Was going to purchase a 2026 outback Touring XT. Put down a 1000 deposit. The day before I was going to finalize everything and pick it up, my wife had a change of heart and didn't want to get the car. I told the salesman that I had changed my mind and wanted my deposit back. He tried to tell me that I forfeited my deposit according to the buyers order, etc. etc. But I checked and Ohio law states that you are not legally under contract until you take possession of the vehicle. He also tried to highball me on the price initially. After some usual 'I have to check with the manager BS, they did give me my deposit back. My wife had her 2019 Forester serviced here. Oil change and replace TPMS sensors. Several days later she took the car to Goodyear for a free tire rotation. Goodyear was unable to remove one of the wheel lugs. I inspected the lug and it would not untreated but instead twisted the stud until it broke. I replaced the stud and lug nut myself. It is impossible to damage a stud in this manner if the nuts are installed properly (start by hand, it's OK to use an impact wrench to snug them on a low torque setting, then tighten in stages using a torque wrench). This problem is most likely from starting the lug nut with the impact wrench and cranking it down. Totally unacceptable for a dealership mechanic. Never taking my car back there read more

My 2018 Forrester that I purchased brand new at the time has had to have its transmission replaced TWICE now (also stranded me in the middle of nowhere twice). It only has 110,000 miles on it so expect your transmission to only last ~50k miles. The third transmission was put in recently. When I got the car back, it had an obviously cracked manifold. The engine was super loud. I immediately took it back and they said they would replace under warranty - but come on - I purchased this car to use for travel to my job and grocery, not to be a revolving ornament in a repair shop. I called the shop earlier today to see if the Manifold had come in yet. The person on the other end said "if it was in, we wouldve called you." I asked if he could maybe check the tracking. He checks and says "oh we've had it since Friday." Ive already had an absolutely dreadful experience with this car. An extreme amount of stress, frustration, and a car thats going to have ZERO resale value. I am beyond let down by the Subaru vehicle I purchased and even more let down by the subpar service Ive received since. read more

My experience started well, then took a turn for the worse. I bought a 2022 "certified" used Subaru Impreza Sport with 6,000 miles on it. Salesman said that qualified me for 4.59% auto loan. I told him my credit union had okayed me for a 4.99% loan, he said they could do better. After the purchase,when the paperwork finally came through, I realized the finance guy had switched the loan rate to 9.59% without anyone ever telling me. I called the salesman, he said he had noted the lower rate on the paperwork he gave to the finance guy. He said he would have the finance guy contact me; I've heard nothing from them since. I stopped by Brunswick Subaru in November to test drive an Outback and a Forester. Both cars were appealing to me. I realized during the test drive that I liked that Outback better. I told the salesman that I would be back in a couple months to buy the Outback. Fast forward to yesterday and I bought the Outback from the same salesman, as promised. I paid $4,000 less than sticker and about $2,000 less than invoice. I got a fair price for my trade and now I'm driving a brand new 2018 Outback, which I really like, especially the all wheel drive. Sketchy service department. Came in for a recall repair last week at which point my air was blowing fine (minus functioning AC - but air could blow and I had heat). After repair, my air knob no longer works and I can't blow any air at all. They tried telling me it's completely unrelated. Coincidence. Want to charge me $350 for a new control panel. Every time there's something wrong with my Subaru (which is often) and I bring it here, their service center tells me it's my fault or I should lower my expectations of their brand. Pretty sure cars are not supposed to burn more than a quart of oil between each oil change (I've never had a car that I should "expect" the oil light to come on between oil changes) and I certainly have been driving long enough to know that broken axles are not common, especially two within 10k of each other. I've been told that my tires and brakes were fine one day, only to come back within the month and told that I needed both replaced immediately- that the tech must have mixed up my inspection with someone else's because mine were dangerously worn. read more

The manager, Eli Elias, refused to refund my $1,000 when I chose not to buy a car from them because they lied to me about what they would give me for my trade-in. Their trade in value was thousands less than what it is worth and what they had previously told me they would give me for it. The manager, Eli Elias, and the salesperson, Ramiz Abujaradeh, used aggressive, bullying, and dishonest sales tactics to try and make a sale and were extremely condescending and rude when I told them I did not want to buy the car from them. I explained my problem and he suggested that I wait while the mechanic inspected my car . Everyone that I saw were correctly wearing masks and sanitizer was available. Even the pens were separated into clean and used. After a reasonable time Bailey informed me of the mechanics findings and what the cost would be . Car was ready , and washed , a few minutes later . The worst part was the finace guy being a Steelers fan (ha ha). I didn't feel pressured in the purchase and, what was most important, I feel like I got a fair deal. From the purchase, to the trade value to the financial piece. The only thing I would change was when I contacted them online, I was blasted by sales people. Brunswick Auto Mart is my favorite Mega Dealer. Over the last few years I have purchased or leased 3 Camrys, 2 Jettas and a couple days ago, leased a new Subaru Crosstrek. First of all, this Dealer is great in the community. The owners donate cars or fund a lot of needed money for worthwhile projects to better the Brunswick general area. Everyone I've dealt with over the years have been very professional, from salesman to sales managers, finance department, to service departments. My experience the other day was also great. I want give a shoutout to Eric Holly and Eli( sales manager) on the Subaru side for taking the time to work really hard to come up with a lease that I consider fantastic. Brunswick Subaru quoted the work needed at $1,700 and demanded 1/2 down?!!?! As if my $30,000 vehicle wasn't enough collateral? I had my Outback towed to Park Subaru in Akron and they completed to work for $832.Please be warned this service dept tried to profit off my misfortune!! I will never go back! read more

Love Subaru vehicles but stay away from Brunswick Subaru. I was sold, at top dollar, a 2010 Certified Subaru Forrester and 6 days later one of my tires went flat due to a nail in the tire. It needed to be fixed which of course wasn't free. I left messages for several sales managers at Subaru to call me back but no one returned my calls. I asked to have the sales manager paged but the receptionist stated that she could not find him. It took me an hour to find a person to speak with. The Subaru sales manager said that they would not know if a tire had a nail in it. I reminded him that the car is certified which is suppose to mean that it was inspected by their mechanics. I told the sales manager that I am not happy with this situation and that the Brunswick Subaru website indicates that their customers must be 100% satisfied. He had a very flat, unconcerned attitude. I told him that this was my second Subaru purchase at Brunswick but he did not seem to care that I am a repeat customer. The sales manager offered to pay for the repair of the tire. I don't feel that this is sufficient compensation for our inconvenience. Needless to say, I will take my business elsewhere from now on. My husband and I have jobs and excellent credit, and do not deserve to be treated so shabily. By the way, our sales person seemed very shadey. Your typical used car salesman. You would be wise to shop elsewhere. read more
