4 stars for service, 3 stars for the food. A friend and I stopped in for lunch. We each decided on the chicken parmigiana sandwich. The man who took our order was very nice and helpful and brought our food and drinks to our table. Our sandwiches arrived relatively quickly and were good sized. We were both excited to dig in. The sandwich came in soft focaccia type bread, rather than a toasted sub roll. While the flavor was good, I was disappointed to find that my sandwich consisted of small pieces of chicken, rather than a breast, and while cheesy, was very light on sauce. There was way too much bread for the amount of chicken, so I just ate the small cheesy chicken pieces. Overall, this was just an ok meal. read more

We ordered a large pizza for pick up on the app and selected a pick up time. We got there at the selected time and the pizza was ready and hot. The pizza was very good! The staff were friendly and nice. One of the things i liked about the app was you could select your pizza to be cooked to well done... Growing up my family always got Brunettis, we loved it. Recently, my wife and I have started eating there and the last two times we've gone, there was hair in our pastas. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Brunetti's Express. Service: The employees are all extremely friendly and welcoming, and despite the fact that for dine-in, you order at the counter and they bring your food to you, they are very attentive and will come by and offer drink refills and make sure you are satisfied. You can comfortably make conversations with the people who own the place and work there. Food: excellent! We have had their pizza, a few different subs, and probably the best lasagna I have had in years! The Meatball Parmesan Sub is a favorite, and the bread is made in house and is less "bready" with a lot of substance and flavor. Ambiance: This appears to be newly renovated? The counter is vast and clean. There is limited seating, and they do a lot of carryout, but we prefer to dine in and it feels like you are at an actual solid family dining room table. There are some cool photos of the business and of Italy. The space is intimate enough to be able to hold a conversation with your dining companion, but it is casual so you can "come as you are" and not feel judged. Hours: they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. This can be a rude awakening if you are craving their fried zucchini on a Tuesday afternoon. The meat cravers pizza is amazing. It is loaded with toppings and not greasy at all. I knew when I didn't see grease dripping from the pizza that they used quality ingredients and that it would be delicious. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this place. read more

Food is good but the owner is the most arrogant individual. Had ordered from this place two previous times and was impressed with it. Few days ago ordered two Large pizzas that this "business owner" charges over $20 for and were the thinnest pizzas I've had in my entire life. I never held a slice of pizza that folded like paper and every single topping fall off. Called the restaurant and they all had a confusion on what pizza guy made it, to what I was told that it was a mistake and I had a store credit of the same amount. Went to the place today and explained the cashier even showed pictures turns out only $20 were credited and the owner approached telling me that he was the one who made those and were not thin, with my pictures he was trying to convince me that the pizzas are like that because they are large but mind you I purchased before and of course they were not thin AT ALL (who would come back for paper? ). This arrogant owner continued to laugh at me for not being happy by his answer, saying he wasn't going to argue but kept going back and forth ranting how he has worked for over 20 years and that the place is supposedly "#1" in the area when I mentioned that the food is actually good but that was not my order. His ego was more important than to be understanding and polite to his customers and the only resolution was to make the same exact pizza BUT of course I took my money back, CASH of course they can do that because writing down my card number to "refund" my money sounded really funny. Oh, and he will tell you to not come to that place ever again because he doesn't serve customers with complaints, will try to tell you to shut up specially if your mouth is smarter than his, LOL. Brunettis is the best pizza place in Hanover county by far. I've had their pizza multiple times and it isn't super greasy like its competitors and it is way more authentic compared to fast food. This time I tried the Chicken Parm Sub and it was so so good. They fill this sandwich up to the brim with chicken, marinara, and mozzarella. The chicken is breaded nicely and the roll it is served on is almost like a baguette but softer. It actually adds a nice bite and crunch to the sub. This sub was filling, but if you are super hungry I would recommend the French fries as a side. They are to die for and surprisingly really good for a pizza shop. We also ordered the garlic knots (not pictured) and those are phenomenal too. They are pretty decent in size and drenched in the famous garlic sauce. They are airy and pillowy which add to it. The service is amazing at brunettis. The front desk worker was able to answer any questions and the staff constantly asked if we needed anything and refilled waters nicely. Lastly, although they are known for their takeout, the small dining room can still be enough for a small group of friends to enjoy a meal. The price is very affordable for the quality and quantity that you get. I highly recommend brunettis to all my friends that want an authentic and reasonably priced Italian meal! read more

My family and I dined in for the first time this evening and the staff was nice and friendly. They explained how their dine in process works. They were patient and answered all the questions we had. We then ordered and paid and they brought the food/drinks to our table. They brought fresh baked bread while we waited. The wait was not long at all the food came out quickly. We all ordered the steak and cheese and it was the best I have had in this area and was also on their fresh baked bread. The meat to bread ratio was wonderful most places don't put enough meat and you're left with an excess of breading. We also ordered fries and a kids meal of chicken tenders and fries. The fries were plentiful at our table to where we didn't even need the extra order. We also could have ordered 2 steak and cheeses and split them between the four of us because we all ended up taking home the other half! So the portions are large and enough for 2 or for left overs later and who doesn't enjoy left overs!! My husband said the chicken tenders were the best he has ever had. My experience was ordering for a client gathering. We anticipated about 25 individuals. Really not knowing how much to buy I called shortly after the restaurant opened to inquire. I couldn't have been more pleased. The young lady answered my questions and made suggestions based upon our Group size and budget. Have been in Mechanicsville for about a month. Have eaten out a lot and most restaurants are OK. We love Italian so those are the restaurants we check out the most. Last night we ate at Brunetti's Express 301 and found our forever place. Not only do they do the BEST pizza, but their pasta dishes are excellent as well. They make your order the way YOU want it, not by the menu description. They are reasonably priced and serve you a lot of food. We easily have another whole dinner from what we took home. The staff is fabulous, especially Carol, a floor supervisor. She introduced herself to every table and took names and used the customers' names the whole while we were all there. This is a place that has been in Mechanicsville for awhile and you can tell. Their COVID arrangements were right on and so you could pickup, eat outside or inside. You can get delivery too. It seems like a fast food setup, but it is really the safest dining we've tried in a long time. They are remodeling starting June 27th, until after July 4th, so try to get in ASAP. read more

I tried this place a while ago and got some pasta, but was not fond of it and have not been back since. A coworker ordered a pizza and drink special they had quite a few times and I finally asked him where he ordered it from. He recommended I get the three topping personal pizza and a drink special they have regularly. I tried the pizza and I LOVED it. I have been telling everyone to get the special and they seem to like it also because they keep going back also. I think three toppings of your choice is pretty decent when most places just have one topping specials of their own choice. I'm going there for lunch today. Calling in my order NOW. :) read more

The pizza is just okay. I will never be craving their pizza but they are one of the few places that deliver to us so when full laziness sets in, I will order from them. I tried to get a delivery for Saturday night. They said it would take 60-90 min to be delivered. For pizza, I think that is unacceptable. Get more drivers if you can't handle the load. Not sure why this place is receiving poor reviews. Ever since I ordered lunch, a delicious sub from Brunetti's Express, i've been hooked! Just went to the main Brunetti's on Atlee yesterday. Tried the chicken parmesan and standard turkey subs. The chicken parm was decent but forgettable- the sauce boring. The turkey sub with everyone on it, lettuce/tomatoes/onions/mayo/oil&vinegar was superb! Drooling thinking about it! A bit expensive. I paid $18 and change for two 8 inchers. Out of all the sub sandwich places in Hanover county, Brunetti's has been by far the best. Repeat customer for life here. read more
