I enjoyed Brunch Holiday food truck at my favorite brewery recently. The night's 5 menu choices included some great dishes and I ordered the Union Jack bowl. A grit cake with sliced/grilled bangers and mushrooms, then covered with a rich brown gravy and a perfectly cooked medium fried egg. Omg, this was amazingly delicious! My husband also enjoyed the OG fried chicken sandwich, with maple bourbon bacon jam and fried egg. Both items were perfect with our beers and filled us up. The Brunch Holiday food truck is better than the average food truck, and I look forward to checking them out again.

Going in, fried chicken was just fried chicken to me. Well, no longer! The Brunch Holiday OG chicken sandwich is out of this world! A toasted bun, topped with an enormous amount of chicken, topped with an over medium egg and cheese (which sounded gross to me but the manager encouraged me to try it) and drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce changed the way I viewed a fried chicken sandwich. The egg was the perfect compliment to the chicken and the pickles just sealed the deal. Not to many, not too few. This sandwich is perfection. Can't wait to try the other menu items!

I had the opportunity to enjoy Brunch Holiday when they were parked at the Yeaman's Hall Canteen. I had the jerk chicken street tacos. Not only were they delicious and packed with flavor, but they were definitely a steal for how much food it was. My order contained four street tacos, which were filled to the brim with chicken (I had to use a fork for some of it), as well as a hashbrown on the side. My meal came out extremely fast, and you could tell that everything was prepared fresh. I am excited to catch them out and about again and try their OG chicken sandwich. They also have vegetarian and gluten-free options if you have those dietary restrictions.

It was Jammies day at work. What better way is there to eat from the brunch truck!?!?

If you're in the mood for English food, FIND BRUNCH HOLIDAY. Seriously. We split a poutine and then each ordered something different. I had the BESTM and I have no regrets. Menu changes, but the website has some staples: https://www.brunchholidayfoodtruck.com/ I'm thinking about stalking this food truck forevermore. The only downside was that it was quite a wait for food. This could have been exaggerated because it was cold outside.

Awesome food, friendly staff. Had the OG chicken sandwich- so much food! Will definitely be back. Their food truck is currently located at the new Yeamans Hall Food Truck Park in Hanahan.

It was so good I had to go back! The Brunch bowl is what I order both times ( I wish I tried something else) and the "grit balls" were delicious. Service was fast and prompt even with a full house. And the woman at the counter (she was in the kitchen and ran food, greeted guests as they pick up their food, possibly a chef) was EXTREMELY nice and outgoing. She seemed to really enjoy her position and kept order in the kitchen. Food was delicious if I haven't already said so, so much flavor, a Carolina quality kinda spot! I highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional, yet casual place to dine. Thank you Grit Counter!

The parking lot was packed, and most tables were already taken when we walked in, which is always a good sign. You order at the counter and then grab a seat while they bring the food out to you. The menu is extensive, with plenty of dishes built around grits (as the name suggests). I went with the chicken and waffles, and it was loaded with flavor--crispy fried chicken breasts, a Belgian waffle, chunks of bacon, and a blueberry compote on the side. The whole plate was enormous; I definitely didn't finish it. My husband ordered the fried chicken and fish platter with French fries, and it was equally generous in size. We also started with the grit fritters as an appetizer, and they were fantastic--crispy on the outside and a nice surprise inside. Overall, the food was really on point with big, satisfying portions. The waitstaff seemed super busy but stayed friendly and attentive. The only downside for me was having to bus your own table at the end. Prices for lunch felt a little high at first glance, but when you consider the huge portions, they're pretty reasonable. We'll definitely be heading back soon.

Are service was good, wait for food wasn't bad at all. Everything was done well... but I honestly didn't like much of it. It just really defined "not for me". Like the French toast was good except it was just drowning in syrup (rather than letting me put it on myself) and the rosemary flavor in the syrup was not to my taste. If this had been on the side I would have tried a bite and then just asked for regular maple syrup and been happy. The mocha donut, same story. The mocha was bitter and if this was on the side I could have dunked my donut in but instead I didn't have a choice. I'm not mad about it. They are clearly aiming for a particular mindset on food. Something different, something unique, something strongly defined. And I can appreciate and respect that and everything was definitely well executed! But I really would have preferred to have the option to have a more traditional set of flavor profiles. J.Ja

The first time we sat outside in their newly renovated outdoor patio, which was so nice and beautiful. Our server greeted us with some sweetened espresso and cinnamon, which was a nice treat. The empanadas here are insane and you must get this. This was probably the best empanada I've had at a restaurant. The second time we returned, we dined inside. The service was a bit slower this time and it took longer for us to get our food. We ordered some of their specialty coffees, which came in these cute mugs and glasses. This time we tried their Arepas de plantano that came with cheese and a mole sauce. This was also very good, especially with the sauce. We ordered the giant huevos rancheros platter to share and it truly did take up almost the entire table lol. They put all the toppings in separate dishes so you could build your own essentially. This was a lot of food and we had plenty leftover. This could've fed 4-5 people! The only disappointing thing about this was that we didn't get any steak as shown on the menu and just chicken. When we mentioned it the server who was very nice but didn't speak much English said she told us but I was completely unaware. Everything still tasted good but we did wish there was some steak along with the chicken. The French toast dish was decadent and sweet, but the bread itself was moist and crispy on the edges. There was a small discrepancy at the end with our bill because the price of the platter didn't match what was on the receipt. They were unable to adjust it but gave us a gift card for the balance. Overall we still had a good time and would definitely come back. It was much more of a unique brunch experience that I've had in Charleston so far.

The restaurant was packed, and we waited about 20 minutes just to be seated. Once we sat down, we ordered right away, expecting the kitchen to already be busy. However, we ended up waiting an entire hour for our food. About halfway through, we asked our server how much longer it would be, and the response was simply that there was "no telling" because they were very busy. While we understand restaurants can get busy, waiting an hour after ordering with no meaningful update is unacceptable. By the time our food finally arrived, we no longer had time to enjoy it. We had somewhere else to be and had to rush through our meal. Because of the long wait and frustration, I honestly can't say whether the food was amazing or not, it was overshadowed by the experience. The service itself was okay, and the atmosphere was okay, but neither made up for the excessive wait. We also overheard the table next to us, a party of two, talking about how they had already been waiting 40 minutes for their food, so it was clear we weren't the only customers frustrated by the delays. For a first visit, this was a very poor impression. We understand that busy restaurants can have longer wait times, but better communication and more realistic expectations would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience was enough that it will most likely be our first and last visit.

The girl was very helpful and giving us a separate gluten-free menu that allowed us to order for my husband. This place is a Latin/Asian infusion so we were very excited to see how the flavors played out since it is two of our favorite types of food. The best thing I had was the special, stir fried udon noodles with the steak. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the chili spice on it was amazing and it wasn't overly sauced. The steak that accompanied it was also delicious. The tomato cucumber salad was fresh, but could've used a little more salt in my opinion. The bao bun and tacos were also nice and great portions. I would say for me I didn't love the pad Thai in comparison to the many that I've had before, because it was a bit different in flavor profiles than what I'm used to. I wanted a little bit more of the fish sauce and tamarin flavor. You have to get their milkshakes, I'm sure all of them are great. But the one we have was absolutely decadent and delicious! We had more than enough food, and ended up taking a lot of it home. They were multiple people helping us, and they were all very nice and friendly. I'm coming back for the udon noodle dish!
