection especially the employees who have been there a long time. If you have ever been before you'll notice a lighter brewed coffee more similar to Dunkin than Starbucks. Only 2% or half and half for creamers so it's pretty basic but good. The food is overpriced but I think their bagels are really good especially the square asiago cheese bagel. I like to have it with the jalapeño cream cheese and some tomatoes or even some turkey. read more

It has been quite some time since I had the opportunity to enjoy a Bruegger's bagel. Since it was lunch time I decided on a turkey chipolte on a toasted everything bagel; a turkey club with chipolte mayo. I opted to add a slice of muenster cheese. Once upon a time I added sprouts, but alas, it is no longer an available option. The everything bagel at Brueggers does not add caraway seeds which I happen to appreciate. Small bagels, corporate controlled portions. If you ask for a little more cream cheese, they add half a scoop and charge you a buck for it. The coffee is weak and tasteless. And the staff. Everyone I know who has been there says that the black guy creeps them out. He does. He has a strange demeanor and pops out off the cuff, weird comments. He tries to start a conversation with you, and thereby slows down the line and causes it to back up so that it takes forever to get something. AND...he's slow to begin with. And you can tell that no one wants to talk to him. My co-worker, loves their lunch sandwiches. But the guy is sooo slow, and creeps her out that she just told me she hasn't been there in over a year. About 2 years ago, the manager of the store, upon seeing that I got extra cream cheese, remarked, "Do you like bagel with your cream cheese?" This is coming from a manager? Do you WANT my business? I've had a few bagels from here and they were... ok. a few people on here say Price Chopper's bagels are better, and I think I would agree with that. I'm not sure if there's a Wegmans right in this area but they have good grocery store bagels too. The bagels here are on the thin side with a bigger hole in the middle than most places. They're a little more dense too. I had an everything bagel toasted in store with butter and it was good. I've also had a sesame bagel and a cinnamon sugar bagel that I took home and had for breakfast the next day. I would suggest eating these fresh the day they were made, they definitely toughen up over night, and the cinnamon and sugar on the one bagel turned mushy and sticky over night. read more
