Sunday afternoon at 1:30, the place was dead but yet our food came out cold. Not impressed with their brunch food whatsoever and the cleanliness of the place leaves something to be desired. There is a coating of dust on everything, so don't look up; and cobwebs too, ugh. Our server was nice enough, but kept filling my 'water, no ice' from a pitcher of water with ice. Won't be coming back here.

Wow I was surprised by how packed it was for a Tuesday night. The entire packing lot was full! Thank god my friends and I made a reservation. It took awhile for our ciders to get to us. We got: - honeycrisp cider: it tasted like apple nice and I wish there was more carbonation. - chicken Caesar wrap with cosmik fries: I enjoyed this a lot! I will say that the portion is actually a little smaller than the wraps in NYC. I paid the $1 to have the salad become a wrap and for the fries. However my friends and I were surprised that they charged $0.60 for a side of ranch lol. - supper club wrap: I tried my friend's and I prefer the chicken Caesar! This turkey and cheese seemed like grocery store slices.

No wait at noon on Sunday. I had w people in my party. We had water and a delicious spicy bloody mary within minutes. I ordered an order of Cosmik fries and a Cobb salad with Romaine instead of mixed greens. My guest had lobster macaroon and cheese. She loved it. Portions were very generous. Compostela straws and to go containers got a bit soggy.

After a short wait, we were seated and our waiter greeted us with a smile. This place has a large beer section but they were out of a few of our first choices, thus the 4 stars. I enjoyed a honey crisp beer and others had a Marquette IPA and a dark beer. To start, we had the cheese curds which were crispy cubes of gooey cheese served with a ranch style dressing. Get the cheese curds- you won't regret it! My Caesar salad came with a nice serving of chicken breast. The grilled cheese was crispy and oozing with cheese. The Nashville Hot Sandwich with Kosmic fries was also good. All in all, an enjoyable experience!

Hopcat has been a go to for years. Their fries are too good, Cosmik Fries are a must have always! They've really elevated their cocktail offerings in the last few years, everything has been delicious. I tried their espresso martini last visit, Presto Espresso...SO GOOD. Their Mac and Cheese was phenomenal and way more filling than anticipated. My only complaint would be the to go containers. The compostable boxes are not pasta friendly and most of the box ended up getting stuck in the food when reheating. This is a great spot to meet up with friends. Despite being known for their adult drinks, they're very kid friendly and the arcade is a great way to keep kids entertained while waiting on food.

I am much older than the normal demographics and been eating out as long as those in it been on earth so I was not impressed and so was my brunch lunch eating out group. The food was average at best especially the Mac and Cheese I had. Another complained that the bacon on her sandwich was under cooked. Only was the fries was a hit. Service was below average by not coming back enough to check on the table and also had to remind about refills and take home boxes. A star was taken off for that. I always take off a star off for Pepsi products instead of Coke products. While it is easy to get to and plenty of parking, I won't be back. I have been to this chain for 3 times. Don't need to come again.

Now that I have been here about 4 times, I wanted to share some thoughts. I like Hopcat! The large spaces open and bright with many windows. There is very nice outdoor seating and I have to mention that the bathrooms were updated well and they are cared for. I have ordered mostly apps, burgers and the fish and chips! I really do enjoy the fish and chips with the crispiness and the generous portion and what seems like homemade tartar sauce! Very good! the onion rings are fried to perfection and the pretzel nuggz are a nice shareable. The burgers are very good! Juicy, flavorful and many ways to order with different cheeses and various toppings. Each time I have visited Hopcat, the service has been splendid! I have also brought a large group and the service did not suffer, it was quite efficient. I will continue to return here. It's very pleasant.

I am glad that I ordered the savoury mac and cheese.

Weeks before the announcement, a friend and I were discussing potential replacements for Claddagh, left empty since Dec 2019. I loved Claddagh and will miss its fish and chips and Reuben sandwiches. I thought either Jolly Pumpkin or Hopcat would be a good replacement given the interest in microbreweries. I was pleased to see that Hopcat would open up even though I've never been to any of its locations - I guessed right! I waited impatiently for the opening and was in the neighborhood (at Mitchell's) when the soft opening was taking place. Like everyone else, I had heard about the fries and was eager to try them. The restaurant was partially full when I arrived after the lunch rush but there was still a wait. A slight one for me but others had longer ones. Whereas Claddagh was very dark and had numerous rooms, as expected of an Irish pub, Hopcat is bright and cavernous. Garage doors at the front open up to a patio. Despite the sunny, summer day, the doors were not open nor was anyone dining out. A bar is at the center of the main dining area. It had the requisite TVs and was surrounded by numerous high tops. Booth seating was available along the sides of the space. Along the perimeter of the restaurant are low tops. There is another room in the back. I ordered the elotes to start. I love elotes and was excited to try this restaurant's version. I found it to be very dense, overcooked even, tasting more like a flourless corn cake, than a dip. I did not enjoy it. I also thought the fries were overrated. The seasonings on them were tasty but the fries were a bit dried out. The burger, however, was delicious. There were 8 on the menu, including vegan and turkey. I went with the Hangover Helper which included a perfectly fried egg, lovely bacon strips, and a hash brown. Hash brown, oh, happy days! I also ordered mac and cheese as a side. I didn't see it on the menu but my server indicated it was available. The cup of mac was coated in a savory cheese sauce and quite yummy. I liked the server. I thought she was pleasant and informative and I noted that she hopping. There seemed to be a lot of people hanging around the hostess stand but not a ton of servers throughout the restaurant.

I have loved HopCat since college days in East Lansing! Over time the menu has changed but I felt the food remained great, until now. We got the rodeo and cowboy burgers for pick up. Online ordering was very easy and customizable with exceptional staff at the host stand. It was busy when I picked up however I was helped fast and easy. Despite the location being great and actual restaurant nice and clean. The food was just not good. Those burger Pattie's seemed to be frozen grocery store burgers. There was absolutely no flavor and they weren't cooked well at all. There wasn't much for the toppings on the burgers despite us getting burgers with several toppings. The fries were pretty good however not cooked fully. Sad day when HopCat burgers aren't good anymore. Hopefully things will change in the future so we can return

Love the atmosphere in this HopCat!! I've been to the Royal Oak, Detroit and East Lansing one and I think this one might be my new fav. We sat at the bar and ordered food up there as well. We really loved our bartender Jeremy! So personable & friendly. Side note I really wish the cheese ale soup would make a come back

The food always tastes fantastically fresh, and the beer hits the spot. I've had the reuben (so tasty) but the grilled chicken sandwich really absolutely blew me away. I didn't know it could make me so happy. On this occassion, I ordered the half-size caesar salad with grilled chicken, and I could feel happy and content that I'd gone the healthier route while still treating my tastebuds. Also, as if to go above and beyond in service, I had a nearby meeting and placed my take away order before my meeting kicked off, telling them what time I expected to be done. When my meeting finished? A freshly made lunch was waiting for me. Magical. Game changing. So happy. The only caveat I could say that it has a very small seating area, and, depending on whether or not there are conference-type events in VistaTech, it can get very busy very quickly. For that I would potentially knock it down to a 4.5 star, but the food and beer quickly makes up for it. So happy to see these kinds of food offerings to Schoolcraft's campus. They've done a stellar job, and it'd be nice to see them expand.

Craft Grille operates out of Schoolcraft College at Vistatech Center, and is located right next to American Harvest, another favorite restaurant of mine. The Brewing & Distillation Technology program creates the brews here, and I believe the food is cooked by students. On a Tuesday evening during the summer, the main parking lot was ripped up and closed off during construction, but I still found my way to the small pub underneath all the scaffolding. A ballgame was playing on the TV while the bartender was chatting with the sole guest at the bar. I knew that I would be having the Porto in Paradise Burger, but I still glanced at the menu to see what was available. Everything looked good and next time, I plan to have the BLT, wings, and parfait flight. The burger I ordered was served medium-rare, featured an 8oz steak patty, topped with a portobello mushroom, and Boursin and provolone cheeses. It was accompanied by a mound of the most amazing sage and roasted garlic fries. I did not expect to like the fries as much as I did. Service was fantastic. The bartender responded to my questions and kept the conversation going with the guests (now 3 of us) at the bar.

I told her no take it back. I wanted the fried pickles, but the table next to us got the last order. The server literally told them "bad news for everyone else, but good for them". Food was very low quality. My burger was very burnt and had no flavor to it. I wasn't a fan of the fries either, but that's a personal preference as I don't like "crispy fries". The chips were ok. Walked into the establishment at 1:05 pm was told by the hostess that I can just go in and sit where I wanted. So I proceed to sit at an open table set with silverware, pull my laptop out and wait for a server. By 1:30 pm I still had not been greeted by a waitress, given water or a menu. There are 2 active waitress and 4 other working a party in the party room right behind me, everyone has made eye contact with me but no acknowledgement, no give us a second we will be right with you just straight up being ignored. At 1:54 my husband calls me I voice my frustrations, just to paint the picture we were there for our family reunion picnic, we rented the gazebo had lunch, and played multiple rounds of golf. My husband came to the restaurant advised the hostess I never received a menu and no server has come to check on me. I was at the point of blowing up but o was also trying to finish work. Once the hostess was made aware a waitress came gave us menus, after giving her my drink order I had to ask "Is no one working this table or was I being ignored?" Her response was "O we're short staffed and have no runners" In return I stated "well I've been sitting right here for almost an hour and no one has come to serve or even acknowledged I was here" In return she apologized and claimed they just told her we were here. To which I responded "I'm sitting in the dining area where everyone is working and walking around me so how did you not see me" once again just an I'm sorry I didn't know." Which is pure bullshit. I was ignored multiple times because I AM BLACK!!! My family had the same experience when they came the previous Thursday to check the place out. That same day I had cousins come in to the bar sit in the middle and the bar tenders ignored them for 15 minutes before someone stopped them and said "Can we place an order we have been sitting here for a minute now" and the response was " I'm sorry I didn't see you". So now there have been 3 incidents where we were not seen because WE ARE BLACK! This is a restaurant with all Caucasian staff and all the customers were also Caucasian. So we will never be returning as the customer service is TRASH!!!!!!!! And they are RACIST!!!!!!!
