    Lumpy omelette

If you're looking for breakfast in Estes Park, do yourself a favor and stop by Notchtop. I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict, while my wife had the Lumpy Ridge Omelet and the Banana Bread French Toast. Every dish was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can tell they take pride in both the quality of their food and how it's presented. The atmosphere had a lively buzz without feeling overwhelming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The coffee was excellent, but somehow our waitress managed to outshine even that. She was knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely kind, attentive without hovering, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. The only thing I regret is that Notchtop isn't located in my hometown. If it were, I'd be a regular. Whenever we're back in Estes Park, this will be our first stop. Highly recommended!

I've been coming to Notchtop for over 20 years and there is a reason for the line out the door! The food is always delicious and the ambiance is cozy with booths. They have a baked goods case with all the yummies from pie to cookies- they even offer many gluten free options! They have a bar with excellent breakfast drinks and this is a spot you can get everything you want! We had the chicken fried steak- so flavorful and such a big portion I only ate half and had the rest for lunch! The huns had the polish breakfast and enjoyed the unique polish latke. We split a pancake and had all the boxes checked- YUMMMMMM

The wait was not long for 5 people on a Sunday morning which was surprising. The food was good and the service was good.

Their latte was fantastic! Corned beef and hash just delicious. We came at the right time. Not so busy. Service was great.

The menu is super diverse with so many things. It was hard to choose what to order. I heard CO is a green chili state so I ordered something with green chili. I had the Dragon's Eye Benedict 5/5. Instead of biscuit, they used pancakes. The pancakes were soft, fluffy and thick. I love the combination. Though I could barely taste the green chili. Elk Stew 3/5. There was so much peppers that it overpowered the taste of the stew. Service was alright. They didn't refill my water but asked my boyfriend if needed to refill his coke.

Breakfast goals achieved at @notchtop2024! This Estes Park institution, named after the majestic Notchtop Mountain (12,129 ft!), has been serving up deliciousness since 1993 - that's 30 years of satisfying hungry folks! Talk about a local legend. The lines out the door prove they're the "belle of the ball" when it comes to breakfast, but don't worry, they're super efficient! We devoured the flavorful Corned Beef Hash & Eggs and the unique Polish Breakfast with those amazing homemade "platkes." Both perfectly seasoned and so satisfying! Already planning my next visit to try their tempting Coffee Cocktails and Mimosas. This place is a must-stop in Estes Park!

Good traditional American breakfast spot with prompt service and a cozy dining room. The breakfast tacos with chorizo and green chile were delicious. French toast was tall and delicate. Kids devoured their pancakes.

We were super impressed by Notchtop. We had lunch one day and then breakfast the next. The food is legit good (in my opinion, it's hard to find actually good food in smaller towns in CO). I had a burger for lunch and the next morning for breakfast, I had the Santa Fe hash -- both well seasoned and fresh and spicy. Even the drip coffee is good. The service is fast and efficient and you can tell the staff take it seriously, running a great restaurant. The crazy mountain views just outside the window make this the complete Estes dining experience.

Their food is so nice and their service is so friendly. I absolutely love this place. Ha ha

We arrived here mid afternoon on a Saturday and it was fairly packed! We were able to be seated right away thankfully with our party of 2. Service was great and food came out quickly. Portions are generous and food is delicious! Would most definitely come again. It is lively and loud as a diner typically is inside. Family friendly!

Notchtop offers a wide range of options for their breakfast/brunch menu. Out of which, dragons egg benedict was creamy and tasty, instead of the usual English muffin, this dish had pancakes underneath the eggs. We also got Colorado burrito, the portion size was filling, and the green chili sauce was WOW. Service was fast and they are happy to adapt, esp if you need to substitute a side for dietary preferences. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is located in the same lot/strip mall as Safeway, so there's plenty of parking available. The menu is HUGE and so much sounds good, so good luck deciding. I ordered the country fried steak, which comes with eggs, a choice of a potato type (I got hashbrowns) and a choice of bread (I got an English muffin). Everything was cooked well and was super flavorful, and portions were huge! Definitely come hungry. The staff were super friendly and always came to check if we needed refills or anything else. We definitely considered coming back during our stay in Estes but ran out of time. Would absolutely recommend!

    Huge portions and great substitutions

Wonderful service, atmosphere and food! Dont know which is better! The views, the birch wall, the great service amd friendly staff or the excellent fresh hot food! We loved it all! Just remember there is always a crowd here so bring your patience ;)

It was that good the first time that we decided to come back and do it all over again the next day. Parking is somewhat limited, but we arrived early on weekday mornings and had no trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is charming from the outside, with a colorful "Greetings from Estes Park" old postcard mural that makes for a great photo opportunity. Inside, the atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and both days we were lucky enough to snag a window booth. Our first experience set the tone right away. We walked in just as a server was arriving for her shift. Noticing nobody was at the host stand, she seated us before even putting away her personal belongings. That's customer service. For breakfast, I ordered a special that I can't seem to find on the menu now--an Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. I debated swapping the greens for potatoes but decided to be healthy. To my surprise, the dish was served on crispy potato pancakes instead of an English muffin, which meant I got the best of both worlds. The combination was fantastic, and honestly, I think Eggs Benedict works even better on potato pancakes than on bread. Every bite was packed with flavor. The next morning, I made myself try something different, even though I was tempted to order the same thing again. I chose the Cambridge Skillet: smoked ham and bacon with jack and cheddar cheeses over seasoned ranch potatoes, topped with two over-easy eggs and creamy hollandaise. It was delicious and hearty, although my first day's breakfast still edged it out as my favorite. I also sampled my friend's whole wheat blueberry pancake. It was enormous and surprisingly flavorful. I especially appreciated that many of their sweeter breakfast options come with eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. It's a nice balance and makes for a more satisfying meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were consistently excellent on both visits. The Egg of Estes quickly became one of our favorite breakfast spots in Estes Park, and it's definitely somewhere we'll return on future trips.

My daughter enjoyed her Vive La France French Toast as well. Our waitress was very friendly and had good timing - there were no long waits for her to reappear, as sometimes happens elsewhere. You can beat the surrounding views and the hassle free parking! They roast their own coffee, have a large menu of coffee, tea, milkshakes, smoothies, toasts, burritos, bagels, and oatmeal. I think they had about five women behind the counter. As I stated this place is popping and I loved seeing a properly staffed shop! It was warm out and I didn't want my standard iced americano. So I asked them if they could make me a cold brew lemonade and they happily obliged. 2/3 cold brew, 1/3 lemonade, I love this stuff. It sounds odd, but trust me, it goes down smooth on a hot day! Lots of space inside to sit, considering they have a hidden back room where the bathroom is with tons of seating. But the seasoned move is to sit outside on their patio or near the river if spots allow. I usually have a go-to in Estes that isn't Kind Coffee, but after a less than stellar experience there recently, this place might be my new spot. If you're willing to wait in a little bit of a line, you won't be disappointed here. Support your local coffee shops!

All symptoms point to food poisoning. We will not be back. This was our first visit to You Need Pie. What we liked: Our waiter was really hospitable, friendly, and did his best to provide service in a timely way despite being the only server available for all the customers. The coffee was decent, though in a small mug, and so was the hot chocolate we orders for the kids (which came with whipped cream, much to their delight!). The decor on the walls felt kind of scanty but what is there was cute. There is a pretty wide pie selection. Food serving sizes were okay. The single person bathroom was clean. What we didn't like: *The $2 veg add-ins of onion and jalapeños to the $12 omelette were raw. *The corned beef hash was extremely basic and barely seasoned, the potatoes were well cooked but bland and pale. It was edible but not worth $15. *Our party ordered a $9 bread bowl soup and waffle fries as well; it was eaten but the cheese ingredient was really overpowering in flavor - the small size was a good thing, in this case, because otherwise it couldn't have been finished. *The batter on the chicken tenders in the kid's meal were almost burnt on the edges, but still pale everywhere else. Something off with the oil temperature I guess. They didn't get eaten. *The color of everything was pretty much all beige and served on white plates, which impacted the impression of the meal - zero visual appeal. One of my favorite parts of eating at mom-and-pop diners is the way the meals feel homey, warming you from the inside out. This did not create that kind of impression. Lastly, the pie (which was the main draw for us and why we picked this dining option). We ordered one slice of rhubarb at $6.25. The pie was very disappointing - something in it was either stale or had gone bad. It tasted really unpleasant and we ended up throwing it away. Our total for everything was about $80 with tip and it was sadly not money well spent. We love stand alone dining options but probably will not be returning.
