This is in response to Michelle T.'s review: First off, I would like to introduce myself to you. I am the "older woman" you mentioned in your review and NO, I am not the owner's mom. Yes I work at the salon part-time and was the receptionist the day you came in. Needless to say I was highly insulted, not of your atrocious first impression of me but more so of your review of my job performance especially since I take such great pride in my work. Our goal at Bruno Salon and Spa is to send our clients home with an incredible and exhilarating experience they've ever had and I for one take that to heart. I always strive to give and provide each client with the respect and service they expect and deserve upon entering the salon's door. I apologize if I wasn't at the desk the very minute you walked in. However, did it ever occur to you that perhaps I might have been working on something else that required my attention at that particular time? I would also like to address the issue of being old since you were obviously bothered by it. My being "OLD", as you so blatantly put it, has nothing to do with the service I provide. In fact, I have found it to be more of an asset in my dealings with the varied personalities of both the clients and my coworkers. Just as I was once your age, you too will someday be my age. Whenever I bring clients downstairs to the spa and the aesthetician is busy with another, I always make certain I slip a note under her door alerting her that the next person on her schedule is in the waiting area. I then inform the clients that the aesthetician will be out shortly to greet them and ask if I could serve them with a beverage of their choice while they're waiting. If the reply is no, I do tell them to help themselves should they change their minds since our beverage station is in the spa waiting area downstairs. I then excuse myself and proceed upstairs to manage the reception desk. I do apologize if you were offended by this protocol. I do walk downstairs now and then to make certain everything is fine. As for the TV watching, I have no clue as to what you were talking about since I do not watch Access Hollywood and whenever I do have the television on, I make certain the sound is not too loud as to disturb the spa. If technicians are running a little behind schedule, I would express my apologies to clients and I did apologize to you that day. I know because it's my nature to do so. However, by your own admission, you agreed to wait, leading me to believe you were fine with the situation. You should also have expressed your dissatisfaction with the services you received prior to paying for them. Whereupon I would have contacted the owner immediately who would have gladly spoken to and given you complimentary services for the inconveniences you've experienced. He is a reasonable man who knows that a satisfied customer is good for his business; or if you didn't want to relay your discontent to me, you could have called the salon and asked to speak to the owner yourself. I know I would have. My only regret is that I was not aware of your review, otherwise I would have responded to it sooner. read more

Absolutely wonderful! I just moved to Bayridge and desperately needed to get my hair done. I happened to purchase a Living Social voucher and that's how I found Bruno's. I wasn't sure what kind of a service I would receive since I was not paying the full salon price, but It was, by far, the best haircut I have ever received. Rosa was so wonderful! I went in with not much of an idea of what I wanted other than I liked the length and possibly wanted layers. She gave an excellent consultation combining my basic thoughts of what I wanted and her professional opinion. The way in which she styled my hair was not something I would normally have thought of and I left feeling absolutely beautiful. I needed this after having a long a week and not feeling so hot about myself. I left with total confidence and feeling gorgeous! The salon is very well kept and the decor is warm and inviting. The staff seemed very genuine and friendly. It was definitely not the experience I had anticipated. The regular prices (not taking into account the LS voucher) are a little higher than what I would typically pay, but I think the experience, service and how absolutely, wonderful I felt definitely justify it. read more

For many years I was staying away from highlighting my hair due to many horrific experiences and bad dye jobs. Those days are finally behind me now that I've discovered Bruno and his color magic. Bruno came highly recommended and I did not hesitate for a second to trust him with coloring my hair. He truly is the color master and delivers amazing shine coupled with spot on color. Overall the salon is truly a pleasure to visit. From the second you walk through the door you are welcomed in an extremely friendly manner. I simply cannot say enough good things about the overall experience. For a few special occasions I've used Jovi's services for hair and make-up and once again I was extremely pleased with the results. Furthermore, I regularly utilize Greg for hair cuts and blow outs. He too is simply amazing and my hair has never looked better thanks to Bruno and Greg! My mother also goes to Greg for cuts and is a raving fan! Don't be deceived by the negative reviews, Bruno's Salon and Spa is truly top notch and is your one stop shop for everything from hair and make-up to facials. I generally don't have the time, will or need to write reviews, but I feel it's important to give kudos where deserved. I was in town for an important event as my hair was a disaster. I was recommended by a colleague to try Bruno Salon in Brooklyn to fix my bad/orange hair. I called to set an appointment for a Friday afternoon and they were very accommodating. I was able to get an appointed with Bruno the owner himself. LUCKY! After he evaluated my hair and condition, he went straight to work - comforting me by saying he knows exactly how to fix it and make be beautiful. What I loved about this salon is that it felt like I was amongst friends and family the minute I walked in. Althought it's known for Bruno's famous color, I was also able to get a perfect haircut, mani/pedi and facial. Wow, one stop shop! Once complete, I looked in the mirror and almost cried. No more orange hair but a lovely chestnut brown long layered new look. My faced glowed and fingers were pretty again. I have been going to Brunos salon and spa for a couple of years now and I must say theres no other place like it. I go to brunos for my leg waxing and I have to say the lady is great. She's attentive and clean. In this salon theres no double dipping, thats for sure. The staff are polite and they make you feel just at home. All the way from the receptionist who greets you with delightful sweets, to the shampoo girl that massages your head until you've reached into relaxed mood. I also have gotten my hair done for color and highlights from the owner himself, Bruno. Each time I did, I've gotten nothing but plenty of compliments from women and men. Oh I also have to add I travel from 1 boro to another just so I can get the oustanding services I receive from Brunos, (It's well worth it). So if you want to get pampered for anything and everything, this is the place to go to...It's as if NYC has come down to good old brooklyn. Rosa has been styling my hair for years. She gives you exactly what you ask, and then some. Being a perfectionist, she'll never let you leave her chair until you are completely satisfied. After hearing she had left my previous salon, I went through a month long panic attack. Thankfully through a social networking site she found me. And so, my new love affair with Bruno's began. This salon has truly become my monthly escape. With only warm smiles and your choice of cappuccino or wine, are you permitted to begin your Bruno's experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. Bruno himself is absolutely wonderful. He explained the science of hair coloring during a consultation in a way that even i could understand. Transforming my once copper streaky yellow hair, to a beautiful BELIEVABLE blond. I was thrilled. Was planning on making my appointment next week. But honestly, after writing this review, cant wait. I cannot believe anyone had a bad experience at Bruno's, especially with the stylists. first of all, if it's your wedding you need to have a trial for makeup and hair. I had three hair trials for my wedding with Cathy and each time my hair came out beautiful. I have been going to Buno's since he opened and never once have i witnessed him being rude. he goes out of his way to greet clients and comment on their services. my mom, sister, and i are all cathy's clients, yet bruno knows us all by first name and always compliments our hair. i have also witnessed the work of greg and out of date would never describe his work. greg and cathy have a cult like following. so if anyone had a bad experience, it was probably their own fault. if ur sitting in front of a mirror watching your hair being done, it's your job to speak up and comment on how you expect it to be done. they are the stylists but not mind readers. read more

Spa week is coming! I am so excited. Bruno Salon and Spa is the place to be. If you want to feel pampered and taken care of make an appointment with Shirley for a massage and facial. She is absolutely wonderful. Her fingers are so delicate yet powerful. I never leave with a red face, my skin is glowing. As for the massage, I leave the salon on a cloud. The massage room is dimly lit, and has the most amazing fragrance - it's so relaxing. As soon as you walk in to the salon you are greeted by a professional receptionist who is not only expecting you, but will promptly get you seated and get you started for your salon and spa appointments. Every member of Bruno's staff is a professional; you feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. Every technician is friendly and relaxed and more than happy to work with you to get you to your salon and spa goals. read more

I was blessed to have won a Day of Beauty at Bruno's Salon and Spa at a school fundraiser six years ago. I have never been happier with a salon and I don't think I have ever had such a long run at the same salon. Bruno's is the perfect atmosphere. It is upscale in it's appearance and the quality of it's services yet the staff and professionals there are sooo down to earth and unpretentious that you never feel out of place or intimidated the way you can at a salon of this caliber. As a financial manager for high equity and entertainment industry clients in Manhattan , I had been going to a salon referred to me by my clients uptown on Madison Ave in NYC for many years. I purchased an Amazon local deal to try this salon and was thoroughly pleased with my experience, my hair cut, and my stylist, Rosa. Bruno's salon is luxurious and cozy, the view of the water was beautiful! His receptionist was helpful and very friendly, but I can not say enough about my stylist, Rosa. I was making quite a style change with my hair and she talked with me for 15-20mins before she did anything to understand what I wanted and to make sure I understood what I was asking for. Her skill was great. She suggested different ways I could care for and style my new hair cut and unlike other stylists I've gone to, she listened to how I wanted it to look when she was all finished cutting. I truly enjoyed myself and my hair still looks beautiful a month later so I know Rosa did a good job. read more

About a year and a half ago, my friend booked her wedding party with Bruno Salon and Spa. I happened to be one of her bridesmaids and was booked for an updo with Greg and makeup with Jovie. What a team! Fabulous, fabulous! I absolutely looked awesome thanks to the two of them! Based on that experience and without hesitation, I decided I would book my bridal party for my own wedding a month ago with Bruno Salon and Spa. I must say Bruno made certain we discussed all the fine details of my wedding services from hairstyles and makeup for each individual in my party, appointments for the day, to the cost of the services. Two months ago I celebrated the day that most girls dream of, my wedding. I choose Bruno's Salon and Spa because I wanted the best for myself and my bridal party .The moment we walked into the salon we were treated like royalty. The staff opened extra early to ensure that we would be finished on time without any rushing. We were greeted with breakfast and champagne . My girlfriends and I were on a Girls' trip from Florida. We had plans to go into the city, and all decided we needed a "spa day" to prepare. Luckily for us, we found Bruno Salon and Spa. It was nothing like we have in Florida - so much more to offer, AND we were all able to get what we wanted! I booked a facial and massage, two other girls had Keratin treatments and the pickiest of us all actually got to have her color done by Bruno himself! I had my massage first, and it was Amazing!! I wish I could go back every week! Then I had my facial and it gave me that "glow" I needed. From the moment I called and spoke to the charming Carmen, the receptionist, to the salon treatments, I felt like I was special. Bruno is a superb colorist. If you're looking for a great hair colorist, then look no further. Bruno is by far, the best hair colorist around. I've tried several salons over the years and travelled all over NYC (and even as far as Queens) to try to find that perfect color. But nobody could do it as well as Bruno. I've been a faithful fan now for several years and each time he does not disappoint me. He is a true artist and knows his stuff. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because he only does color (you have to use someone else for haircuts & blowouts.) Also, Shirley does great facials. Received a Groupon gift for a massage and facial at Bruno Salon and Spa. Finally decided to use my voucher, called and booked an appointment the other day. After relaying the fact that this will be my very first spa experience to the receptionist, she decided to pair me with Lia, one of two aestheticians for the spa. She assured me I will be in for a treat and what a treat it was!! Upon our first meeting, Lia made me feel so at ease and the services she gave were AMAZING!! Bruno's salon is a great place to get pampered and look great. I go there regularly for my color, highlights and haircuts. Bruno is the colorist and he works with you to understand what you want and remembers what you had done before. There hair stylists are also very good...I have had a few of them cut my hair and been very happy. I had a mni/pedi a few times and they have lots of good colors and are very very clean. Prices are reasonable especially compared to Manhattan and the staff is very friendly. Great atmosphere and will get you coffee, wine etc while you are there. Highly recommended. read more

I've been going to Brunos Salon and Spa for many years for numerous services, cuts, blow outs, highlights up-dos and makeup. I have not yet to have a bad experience. i am totally comfortable going to this salon due to the warm and friendly staff and consistent work. I have recommended many family and friends and we at times have shared the services together and are very pleased. Everyone is extremely kind and easy to talk to, its a warm a family like atmosphere. I've been coloring my hair for over 10 years: solon-by-salon, colorist-by-colorist. It really took toll on my hair and I've never 'clicked' with any colorist. I am VERY happy that I finally found Bruno. He is by far the most talented hair colorist I've ever met. He listens to you, works with you to make sure you are comfortable with the expected results. Moreover, the most important part - results are amazing! I haven't seen my hair so full of live in a very long tome, and the color that I love so much.
