I met a friend at Brunch Cafe-Kildeer for lunch on a Friday. It was half full when we arrived. I ordered the black and white Belgian waffle and my friend ordered the salmon English muffin. The Belgian waffle was delicious. Our sever was very nice and friendly. We were able to sit and visit for a while after we were done eating. For great food and ambiance, I highly recommend Brunch Cafe-Kildeer.

We have been to other Brunch Cafes, but this was our first visit to the Kildeer location. Although a busy lunchtime on Saturday, we were seated right away. (They do offer the ability to join a waitlist on their website but we didn't do that this time.) The place was full - and it is fairly loud in there. The ceilings are high and there is no sound baffing anywhere. If you don't like going to restaurants where it is loud, you may want to bring earplugs... Like their other locations, their menu is extensive. There are a lot of lunch and breakfast options. Two of our party shared a veggie omelet and I had chilaquiles. Both were enormous and outragiously good. The service was also great. So, if in the Kildeer area at any brunch time, Brunch Cafe is a great choice.

This place hopping when we came on a weekend day around lunch time. The servers were sooo busy, getting our order in took a good 20 min of just waiting. At least we got our drinks first. Unfortunately, the cold brew was really bad, it tasted just like normal coffee diluted with iced water. Makes me wonder if it was really cold brew since it had the acidic and bitter flavor you get with heat extraction and none of the bean flavors. Kids for an original Belgium waffle which was fine, but can't go wrong with it. Our oldest got an original Benedict and didn't like it as much, she gave it a 2/5. She left the hashbrown even tho she'd normally eat those. Husband got Thai salad, which was very mediocre, the sauces were more sour and savory than sweet. But I liked that it was actually some dark leafy varieties. Now onto my portobello scrambler, the mushroom was really good, but everything else was very mediocre. The presentation was also lacking creativity. Fruits were fresh and cut to easy to bite sizes. The toasts were also just very mediocre, doesn't have the wheat fragrance but has a darker flavor but not from the process of toasting it. It's just ok. Everything was very mediocre, what you'd expect from a very bland breakfast joint. Nothing really stands out. I think they could do better with plating, garnish, and increasing the intensity of unique flavors more.

totally a hidden treasure. the avocado toast was ridiculous. i particularly looooved the bread, really warm and crunchy. the grapefruit juice was fresh and seemed to be squeezed in-house.. our food was out in an instant. this place has the quality and service of an eminent breakfast restaurant without the wait or crowd.

Went for breakfast, very friendly people in management and counter along with the server. Had the best biggest cappuccino along with two eggs over medium, delicious hashbrowns, bacon and sourdough toast.

I've been to Brunch Café a couple of times now, and it's always been excellent. The owner is warm and inviting, but also realistic about how long you might wait. And on the weekend you will probably wait because this is a very popular place. So many options and I've never tried something that isn't delicious. Love their skillets! Huge offerings that can make several servings and at amazing prices! They are so great about accommodating families. When I've gone in the past with a couple kids or today when we had 6 adults and 7 kids, 2 of which were in high chairs and 2 with boosters---they handle it so well! A large kids menu and they gave them all this cool wax to play with. The kids made me an adorable wax heart, lol! They bring water and any additional drinks for the kids in covered plastic cups with straws. And then a nice bonus of Dum Dum suckers at the register! Our server was so patient and so good at handling our orders! We had a lot going on and it was nearly perfect. One item was forgotten but we were a big table, so I get it. We lived through it, lol! She was very personable and her memory was mind blowing. I love Brunch Cafe and will continue coming back with my friends!

There's something for everyone on the menu. Breakfast option, lunch option and even salads. I had a hard time choosing. I got the potato crusted omelet. The omelet was coated in hashbrowns for a twist. It was large and I could only eat half. Service was fast. Prices reasonable.

I checked the app before we went for Friday lunch to get on the waitlist and there was no wait. We arrived and were seated right away - no wait. Service was very good this time. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I ordered the Power Bowl - quinoa, kale, Italian sausage, basted eggs, no cheese. (There is probably something I'm missing.) The portion size was good - I was able to finish the whole thing and not walk out uncomfortable. All in all, this was a very good experience.

Greetings, When I…read moretry to share the best of the best, I often find that one-off locations tend to make the most impact on me. The latter is what makes First Watch's Kildeer location even more impressive...a growing chain stakes its claim on my best of the best list for BOTH breakfast and lunch. I knew of First Watch in Florida...and I eyed their expansion into Illinois with some skepticism. I love being wrong...especially when a territory expansion seems to be so successful. Judging by the bustling buzz that seems to be the norm in the Kildeer location, I think the local fan base turnout indicates that First Watch earned respectable street cred within the community. Their outlot location just off Rand Road sits in a comfortably proud manner. Exterior decor and landscape tell you that a lot of thought went into design. The wonderful aromas of cooking that might greet you walking up to the front door tell you that you're approaching a serious contender for great eating. Inside decor continues the trend. Smart, clean, cozy, and inviting...all vibes I think are a treat to feel in a restaurant. Coffee= superb...every time. A HUGE bonus for me to enjoy. I bet you'll appreciate the mini thermos left on the table so you can self-medicate at your own pace... Menu offers impressive recipes with rotating seasonal options that are creative, not overdone, and tantalizing. The basics all look great, I tend to focus on the hash which is always Outstanding! This five star spot shines in flavor development. Each bite a medley of well orchestrated flavors. The seasonal SoCal hash I ordered was off the chart great but arrived at the table a touch cool...a very rare gaffe. Even the flatware and the service pieces impart a feeling of stepped up quality. The oatmeal and million dollar potatoes were wonderful. Service is among the best...staff hustle and get things right the first time. I appreciate the level of care given to cleanliness throughout, especially the bathrooms. I have a ten minute plus drive to get to First Watch...it's worth the trip every time...May you find it to be so for you when you decide to check out this bustling hotspot for yourself. If there is a First Watch location closer to you than Kildeer, go them a try as I bet it's great, too! Until next time...tk

We enjoyed Easter lunch at Stony River!…read more We started with the deviled eggs appetizer. They were delicious! The best candied bacon pieces I've ever had on top. Then the yolk filling was full of relish and chunky pickles, yum. Next up, four entrees...Cobb Salad takes the top ranking with the perfect portion of dressing, excellent bacon and avocado with perfectly cooked chicken breast. They forgot the egg, I was originally sad, but the salad with its mixed greens was amazing. My son got the bigger cut filet. It was thick! He loves medium rare, but with the height of the filet, he should have done medium to avoid the purple inner center. He got the truffle fries, honestly, awful, no potato, just skinny fried fries...pick another side. The salmon is up next with a pretty aggressive seasoning, a bit spicy. Very well cooked and huge portion, but get fresh cooked if you don't love spice. The Bistro Chicken, again, excellent. Great portion and yummy lemon and caper topping. The problem with the mains are the sides. The sides are the reason for 4 vs 5 stars. The broccoli was fine, but has that raw, earthy flavor versus buttery and or salty, our preference. The server we had was kind and attentive. She deserved 5 stars. She was great! Check them out for the mains, but more research needs to be done on picking the best sides...my guess...upgrade to a side salad or soup!

We made one, just in case. The inside is nice but not pretentious feeling for a steakhouse. It looked like there was a lot of seating at the bar open - might try that out if we come back. We were celebrating our anniversary, so that was noted on our little reservation card & our server acknowledged this - but nothing was done to really wow us or make us feel like we were celebrating until the very end of our meal (more on this in a bit). The food was pretty good - we both got some sort of meat. I got the prime rib and I was seriously missing some sort of horseradish sauce. The cut of meat though was very good and not super fatty, so extra points for that. The portions are very generous, so we didn't have room for dessert. After we paid, our server remembered it was our anniversary and offered us champagne.. it was nice, but a total afterthought. I was SO full that I really couldn't drink it. Lastly, the parking. The lot is shared with all of the other businesses in the mall area, so just beware. It might be better to park behind and walk through the path.

Compared to similar restaurants in this space, I prefer to go here with friends for its generally quieter atmosphere and overall vibe. Maybe the biggest complaint here is that the food preparation can be a bit inconsistent between dishes, and between different meat types. That is, that the output can range from delicious to somewhat average (and sometimes overcooked), depending on what you order. For example the birria was super flavorful and served with very crisp tacos and a delicious consomme, but the cilantro-lime rice and refried beans felt like an afterthought. The smoked pork belly quesadillas had a great flavor and just about the right amount of fattiness that was short of perfection due to the pork being overcooked. The tres leches cake also had a great creaminess and flavor to it, but parts of the cake weren't really soaked in the milk at all, which created an inconsistent experience - depending on where I took the bite. On everything I tried though, the presentation was excellent and there were enough great things about each dish to overcome some of the shortfalls. Overall though, I feel with improved execution on ensuring that all elements of the dishes are equally good in terms of texture and flavor -- there's a lot to love about Ancho & Agave. But even in its current state, it's still an enjoyable spot to take a group of friends for tasty food in an impressive looking spot.
