I lost my appetite immediately. My husband brought this up to our server and he just said that's how they do it here. He didn't ask if I would like something else until after my husband was done with his parfait which was strange. At least he took my dish off of the bill. Visited on my last day in Colorado. I made reservations for brunch as a precaution but I think we would have been seated quickly regardless. I ordered the lobster roll. Completely dry. I chose the home potatoes which were also very dry, had to get ranch just to eat them. $42 bucks with tip is not worth it at all. Service, waitress was nice but charged me for ranch knowing I didn't enjoy the lobster roll. The host was tired and didn't smile or seem to want to be there. Food and drinks were not served in order they were taken. Plus, you have to pay 10 to park there. Ambiance is hard to beat with the views and the only reason for the 2 stars. First the good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can't beat sitting down and relaxing for a meal inside the Stanley Hotel. The views are memorable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, the pottery used to plate the food is beautiful as were the flowers on the table and other touches.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, the bad was the food. I ordered the Chilaquiles which I told the waiter was something I order often... asking if it was authentic and good, to which she yes, but to add chorizo to it to make it better (which I did). The dish was described as handmade chips with green and red salsa with 2 eggs (so far so good) - but when it arrived it was 1) cold 2) chips were cold and mushy and hidden under a pound of cheese with a beautiful pile of chorizo however. But I had to send it back because the large donut of melted hardened cold cheese around the edge of the plate was very unappetizing. When it came back, the chorizo was gone... the soggy chips were the same, the eggs were removed and replaced with perfectly cooked ones, but then the entire plate was once again covered in an additional pound of cheese and then melted. It was literally inedible. I took 5 minutes to scoop out the mountain of melted cheese onto another plate and another to separate out the soggy chips (that were flavorful) to eat with my eggs but all was again cold after this whole ordeal. On an upside, my daughter's French toast looked and tasted beautiful. Another smaller but valid issue is that the coffee was horrible... nice hotel- nice restaurant--- quality coffee seems like it could be a simple fix... and the coffee cups were the smallest I had ever seen, making it necessary to be filled after 2-3 swigs -- which of course is impossible unless you have someone dedicated to roaming the dining room filling cups, which they did not. The service was friendly and they did try very hard to address the issues with the food - which finally ended with the manager taking the inedible dish off our bill. (Appreciated) She also offered to replace it with something else, but that moment had passed.... The main disappointment, other than not being able to eat my breakfast, was that the night before I had eaten an incredible dinner at the Cascade restaurant in the main hotel where everything was amazing and had incredible attention to detail. I'll leave you with 2 thoughts: no one should order or definitely eat the Chilaquiles. It's a heart attack waiting to happen, and the view is gorgeous, but skip the coffee and get tea or orange juice instead. read more

As Brunch & Co is part of the Stanley Hotel, I was expecting mediocre food at outrageous prices. I was dead wrong. This was the best brunch I have ever had. The aesthetic is the same as the Stanley - upscale haunted Rocky Mountain lodge. The menu is "The Shining"-themed, down to blood splatters on the pages. We started with lavender mimosas, which were amazing - even brunching all over Los Angeles for decades, I haven't had such a delicious mimosa. We chose two of their Signature plates, the Here's Johnny! and the Mrs. Grady. Here's Johnny was a scratch-made buttermilk biscuit housing ham, egg, gruyère, hollandaise, a sweet mostarda, and a "maple bourbon gastrique". It was absolutely phenomenal. Mrs. Grady was fried chicken and waffles, served with slaw and syrup. Hearty portions; outstanding flavour. I'll repeat: this was the best brunch I have ever had. The mimosas, the quality of the meats and scratch-made items, the ingenuity, the theme, the location - I wish I could come here every weekend and try every dish! read more

Although we weren't staying at the Stanley, I'm so glad I read the reviews here and stopped in for breakfast today. We had just a short wait but were able to be seated on the front porch. Beautiful views and weather, servers were on point. The universe was smiling down on us! Hubs ordered coffee and decreed it was very good and he is a real coffee snob. I had the classic bene which looked delicious - but the biscuit was a bit dry and overly large. The "salad" that took up much of the plate was sadly just dry greens. My husband's steak breakfast was good, steak was perfect but over medium eggs were pretty undercooked and had to request replacements which came out quickly and were perfect. Servings are generous. By far, the Strawberry Shortcake stole the show! Eggs Benedict were tasty, but drowned in sauce. Would still get again. Crepes got a thumbs up! With ingredients being locally sourced, occasionally they run out of some ingredients. Though not all servers know as we had return visits to our table asking for substitutions. The food was amazing, but the service Gloria provided was even better! She was "Jonny on the spot" with coffee, (which is excellent) and got our special requests perfectly. It's SO reassuring to see that fine dining is alive and well...clearly the staff is well trained and the highest standards are being fulfilled. Gloria is a gem, worth her weight in gold. I hate writing reviews, but I have to on this. We were put on the waitlist, name and correct number verified, was told it would be around 30 minutes. Approached the desk around 40 minutes, only to be told we were removed from the wait because the message didn't send?? Asked about when we could be seated or if there was an additional wait, only to continue to be told the message didn't send and wasn't offered another wait or anything. After having brunch here on our last full day in Estes, we regretted not booking a stay at the Stanley! We didn't have a reservation so we had a good 45 minute wait, which we didn't mind because it gave us the opportunity to check out the hotel. We grabbed some coffee in the hotel, the red rum coffee was outstanding, we came back the next day before heading to the airport because we had to have it! Then walked around the hotel, checked out the gift shop, went to the tasting room, and walked the maze. By the time we saw most of the things, our table was ready! I was able to stop by this amazing restaurant again while in town and it was as amazing as I remembered. We stopped for brunch and had to wait about 45 minutes for a table due to how busy they were. But we grabbed coffee and enjoyed the sunshine on the porch outside while we waited. The staff was very attentive and welcoming and came out to the porch to notify us that our table was ready instead of texting or calling which was kind of nice. I chose The Grady Twins (eggs Benedict with Ava ado crab cakes) which was absolutely delicious. The house-made hollandaise went perfectly with the side of house potatoes that were served with the entree. I also tried their Hot Tottie which was the perfect choice to warm me up. My sister had the Wendy? Darling? and substituted the waffle for a biscuit. She was raving about the honey Dijon sauce on the chicken and the chicken itself was perfectly breaded and crispy. My cousin had the Belgium Maple Vanilla Waffle which she really enjoyed. I can't wait to come back again on my next trip up to Estes Park. read more

I really enjoyed the food, service and view. The sandwiches were excellent. Excellent cuts of fresh meat and fresh condiments on the perfect bread. I shared sandwiches with my hubby and have nothing but raves thumbs up for the sandwiches. Sweet Potato waffle fries were two thumbs up yummy. My son took me out for a birthday brunch today, and because I had a great experience last year at Brunch and Company, I chose it again. I love the Stanley Hotel but when we got to the check in counter, the 2 ladies and 1 young man there ignored us for about 2 minutes even though there were no other customers. The young man was looking at a tablet and finally looked up. No greeting, no "welcome to the Stanley Hotel " -- nothing. I spoke up first and told him we had a reservation. So very unfriendly experience. Our server was wonderful however, very sweet and friendly. I ordered the Bushwacker and it was a stack of biscuits, gravy and eggs with the fried chicken strips stuck in between which made the breading gooey. But the worst was the chicken, way overcooked to the point it tasted burnt. I had trouble cutting it with a serrated knife. It was tough and dry. For $22 I expected a better meal. The hours of operation are not accurate on Yelp, however, they are accurate on Google. Brunch & Co is open from 8-8 everyday. After a weekend of dismal food options in Estes, this was by far one of the best places we dined at. Do yourself a favor and make reservations if you plan on dining her for weekend brunch. We actually ate here twice during our short stay. For lunch we had the "Loco" sweet potato waffle fries that were amazing! We paired that with a grilled cheese sandwich and they were a match made in heaven. The following day for brunch, we were seated in the area to the right of the entrance of The Lodge and it was old and smelled musty. I tried not to think too much about it and it also helped that our waitress was really nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the lavender mimosa and highly suggest it. For brunch, my husband and I shared the 3 stack of pancakes with a side of eggs, smoked salmon and sausage. It was a basic breakfast and to mess it up would have been a real stretch. I had my eye on the lobster benedict, but with the mixed reviews, I was afraid to try it so we decided to play it safe.
