Met up with some friends for brunch on Sunday at this Brunch Cafe. It was such a lovely place. Most importantly, the staffs are so friendly, patience, and understanding. We haven't seen each other for a while, so we were busy catching up instead of deciding what to order. Our wait staff never rushed us even though we took a while to decide (because we were talking too much!). I loved that I could upgrade the option of pancake to specialty French toast. The food was great, and the apple French toast was just the right amount as a side. Everyone at the table enjoyed their foods. Decided to go for a breakfast date and my wife wanted me to try the Churro Waffles. We arrived around 8 am and we were seated immediately. I ordered OJ and my wife got coffee. The OJ was freshly squeezed and was refreshing. My wife said rhe coffee was pretty good. We ordered the Churro waffles and Chilaquiles. I decided to order the Chilaquiles although I don't like soggy nachos. The Churro waffles was really, really good. I wish I wasn't sharing it. It was sugary with cinnamon, it was crispy and fluffy. I would highly recommend it. The Chilaquiles was spicy ans good but yes, I still don't like soggy nacho chips. Hey, I tried but I'm sure that I'm never going to order it again in the future. It was good and eggs were cooked just as I wanted. Overall, I'd come back to Brunch Cafe. The service was great in the food came out pretty quick. read more

We walked in and were seated quickly despite a 10-minute wait time. The house coffee was smooth and refreshing. We ordered the veggie panini and California crepe. Service was fast, and both dishes tasted great. However, as a vegetarian, I was disappointed to find shredded chicken in my panini. The manager was very apologetic, waived the cost of the sandwich, and assured us this was an unusual mistake. Aside from that, we enjoyed our meal. I met a friend at Brunch Cafe-Kildeer for lunch on a Friday. It was half full when we arrived. I ordered the black and white Belgian waffle and my friend ordered the salmon English muffin. The Belgian waffle was delicious. Our sever was very nice and friendly. We were able to sit and visit for a while after we were done eating. We have been to other Brunch Cafes, but this was our first visit to the Kildeer location. Although a busy lunchtime on Saturday, we were seated right away. (They do offer the ability to join a waitlist on their website but we didn't do that this time.) The place was full - and it is fairly loud in there. The ceilings are high and there is no sound baffing anywhere. If you don't like going to restaurants where it is loud, you may want to bring earplugs... Like their other locations, their menu is extensive. There are a lot of lunch and breakfast options. Two of our party shared a veggie omelet and I had chilaquiles. Both were enormous and outragiously good. The service was also great. So, if in the Kildeer area at any brunch time, Brunch Cafe is a great choice. read more

This place hopping when we came on a weekend day around lunch time. The servers were sooo busy, getting our order in took a good 20 min of just waiting. At least we got our drinks first. Unfortunately, the cold brew was really bad, it tasted just like normal coffee diluted with iced water. Makes me wonder if it was really cold brew since it had the acidic and bitter flavor you get with heat extraction and none of the bean flavors. Kids for an original Belgium waffle which was fine, but can't go wrong with it. Our oldest got an original Benedict and didn't like it as much, she gave it a 2/5. She left the hashbrown even tho she'd normally eat those. Husband got Thai salad, which was very mediocre, the sauces were more sour and savory than sweet. But I liked that it was actually some dark leafy varieties. Now onto my portobello scrambler, the mushroom was really good, but everything else was very mediocre. The presentation was also lacking creativity. Fruits were fresh and cut to easy to bite sizes. The toasts were also just very mediocre, doesn't have the wheat fragrance but has a darker flavor but not from the process of toasting it. It's just ok. Everything was very mediocre, what you'd expect from a very bland breakfast joint. Nothing really stands out. totally a hidden treasure. the avocado toast was ridiculous. i particularly looooved the bread, really warm and crunchy. the grapefruit juice was fresh and seemed to be squeezed in-house.. our food was out in an instant. this place has the quality and service of an eminent breakfast restaurant without the wait or crowd. read more

I've been to Brunch Café a couple of times now, and it's always been excellent. The owner is warm and inviting, but also realistic about how long you might wait. And on the weekend you will probably wait because this is a very popular place. So many options and I've never tried something that isn't delicious. Love their skillets! Huge offerings that can make several servings and at amazing prices! They are so great about accommodating families. When I've gone in the past with a couple kids or today when we had 6 adults and 7 kids, 2 of which were in high chairs and 2 with boosters---they handle it so well! A large kids menu and they gave them all this cool wax to play with. The kids made me an adorable wax heart, lol! They bring water and any additional drinks for the kids in covered plastic cups with straws. And then a nice bonus of Dum Dum suckers at the register! Our server was so patient and so good at handling our orders! We had a lot going on and it was nearly perfect. One item was forgotten but we were a big table, so I get it. We lived through it, lol! I will first start out by saying we love Brunch Cafe and we think the Deer Park location is the most consistent and best location. The food is 5 stars! Our go to is the Butcher Omelet and the Cubano sandwich. The Cubano sandwich is a must if you have not tried it yet! I love the butcher omelet done as a scramble with cheddar cheese. Coffee is Intellegentsia and is excellent. The service was 1 star! We were there last Saturday late morning at 11:30. The service is usually exceptional, but they had a really off day. Also the air conditioning was not working and it was very humid and uncomfortable inside the restaurant. The response from the manager and hostess to people complaining was "It's turned all the way down". I get it: it was a very hot day, but that answer is unacceptable. Instead of apologizing and saying we are calling out a tech to check the air conditioning. People would have been more willing to accept that and sympathize. As a business I would hope they were calling a HVAC company to check it out and not accepting those conditions for their customers! Also, the server was struggling to keep up as her area was full (other areas of the restaurant not so full). I think she was new and she was doing a great job of trying to keep up without any help from 3 hostess standing around talking as well as a couple of other servers. We counted 5 people standing around the front desk while our server struggled to keep up with coffee and ice water. She had to go back for glasses and cups as her station was not getting replenished. The Manager (who is usually very helpful filling coffee and water was missing in action most of the time, but came around toward the end of our visit), possibly a problem in the kitchen? Our food was late coming out per their usual expediency (possibly kitchen issues as well as HVAC?). Brunch Cafe should train the hostesses to pitch in when they have time instead of gabbing at the front desk when there are no customers to service. Also, we had a $5 reward to use from the loyalty program, but it was not applied as the manager explained they changed they were switching loyalty systems and were encountering some issues with current rewards. The manager did honor the reward manually. Very disappointing visit, but will not deter us from visiting again. read more

There's something to be said about a place that does online Yelp waitlists.. just makes life so much easier! Walked in today (Saturday) and since it was early it still wasn't super busy but it's still nice seeing that online waitlist. They sat us right away and our waitress came and brought us waters as we were sitting down. The restaurant itself is fairly large inside, lots of booths and regular tables. Definitely accommodating for larger groups if you wanted to get together for a large brunch party. I got the Nacho scrambler and I'm not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't the huge plate that came out to me! This thing was monstrous and I have enough food leftover for two more meals. Came with a side of hash browns (or you can choose house potatoes or fruit) and I got the pancakes (or you can get toast). Everything was yummy! Have to say food & service were excellent considering there looked to be an overworked waitress serving us and trying to keep tables serviced. Only complaint was the wait time for the food. Way over 35 minutes and with 2 kids - too long! Then approached by a not too friendly manager (?) who wanted to know how things were going. I am going to start this review saying that my visit was on Mother's Day. I understand the crowds and craziness on such a day. The food was outstanding! We had a party of 8 and everyone truly enjoyed our meals. The service left a lot to be desired(remember it's a holiday) however simple things seemed to be issues. We all received our food and we still had not received silverware. It was another 5+ minutes before we could get some even after asking right away. We also asked for some condiments and those took well over 10 minutes so some food was starting to get cold. Overall I would definetly go back on a much less crazy day. The food was well worth it! Well, it is Father's Day and while we usually love this spot, service today was distressing. We had to ask for silverware after our food arrived and after waiting even longer, I went to the hostess stand to request some. Our drinks went unrefilled the entire time. And, you'd think after requesting (and being given) to-go boxes, we'd get the check. Nope. Waited and waited before finally going to the hostess stand to pay and check out. The South Beach was good, but maybe because we had to wait too long for silverware, the cinnamon roll French toast (usually quite good) was NOT good today. Pretty average trendy brunch place. I went for the special at the time, which was the thanksgiving sandwich with Turkey and cranberry sauce(?). It was pretty bland, but was a really big sandwich so I guess it made up for it lol. The sweet potato fries were soooo good though. Visited this restaurant for the first time on an early Saturday morning during Covid. They are practicing social distancing wearing masks as well. The menu is fairly extensive for breakfast place and the service was incredibly friendly and helpful. The portions are fair if not definitely generous and cooked fresh and brought to your table. Usually breakfast places that make the house the potatoes keep them cooked and ready to go and simply plate them however here they were actually hot. It is located in a strip mall therefore it is sheer parking and at the hour which we arrived it was ample and abundant. What a delicious place. We were helped as soon as we walked in and they sat us down. Our waitress came by and asked if we wanted any drinks. The menu is packed with breakfast/brunch and lunch items. There were so many things to choose from you were lucky to make up your mind. Some of the items were things you know well and count on for a meal out. Some of the items were original and delightful combinations. Some things sounded awful to me but delish to others. It was busy, sort of loud as far as voices being heard but not so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. The tables were far enough apart that you did not feel like you were breathing on the person next to you. Two of us ordered lunch and two order breakfast skillets. It wasn't just our table, other tables were getting frustrated. We waited an hour to get our food. You know you're going to have a rush with Mother's Day. Be prepared for it. 2. When our food arrived it was cold. Probably just sitting there... we waited for an hour for this food and when it arrived the order was wrong and the rest of the food was cold. The food tasted like there was no love put into it. 3. Cleanliness - place was kinda dirty. We also received a coffee with something weird in the drink. We had to return that too. (Side note, the coffee was watered down too) I usually do not vent this much, but our experience today was not that great. There are other great breakfast places in the area. We stopped by for brunch around 11:15. Wait was only 15 minutes and it was PACKED. Our server, Nicki was a gem beyond words, she was sweet and attentive and made the meal really fun! I had a Buzzed Bunny mimosa and specially requested a pink peep. We waited for maybe 15-20 minutes before our food came out. Each bite for both my mother and I was beyond tasty. Nothing burnt, nothing unsavory. Each bite was better than the last. Gigantic portion sizes for very tasty food. They are opening up one in Arlington Heights but if that one doesn't satisfy me I def plan to make the drive out to this location. The whole room is decorated so chic and fun.
