The price has gone up, but it is worth the money if you want to go out and have a nice lunch for a business, birthday or special occasion I highly recommend this place. Had heard about reír lunch bufete so decided to give it a try. Not sure who's been going on about their fried chicken, but they must not be from the south. The batter was bland and the chicken was over cooked. The Publix chicken at the grocery store has more favor. For 31$ including tax and no gratuity, one would expect more. I didn't get the 4$ tea and they sugested a 7$ tip. For a buffet?? At 12.95 it would have been just....ok. read more

I took friends and was totally embarrassed. Food was horrible. Took one hour to get food. Food came was all cold. The fried shrimp were not deceived after asking the server. Terrible. I ordered Flounder and shrimp and it was not good. Over cooked and cold. I ask for a salad with my dinner and I was told I could go to the salad bar. It was good with a good selection. Only problem was my small salad was $14.00 extra. One person got their food after everyone had eaten and it was terrible. We have been coming here for years and definitely will not be back. The server was alone and over worked. Friday night and bridge run. Everwhere in town was full. This place had only had four tables being served. I should have known. I know any restaurant can have an off night,but this was a horrible experience and I will never be back. Every few years I go to Trotter's because I've missed the breakfast window at most other breakfast restaurants and I go there because I forgotten why I haven't went back in so long. Yesterday, I was reminded why I don't go to Trotter's. Trotters is a nice hotel that tries to put forth a nice ambience. That I appreciate. The service is wonderful. I also appreciate that. The food always has me wondering how can you cook a potato and make it taste like absolutely nothing? How is it possible to offer bread for toast, That is so tough that you have to wonder if it's old? The coffee is good, but at four dollars a cup, it should be. The breakfast listed at 1199 for a basic breakfast with meat (I got no meat) was somehow jacked up to $23 because I ordered one piece of cheese with my eggs and maybe a tablespoon of onions in my hashbrowns. With tip my 1199 breakfast was $25. I overheard the waitress telling a young man if he wanted the breakfast bar it was $28 and some other variation of that that was $38. I can get a cheaper BETTER breakfast at Waffle House. The exact same food there with actual flavor, is $13.75. Who does trotters think they are? I can answer that from my perspective. They are the restaurant I will not recommend to anyone and will never return to. I will go to the grocery store and make a sandwich before I will go there. $25 for that? That is gouging, plain and simple. read more

They need to go ahead and cancel that restaurant it is so bad. They are literally serving $2 pizzas. Theit Valentine's Day meal that you had to buy a whole bottle of wine with the package. No other meals were served. So if you do not drink wine it was tough chitlins. You cannot make this up. So driving down Savannah highway I remembered all the happy hours I used to go to and the buffets at trotters restaurant so we pulled in. They didn't have a crowd at all. I really miss the buffets here. You would get so much cool points with The girl you was trying to impress by bringing her hair. Their seafood buffets used to be out of this world. I will give anything to revisit that or for them to bring that back. They have the same old menu. So I was skeptical. Everything was pretty good I have to admit. They definitely save the evening for me. I was seconds away from two women looking at me super crazy. I must say, the whole fried flounder stole the show. It had my mother talking about it for three straight weeks. And I got to be honest it was season perfectly and perfectly fried. It looks so impressive on the plate. I forgot the waiter's name right to hang out with his nephew we were real cool friends. His nephew died maybe a year and a half ago. So what's good seeing him and we reminisce for a minute. We both look completely different each other Father time is undefeated. Lol. My chicken parmesan was excellent. I judged my chicken parmesan by the leftovers. If it is still good and still breaded 3 days later I call that perfection. Everyone left out with stomach foods. The food came fast also. This restaurant was part of the Country Inn and Suites where we were staying. Upon checking at the hotel we got a $15 voucher for the restaurant since we booked direct with the hotel. You get one for each night you stay but they can only be used on specific days. We stopped in the restaurant upon our checkout. The restaurant is really lovely. The ceiling around the lights are recessed and have beautiful silver swirls that gives it a really classy feel. I could see it be used for special occasions or groups. They have a buffet section but it wasn't being used the day we were there. There are cloth napkins and the waitress was friendly. She brought us waters before taking our drink orders which then came quickly. The restaurant wasn't terribly crowded at 1030am on a Wednesday. The had 2 servers at the time. The waitress asked what we needed before the food came out and I got real syrup instead of sugar free and we got some orange marmalade. She brought it out and made a joke about "our apps". My husband had the Trotters Starter with eggs, hashbrowns, ham, and rye toast. I had French toast with toasted almonds on top. The food was good. read more

Visited this restaurant first week of May 2023 as recommended by a friend. We both ordered shrimp creole. The rice tasted like Uncle Ben's rice that was not fully cooked. The creole sauce appeared to be stewed tomatoes with some onion and celery with little to no seasoning. The shrimp were slightly over cooked. The best part of the meal was the corn muffin and slab of butter. The service was fine and the place was clean. Perhaps I should have ordered the specialty which was fried chicken. read more

We usually avoid hotel restaurants for dinner as they are usually horrible but being too tired to go out we decided to eat at Trotters and are very very happy we stay in. We shared a brilliant wedge salad loaded with a great dressing and plenty of blue cheese and bacon all accompanied by some warm corn muffins. My wife and I had two different chicken mains and both were excellent with creamy mashed potatoes and collards. We usually don't hit up many hotel lobby restaurants, but went here after hearing some good reviews. It was fairly empty when we arrived and we were seated immediately. After looking over the menu I asked the waitress what her favorite meal is, and she recommended the fried chicken, rice and collard greens. She did not let me down, this was an excellent meal full of flavor. It was complemented with some phenomenal corn bread as well. This was a great surprise in how good it was, and helped turn our opinion about hotel lobby restaurants. We will be back next time we are in the area! read more

You want a Sunday (or any other day, as I have been here before on weekdays) buffet? They have it all here. A salad bar that has enough salad fixings that you literally could eat just a salad and be quite full. As it was Sunday, there at the salad bar portion of the buffet, they were fixing omelets made-to-order. On the main buffet line, there also was a large slab of beef that was cut to order. Fried chicken? Oh yes, and it was quite good with a cornmeal tasting breading. Collard greens were tasty, although I was hoping for a smidge of ham hock in there for this Southern boy. So many, many things that I could write all day about the food, so let's move on quickly to the desserts. There was a slice of lemon meringue pie, but upon learning that there was banana pudding under a stainless steel top, I just "had" to go back for more dessert. The banana pudding with banana slices (some places do not have cut up bananas in them, but not here) and vanilla wafers. Not one of the five family members complained about the food, although it cost (without a tip which I added) in the range of $20 each. Yes, a bit expensive, but lord a mercy the amount of foot and the tastiness was excellent. Compliments also to Michael (shown as "Mike" on our bill) who was there about as quick as we needed him, whether to add coffee for one of us, or special needs. A great server. read more

The Mac-n-cheese and steamed veggies were really good but the mussels were slap yo mama good. They were garlic flavored but had a hint of heat. Hubby had The fried chicken and red rice. There were ample desert choices, from cheesecake to Boston cream pie. A carving station with ham or beef and a huge salad bar area. Our server Becky did a great job handling the entire floor solo. The buffet had all the accoutrements and then some. Amazing country bacon! Just stop right there...biscuits N gravy, real scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict's, pancakes, grits and a wide variety of fruits if that's your jam. Fresh juices and parfaits lined their serving station that I can only assume their master chefs create wonderful masterpieces. Coffee and iced water were always filled and you can and taste that southern love in every bite. Been there a few times. Nothing to write home about. Food is bland although there is a variety. People are not really friendly. Seems that you have to follow the rules or you get the evil eye. I really like the buffet style and all of the different items they have available as each one is tasty and delicious and good southern cooking. The staff were very friendly and there was no wait. However, the food was extremely mediocre. There are definitely better places to eat in CHS, and especially so for the price you pay here. We were told certain things were all inclusive, and this was not the case. They charge extra for every little thing. Including refills. By the time I left I was out well over $80.00 and this was for nothing more than two entrees with one side each and an appetizer plus drink refills. read more

I received an invite for a birthday brunch gathering at Trotters Restaurant. Truth be told, I wasn't too thrilled after seeing it only rated 3 stars. After eating there, I'm willing to bet if reviews for breakfast were separate from the other reviews, it'd be a solid 4 star rating! Since we had a rather large group, we had a room separate from the main breakfast buffet area. There were so many options on the buffet! There was a long table along the wall with numerous options such as corned beef hash, biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, pecan crusted french toast, breakfast potatoes, grits and more. There was also an omelet station. I didn't get an omelet but my mom did and the few bites of hers I had were VERY tasty. There was a spread of fresh fruit along with cups of Greek yogurt topped with some berries. There was granola and honey available to add in too. Everything was pretty good to really good and our whole group was happy with this hearty breakfast option. The service was a bit spotty at first... no one was around so I got up and got some coffee to serve myself and others at my table but after that initial hiccup, they were attentive and on point. If you're coming here for their breakfast buffet, have no fear, you'll leave stuffed and pleased! read more

In the land of the buffets this certainly is a solid breakfast option. We only had breakfast so I don't know about their evening menu or buffet. It's incredibly reasonable, very well presented, everything was hot and fresh. The service is fast & hospitable. The setting is very pleasant and modern. Of course the biscuits were a highlight, bacon, sausage, eggs, and serve several other options- about a dozen. Nice strong coffee. Very fresh fruit salad with a nice assortment. If you're staying close by this may be a better breakfast option to sit down in a comfortable environment enjoy a nice southern breakfast. read more

A work buddy took me here for lunch recently and to be honest I was apprehensive as am not a big fan of buffets. First thing that I noticed was the high end feel they were going for. The wait staff dressed very nice and and the tables looking like a fancy sit down and not a buffet. We got there just prior to them opening for lunch and were allowed to take a table and wait for them to start - very nice! My first stop was the salad bar which had tons of stuff from nice salad fixings, pasta, tuna salad, chicken noodle soup etc. It was apparent the salad bar could easily make for a very nice meal all by itself. I settled for a nice salad with blue cheese dressing and a cup of the chicken noodle soup. Both were very good with the chicken noodle soup being my favorite. It had such a good taste with the broth thicker than most and such great depth of flavor. Next I was off to the hot bar area. I got a nice sampling of Oriental rice, Mashed Potatoes, Fillet of Sole, Greek Chicken, Chopped Sirloin and some Blueberry Cobbler. The Oriental rice and Mashed Potatoes were not very good. The rice was probable minute rice and adding a slight bit of soy sauce and peas made it Oriental rice - no no no!!! The mashed potatoes were runny and that affected the taste. The Greek chicken was good and tender but it was not Greek in any way but the name. Should have been called Baked Chicken. The sole was good and with the tasty tarter sauce it was even better. To my surprise I actually enjoyed the chopped sirloin. With lots of grilled onion it was well cooked and very tasty. I also had a corn bread muffin and it was pretty good. The highlight of the meal was the Blueberry cobbler. It was delicious. The Blueberry's were not overcooked and the flavor was so good. Add it the crunch topping it was such a treat. The service was top notch and made you feel as if you are in a 5 star sit down restaurant and not at a buffet. The inside is very nice and even the set up of the buffet was high end and not the standard warming tables you see at low end buffets. I would go back and look forward to see what other items they put out. The price is not bad running at $17 a person with drinks and tax. read more

I was in the area with my boyfriend this morning, we were waiting at a local dealer for car repairs to be finished and decided to grab some breakfast. My boyfriend suggested this place, he had been here before for their lunch buffet. My first thought- you want to go to a hotel for breakfast? Is it any good? Isn't it crazy expensive? I feel like this place can go slightly overlooked for this reason alone- it's in the hotel lobby. To my surprise they had a great breakfast buffet open to the public- attached I have included one of the table cards that states their hours and prices, which are pretty reasonable. They had a fresh assortment of hot items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, potatoes, corned beef hash, praline French toast, pancakes and oatmeal. In another area they had a cold bar with fresh fruit, juices, muffins and cottage cheese. In this area there was also a chef that was making omelets with an assortment meats and veggies that can be added and cooked to your liking. For 12.99 per person I was pleasantly surprised at the selection and the quality of food. We got there around 10am, there was no wait and plenty of seating, about half of the restaurant was full. This place is a little far from home for me- so I'm not sure I would venture here often.. if I'm in the area again I would love to come back for breakfast or lunch. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the service was okay. I know it's a buffet so most of it is self serve but I found myself searching for someone to get coffee refills and ketchup. read more

When our family visits town, this is the restaurant in the hotel they like to stay at. We always end up eating here. Highly recommend the grilled vegetables and hot wings. This is little more than your standard hotel hot breakfast. The crepe and omelet stations are only on the weekends. The pancakes were uneven and partly hard/burnt, and they didn't have waffles or French toast. The potatoes were good, and at least the service was friendly. When you get a $15 voucher/day for staying at the hotel, each one is only good for one of the days. We had saved ours for the last day so that our whole meal would be covered, but then we found out only one was not expired. There was no option to grab something and go if you were on the run, this was sit-down service only. While the selection was quite nice for a hotel restaurant, with a wide variety of options for breakfast - standard eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, but also grits, pecan french toast, corned beef hash, potatoes, etc. The selection was refreshing, but honestly the entire buffet line lacked much character or flavor. I left pretty disappointed, though I guess I didn't pay for it, given I was staying there. Would definitely recommend you don't eat there if you aren't staying there. read more

Surprisingly, I've always heard that Trotters does a good seafood buffet, so I've been intrigued for a while. While using Town & Country's meeting rooms, we decided to check out the lunch buffet. The salad bar wasn't half bad. All the salad accouterments you would expect, fruit, and pasta/tuna/etc. salads. The actual entree options on the buffet were less than delightful unless you like fried foods galore. Think: fried chicken, fried okra, baked pasta, beef stew, tomato soup, ribs, peach cobbler, and a bland looking veggie mix with some sort of lettuce combined with it. While the food wasn't bad (because it was mostly all fried), it just wasn't great and there were no healthier or lighter options. The Town & Country facilities were very nice and spotless. The bathrooms, the common rooms, and staff were great. The staff is constantly cleaning and it shows! Edit: We're back again using the meeting rooms. While I didn't eat at the restaurant today, the options looked a little better: baked chicken, shrimp creole, lima beans, meatloaf, banana praline cake, and minestrone soup. read more

I had the lunch Buffett and really enjoyed it. The salad bar is awesome! I wish they had some Ice burg lettuce instead of mixed greens, but plenty of toppings and several different dressings. The fruit bar was great as well. Fresh fruit, fruit salad, and even some pasta salads. The main dishes were all very tasty. Ground sirloin meatballs, gumbo, mashed potatoes, brócoli, corn, cornbread, chicken, etc. They even had some sweet potato bread pudding that was delicious. Very large well-tended buffet featuring scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, grits, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Nancy keeps the coffee coming served with her adorable Southern charm. She is a great ambassador for the city of Charleston as she was very helpful recommending things to see and do during our visit.
