At 8:30 on a Tuesday morning, I was the only customer. The venue is upscale Michigan coney/diner and is clean. Service was attentive and swift. Parking is plentiful. I ordered a veggie omelette with (crispy) hash browns and substituted a pancake for toast. The omelette has the veggies mixed in with the eggs themselves, not a fold-over style. It was expertly repaired. The crispy hash browns were just as ordered. The pancake was very good, not a gummy mess and the syrup did not have an aftertaste of artificial sweeteners. The place is always busy. The staff greets you at the door. It is usually loud regardless of how many people are there. I usually get the Maurice salad it is good I have had better especially when they don't have olives in the salad. The dressing is great and has a a lot of flavor but they don't usually give you enough for the whole salad. The Rueben is good but you need to ask for light Sauerkraut or most of the sandwich will be filled with it. The avocado toast is just avocados and bread nothing else to it. We waited a few minutes for an update - no update so after half an hour after placing an order we got up and left. There is very rarely a wait and we go in the morning so it's usually the busy time the food never takes too long everything always looks amazing. Having grown up in Detroit, I had to try the Maurice salad, which I often had at Hudson's. It was excellent and loaded with meat and cheese. The menu is extremely extensive, and there is something for everyone's palate. We got there at about 11:15 AM, / 1130. The crowd started pouring in. That's a place that i'm definitely going back to. Solid breakfast fare, spotty service Was in the area and this was one of the few places open when I'm up normally. So I went here to get some decent breakfast grub. I came in and the servers were all milling about at the front podium. It takes them a few seconds before someone addresses me. I get led to a table and get a menu. Looking through the menu, I see they do a bananas foster oatmeal and a strawberry shortcake stuffed French toast. I ask the server if I could get the toppings of the oatmeal on the French toast. She goes to ask and they deny the ask. I then ask if they got ice cream, which they only have vanilla. So I get their apple cinnamon French toast, but ask for a scoop of ice cream on the side. Order comes out, ice cream is put on top as a garnish. Slightly upset, but I dig in regardless. The French toast is pretty good. It's a freshly made cinnamon raisin bread, which you don't usually see. The apples are mostly rendered, but still have some chew. The custard is solid, the cream cheese was sweetened and the ice cream was of decent The only detractor in terms of quality was the cheap canned whipped cream they put on the plate. Easy enough to throw away though Price was high for the quality. But it was good, and cooked well. It's a good spot for breakfast, they just need to be more open to requests read more

As for the waffle take what I say with a grain of salt. I ordered the chicken waffle. 14 dollar price point for what they give you 3 chicken tenders and a waffle. The waffle is bland. They give you 3 frozen chicken tenders on top of it. Not a fan. If I wanted to eat frozen brand chicken tenders. I'd go to Meijer. Service was generous and the setting is nice. If I go again to try other food. I may update this review. But right now I cannot justify more than 3 stars. read more

Came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Walked in and seated right away. Staff was very welcoming and the service was very nice. Ambiance is very casual. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delish! I waited maybe 25-30 minutes for my food and I was okay with that. The food was very good, especially the pancakes! The apples weren't mushy and were cooked to perfection. The food is good and the staff is kind. My only grief is it's a bit pricey, and I have never been there for less than 1.5 hours between waiting to sit down and waiting for food to come. Yesterday it took almost an hour to get a crepe, an omelette with pancakes, and a skillet to our table. Take-out orders seem to get priority over those seated inside which is frustrating. My large family of 6 adults and 3 toddlers stopped by this place for breakfast. We got there pretty early so the hostess was able to put together a few tables fairly easily for our large party. As we were waiting for the table, the waiter was kind enough to put in an order for our kids who were getting hangry. We ordered a variety of food and overall they were all pretty good! The coffee could have been a better but overall we had a good experience here and would be back. We recommended it to our friends who stopped by later and they also enjoyed their meal. As a black person, I get to live with the stereotypes of how the service industry views us when tipping. Because I know this, I am hypersensitive to how I'm treated by the service industry. The wife and I tried this place yesterday. We saw our server twice: to take our order and the bring the bill. Never checked in the table a single time. I'm not exaggerating. I found this place by accident when my cell's gps wasn't working and was driving the area for breakfast with my daughter. Interior has kind of Mexican feels to it I thought which is not a bad thing. it's just that was different than I imagined from the restaurant's name. Waiter came and greeted right away but it took a while til they brought glasses of water and also they weren't good at checking often for refills. I had greek omelet which was big portion and tasty. I loved the home made tzatziki sauce. Ive never had with omlet so it was new to me. My daughter had chocolate pancakes it had little too much chocolate chips and too sweet even for my daughter so wish it had less. The price is fair for the quality and portion size. Another one of our 'go-to' brunch spots again in this area ; more so - if we are headed a little north of our house. This place is specially attractive to us because of the extensive variety of items on their Menu. Almost everything that you can possibly think of for breakfast / brunch is served at the Brunch Cafe. They do a good job at Mediterranean items ; so I ordered a Greek Omelette with Fruit and pancakes. Wife ordered a veggie skillet and the kiddo went in for marshmallows french toast with nutella. Service is good but the place is always very busy on a Sunday. We had to wait 25mins to get a table and it was past noon. Its right by the Mall too; so if we are shopping and we want a bite, this would be a really good spot. A local favorite for breakfast and brunch. Usually I see a lot hospital workers come here for breakfast. I like their breakfast menu, pancakes, eggs hash browns. Service usually very fast and nice. Nothing really special compared with other diner but breakfast menu is good so if you want some pancakes it is worth a try. Food is good here but there is a waitress by the name of Rita who is horrible. She is mean and rude to all customers. People don't even want to go in there because of her. The rest of the staff is nice, just not her. This employee will really hurt the business at this restaurant! The open truss ceiling is metal and doesn't absorb sound well, so it was rather loud and could be difficult to converse. Very kid/family friendly though. Value: Most items on the menu were in the $13/$14 range. I felt it was in line with/maybe a little higher than the other coney islands in the area but reasonable for the quality/quantity of food. Bad coffee! Thin and weak, I'm so disappointed when I get bad coffee at a breakfast place. I ordered the Greek omelette and it was quite large, stretching across the plate. Unfortunately, the eggs weren't even the least bit fluffy. I like a fluffy omelette. The filling (gyro meat, tomatoes, and onions) was tasty, as was the Tzatziki sauce. The accompanying hash browns were nicely browned, but had an unpleasant oily aftertaste. I would not order an omelette again. My husband was very happy with his corned beef skillet. He liked the plentiful corned beef, and his over-medium eggs were cooked correctly. He could have done without the green peppers, and would ask them to be left off when ordering the hash again. I had to wait about 20 minutes before I was seated. Side note (if your whole party is not there when it time to be seated you will have to wait until everyone has arrive). I thoughly enjoyed my food. I ordered the chicken fajita skillet with chocolate chip peanut butter pancakes. I had my eggs scrambled for my skillet. The prices are very reasonable for good food. The wait staff was really nice. In the mist of all the chaos with the restaurant being super busy, the wait still did a great job being attentive to each customer. Third visit: Chicken tenders with French Fries and the Two by Two breakfast with buttermilk pancakes. The breakfast food has been excellent each time. I am from Livonia and this is my favorite restaurant in the city. So many amazing options on its sizable menu. My personal favorites are the mixed berry French toast (best French toast I've ever had) and the chicken pita wrap (best chicken pita wrap I've ever had). One time I went here with my grandparents, cousin and brother. My brother did not want to go because he said his ex worked there. I had never met this ex and didn't know what she looked like, so I texted him when I got there that she wasn't there. He showed up, and to his horror, she was. He was angry at me and tried to hide his face in his hoodie. I'm sure he liked his food though, because everything at Brunch is delectable! read more
