Took my 9 year old niece for hair cut for her birthday. No complaints about the stylist that gave her haircut but she did have trouble with the braid style my niewanted. My issue is with the price of 125 they charges me for a child's haircut. She got a trim only. Even with the braids (that my niece did not like) 125 for a child is ridiculous! read more

I enjoyed having services at Hair & Co of Prospect Heights until they over charged me. I saw a one charge on their computer when I went to pay. Once I brought it to their attention they lied, adjusted the computer and said the charge was for product. The product comes with the service. If their is an additional charge it should be discussed with the client before service. They have a habit of overcharging your card once you leave. Staff is very nice and definitely customer service oriented. From greeting you with a smile, offering you a cappuccino and of course great hair services, you will not leave disappointed. Receptionist very rude. Told me salon does not give out change when I paid for my wash and blow dry. It came to $47.00. I paid $50 expecting to get change of $3.00. She gave me back $2.00. When I asked why her reply was policy. Salon does not gave back change. I asked again and she then said it came to $47.02 and they don't give out 98 cents change. Very rude and dismissive. BTW I had the.02 in my wallet. So taken back I just left. Needless to say I am not going back there. read more

This is my third time going to this salon and Let me say they are consistent with the great work they do!! Donna is amazing with color. I have had highlights, bayalage, and ombré all with her and she has delivered a perfect blonde color each and every time. Let me not fail to mention that the color remained as vibrant and blonde as when I had just got it done. She is also amazing with keratin treatments. She is warm and welcoming and will not make you feel uncomfortable as other bay ridge chi chi salons make you do. I get my cut with Violette the owner and she is also just as amazing with her cuts. This place is completely different from the old location. It is so tiny, you can barely move. I got highlights and it was okay-no complaints. Professionalism, however, was lacking from the stylists. They were gossiping and cackling pretty much the entire 2 hours I was there. The woman doing my hair even said that they are "catching up" as her colleague only works some weekends and they rarely get to talk. Great, I'm so glad they can do it at my expense. plenty of other salons I can go to without the gossiping between stylists. read more

I've been to see Donna 4 times now for a very difficult to maintain half-bleached style. She always does a great job (her specialty is difficult blonds) and today I had her cut it as well. She did a great job! This salon is bright and clean and everyone who works there is very attentive. And there is a great little nail salon next door that is fastidiously clean.
