If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We arrived with a large group and planned to order a substantial amount of food, but we never even got the chance. From the moment we walked in, the staff was rude and unwelcoming. We were told we had to place our order on our phones instead of ordering with an employee, and staff members actually raised their voices at our kids. Who were NOT being unruly by any means. This is a food truck with an outdoor gravel courtyard area and picnic tables... and we were the only people there. They were being "kids", and not bad ones. After that experience, we chose to leave without ordering. Customer service matters, and treating families with respect should be the bare minimum. If you're looking for a family-friendly restaurant, this is not it. We'll be taking our business elsewhere! For my mom's 95 year birthday meal, she requested Bruno's. This woman has such great taste. Not only is it the best tasting pizza, it does not bother her stomach (she has Crohn's) like other places do. This time we did a 20' with sauce, mozzerella, mushrooms, black olives, artichokes, and Chianti infused sundried tomatoes! The artichokes were huge and marinated in olive oil. The Chianti infused sundried tomatoes is a detail that they know will take the pizza to the next level. The Granita hit the spot on such a hot day. Famished after sealing a deal on some shopping on Don Gaspar in downtown Santa Fe, wife and I decided slices were in order. Bruno's delivered with excellent Garlic Pepperoni, Cheese Pizza and cold Coca-Colas. Friendly service via walk up was great for a super-sunny January afternoon. Chatting with the counter help, she explained to me how many generations of pizza makers worked at Bruno's. They know their craft. Crispy, wood fired crust with tangy, garlicky sauce sets the foundation for their slices. A perfect amount of cheese was melted on their pies...the pizza had the pepperoni drip, the crunchy, crusty fold and the cheesy droop. The outside, sunny seating was clean, beautiful and busy with kids and adults alike, enjoying sodas and pizza. We definitely will stop back in to enjoy the beer and wine service as well as the inside dining in the next coming months. This place will be hopping this summer. It was a disaster. Bruno's was shut down but their order system was still turned on and took my order and payment for a work pizza luncheon celebration. The Bruno's website had no information about the shutdown three days prior to the order date. When I arrived at their location, the place was locked up, again with no information posted about the shutdown. I returned to work empty handed and was unable to provide lunch for my team as planned. Later in the afternoon of the planned 11:30 pickup, the business notified me that they were closed for winterization of their business (a food truck) and refunded my payment. They also offered a 10% discount on my next order--ha, that will never happen. A celebration turned into a sad event with hungry team members. Born in Brooklyn, NY grew up on Long Island so my bar for NY Style Pizza is pretty high. My wife heard about this place and we decided to drive up and give it a try. We were not disappointed. We ordered the 16" pie #2 which is a cheese and pepperoni with roasted garlic. Bam was it good. Thin crust, crisp with those tell tale leopard skin bake marks on the underside of the crust. The Caesar salad actually had real anchovies on it. Talked at length with owner Vincente Bruno. He's in the process of renovating a building on site which they plan on opening soon as a private Speakeasy/Cigar Bar serving all the Italian dishes (and pizza) his grandfather taught him how to cook. Zero flop, great undercarriage, crunchy bites and fresh ingredients. Couldn't have asked for more except them being opened past 3pm . Service was great! Decided to stop by for the first based on several recommendations from fellow East coasters living in the area. Bruno's did not disappoint. We had the XXL "Full Moon" Pie. The crust and sauce was on point. We finally found pizza that is authentic New York. I preordered a lunch special (their online ordering is so easy) without the lemon slush and the pizza and cannoli were delicious! I work nearby and pass them daily. I saw a sign that they have NY Slices ready to go, so plan to walk over and have a slice and a large cannoli sometime for lunch. The assortment of pizzas they have is just perfect, and I plan to order one to take home sometime to celebrate Friday and have leftovers. The crust was delicious, perfect chew and browning. I've seen photos of the hot, wood burning oven so it makes sense it was so good. I'd like to see it in person if I do when it is slower (I don't want to be a bother on a busy day!). I really enjoyed the balance of the acidity to sweetness of the sauce. Something about the personal size pizza wasn't for me, I don't know what it was, but the quality and flavor of everything was superb. I consider it the best pizza I've had in Santa Fe, thus my desire to go back. The cannoli was delicious, the pastry was crisp and flaky, and the filling was a lovely level of sweetness so perfect for us folks who like a light sweet note after a meal. The mini cannoli is a perfect size for lunch! It was very flavorful while still feeling simple and clean. IT IS good pizza. The caprese & Cesar salad were a great touch as well. I had 3 meals with my 12" and my husband had 2 with the same size. I cannot leave without mentioning what a great Granita they offer. I've never had before and now want to research how I can make it at home. Ok so I need to say up front that I rarely post a review. But on rare occasion it's imperative. Today my wife and I visited Bruno's for lunch. We are big (and rather discriminating) fans of NY-style pizza (even though we lived in Chicago for a decade before moving to Santa Fe). I think what I said to our server sums it up pretty succinctly. "There is a very famous pizzeria in Brooklyn named Grimaldi's. They are in the top two most famous NY pizzerias. They make awesome pizzas. That's why they're famous. But my pizza at Bruno's today was better." 'nuf said. One last thing. The difference between a great pizza and an award-winning pizza is the dough. No kidding. Love toppings!
