Today marked the third service appointment in 11 months that was scheduled that they reneged on. Despite multiple emails from them confirming the appointment over the past week, parts were not available to cover the Genesis recall. I bought a car here from Mark Crow is was a horrible experience. My son had a Hyundai before liked the car and wanted to get another Hyundai when he turned in his lease. Four months later I'm looking at a bill for $800. At the time of sale we had a price set Mark came back and said it was going to be more he didn't take mileage and we were over. We pointed out on the sheet that he actually wrote the mileage done twice on the sheet. He said the payment would have to go up to cover the cost. I left before he pulled this crap my son ok add it in. Now I have a bill from Hyundai that I owe $400 for over mileage charges and another $400 charge for returning the car. So I worked with Rich Chandler. And in the beginning he seemed great, got my daughter & I lunch because we were there all day unexpectedly. But after I get the car & the change in attitude is what I don't like. For starters- I brought an 09 Hyundai Santa Fe. I left the lot with no batteries to my car keys, one door wasn't opening from the inside(it was on child safety) & there's a fuse where I can't charge my phone. I drive Lyft and I drive to NYC so a car charger is important to me. At least disclose what's wrong and let me decide if I'll be willing to pay extra to fix it. So I called about these things- instead of Rich apologizing for the inconvenience he says "Well the car is as is" no emotion & rushing off the phone YET when I got the car I asked is there anything wrong with it - he said nothing. He told me that someone else brought the same car and I asked why didn't they choose this one- he got awkwardly silent and said I don't know. Also when I saw him testing the car keys THAT DOESN'T WORK he did something weird like played it off & tried to hide it. On Friday I discovered that my daughter couldn't open the door from the inside. I called Rich again- he says again "Well the car is as is" are you kidding me?! Then I started ranting about how horrible his customer service is- he HUNG UP ON ME then called on his cell phone. Did he not want the conversation to be recorded? I picked up and said If we can't speak on a recorded line- I don't want to speak & it's extremely rude to hang up on somebody then I hung up. I called his manager to complain about Rich hanging up on me, the Car door not working and battery. The manager had a much better attitude! He said "Wow the door not opening is hazardous, well there's a child safety lock feature, why don't you go outside so I can walk you through it to see if that's the issue" instead of a "well the car is as is so the HELL with you" attitude that Rich gave off. So the door was on child safety and it's fixed. Now while on the phone with the manager(Friday) he says "Rich just walked over with some car key batteries to mail out to you" I responded "Oh the batteries he literally just lied and said he mailed on Monday before he hung up on me?" Yea I try to be nice in these reviews but Rich was a complete idiot after his "I'm the nice salesman" mask fell off. I received the batteries this week, put it in the car keys and guess what the car keys are not even PROGRAMMED TO THE CAR! I'm not calling this place again. I'm just gonna pay out of pocket (which I shouldn't have to do) Rich is a complete lazy, idiot that only cared about getting his quota and didn't give a damn what you went through with the car after you drive it off the lot. What if my car door was really broken? "It's an as is car" would've been his response? So with that attitude Rich doesn't deserve to ever be promoted to any supervisor or managerial position because Cresmont will get a BAD REPUTATION with his nonchalant attitude. They also make you sign an Arbitration form so you can't take them to court Besides that the finance lady was amazing and made sure I understood everything. Rich was good in the beginning and patient(which any salesperson would be if they want a quota ) I just don't like his carelessness now. I love the car & I hope to not run into anymore problems with it. The finance department is shady, and they will try to rip you off! They will make you wait for an hour while they cook up the numbers in their favor. They will quote you one price, and give you another price on the paperwork. They will jack up the fees and charges to make more money for the dealership. They act like they are easy going, and easy to deal with, but it is all an act! If you question them, they will just try to blow you off. I understand that they need to make money, but being dishonest is just plain shady. Do your homework before going to this place, or you will get ripped off! We had a terrible experience at this dealership. Very dishonest and sneaky. On the day of sale for the car we bought, everything seemed great. Rich, the salesman, seemed helpful and happy to help us. We came in with a pre-approval letter for a loan from our bank, and Rich seemed able to accommodate those conditions. However, after signing for what we thought were the conditions laid out in the pre-approval letter, we come to find out that the loan duration was an entire year over what we agreed upon. Let me be clear - on the day we bought the car, the duration, cost, and warranty were repeated verbally several times between us, Rich, and the finance manager at Crestmont, and then we found out that the deal they actually ran with the bank was for 12 more months than we agreed upon. Upon returning to Crestmont to demand answers, Rich plead ignorance of the 12month discrepancy and the finance manager claims she "just ran the numbers in the pre-approval letter". It is unclear who exactly is at fault - Rich or the finance manager - but the fact is that the written details of our pre-approval letter and the written details of our actual loan are different, and they only passed through the hands of Rich and the finance manager. Needless to say, we will never return. It is unfortunate that used car salesmen are still sneaky, underhanded, and only out for their own benefit. Was at the dealership this AM 1020 to be exact meet with horrible salesman named Rob went in told him exactly what I wanted took 20 min to pull up on computer to get key and test drove once back told him information and did a vehicle appraisal for my current car in which he was very rude and stated wow your current vehicle has a lot of miles in which fact it don't as average is 12000-15000 a year and mine is a 2015 with 60000 but that's always why I'm wanting to buy a new car asked to be called with the numbers still at 237 haven't received a call back called and left two voicemails without return calls even called to try and speak to the manager with having to leave a voicemail. Just when you think something SEEMS like an easy car deal you find out they didn't handle the paperwork correctly! Isn't this what you do as a dealership?? Thinking a 45 day plate is plenty of time to get plates and now my car can't be on the road because it has an expired paper plate until the dealership gets around to sending the title of a car we paid cash for! I had a 4:15 appointment for a test drive. I have been dealing with a salesman named Rich Chandler who actually verified this appointment multiple times. When I arrived at the dealership I was told that Rich does not work on Wednesdays and that someone by the name of John would be helping me instead. Well John never showed up and I left the dealership. This is got to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Here's an update as of 12-9-15: 1. We've put about $700 into the repair for the ABS and ESC lights going on over 50 MPH. These lights still come on and now Crestmont is blaming a loose exhaust gasket. Our mechanic at Automotive Excellence in North Royalton says the exhaust has nothing to do with the lights. He said they apparently do not know how to repair cars. The right way is to drive the car over 50 MPH and take resistance readings for all four sensors he said. Crestmont apparently did not do this. 2. On 12-8-15 radiator fluid is dripping quickly onto the ground from the side of the engine where they replaced the water pump. They could not take the car last night so my wife left the car there. I called this morning and they are not returning my calls. My wife called and finally around 2:50 they said the car was looked at and they could not find anything but did say the crankshaft pulley was going. They were the ones that replaced the belts and never noted this. When my wife confronted them about this they said that the pulley was fine then. Sounds like they over tightened the belt. Crestmont wants $400 to replace the pulley. I contacted Hyundai USA and they said that the pulley IS covered under the 10 year drivetrain warranty. Crestmont is trying to get money from us and Hyundai for warranty work. These guys are crooks! read more

Service people are not organized. Took car in for checkup and they had a long list of what was recommended. Sent me home with no pricing and took three days and three different people who couldn't find the quote. Finally spoke to the "service" manager who originally said the previous day he would call me back and he was not helpful. It was as if I was bothering him. He said what do you need done? UMMM your dealership is recommending these services that your can't even explain and quote properly. It's like sorry to bother you. First person says $500 for everything then you speak to him who runs down a laundry list of things totaling $1100..... Don't trust these people. Obviously there looking to take advantage of people........ DISAPPOINTING, especially because they told me to bring car in for recall and then call to tell me they were wrong my car has no recall. This was my first time buying a car and I really couldn't ask for more from Nancy in finance! She walked me through the financials of buying a car and was very patient as I asked a million dumb questions. She has 28 years of experience and that know-how really shows. First, my credit wasn't the best but she was able to get me in the car I wanted with a great interest rate because of her relationships with the people at the banks. A couple weeks later I called back up there to ask her a question because there was something I didn't understand about my paperwork and she actually apologized to me for not explaining it well enough, so she's explained it to me again. Once she explained it to me I realized that she had already answered my question when I bought the car I just forgot about it. A couple days later she called me back and said that she felt bad that she didn't explain my question clear enough and so she talked to the people at Hyundai and actually got me another $2,700 off on the maintenance plan I had purchased. Needless to say I was pretty floored that she got that much of a discount for me so I went in and resigned paperwork. Like I said, I've never bought a car before but I'm pretty positive that what Nancy was able to do for me all-around doesn't happen that often during a car buying experience. Hands down the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I purchased a certified vehicle from Crestmont and it needed some paint repair that was identified soon after purchase. Eventually the repair was scheduled and completed, unfortunately the repair was worse than the original issue. After several attempts to resolve it, it was suggested that the paint problems were "preexisting." Further it was suggested that even though I am disabled I should have gotten down to inspect it.... Wow - I've never been so insulted in my life. The Quality Assurance center with Hyundai was very helpful, but said their hands were tied since Crestmont is privately owned. So to resolve something simple and keep a customer Crestmont would rather me go small claims; so in the morning I'm off to submit my paperwork (easy to do now, everything is online). Just amazing. Lesson learned on what to stay away from and who to do business with. read more

I've gotten my last three cars from Crestmont, but this last one will be my final one. I kept going back because I like Hyundais and the Sonata, but the last transaction experience was not a great one. I had Jong Yun ("Joe"), who kept talking himself up and bragged about being the best dealer there who was recruited to come there. Which even if it all is true, it made him come off as very conceited right off the bat. I was returning my second Sonata lease looking to get another (3rd) for about the same price, as that's what I did from my first to the second, only to be quoted $100 more a month than what I paid last. I told him that was way too much so he came back after talking to the manager dropping the payment $85-90 per month. The fact that you can drop the quote that much at once shows they're just trying to make as much on you as possible, and make you think you're getting a super great deal. After finally getting the price down to a "normal" rate and close to what I had been paying, I agreed to the deal and signed the paperwork, to then have Joe walk me through the survey telling me EVERY ANSWER I needed to put for every question to make sure he got his full commission. He even went as far as to tell me he could see my name on the survey if I ended up putting any negative answers so he would know it was me. Who does that?! Needless to say I will not be going back to that dealer and I'd warn anyone who deals with Joe to watch out, he comes off nice at first but is NOT an honest salesman. read more

I purchased my 2009 Hyundai Sonata and was told it was certified preowned by Sales and finance that was why I paid more for a car with 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. So my oil pan is rotting out a long with the whole bottom of the car and I bring it in for my warranty for a $200 fix . I drop it off, get back to work 20 min later it's not covered . I was at first confuse as the car is within its warranty. I said it was a mistake its certified . Well folks the service man that inspected the car did the wrong inspection so it's not certified preowned and Hyundai won't even fix it under the good faith effort either so I said park it I'll be their for the car . I arrived to find out that they lost my dam keys , and I had to find them . I loved Hyundai to this point now , I'll Never buy another product from this company misleading , and poor customer service . read more

Buyer beware! Purchased a used 2011 Hyundai Accent (65,000 miles), for my daughter 12/3/2015. Negotiated a purchase price via the internet and phone. The salesman (Joe) claimed the car still had a transferable 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty. The business manager claimed the car came with a 90 day warranty only, since it was not "Hyundai Certified". The salesman apologized for his error. The business manager wanted to charge me for an additional warranty. The new car manager stepped in and offered to pay $400.00, then $200.00 for an extended 1 year warranty, which retailed for $741.00. I was held hostage for over an hour until the dealership agreed to cover the cost of a 1 year power train warranty. 2nd time buyer from Crestmont Hyundai. I returned because of our excellent experience 8yrs ago. Things have changed. I took our pre-approval financing letter in to Crestmont to secure *at least* the terms we obtained w our bank. I was trading in a vehicle and purchasing a certified, preowned car. I then agreed on a price/term/tradein with Crestmont. Crestmont asked me to sign a quote on an agreed-upon price/term/tradein. I signed after stating the terms are not predicated on who was doing the financing. They agreed. They then tried to match my pre-approved financing. They couldn't match it-- okay, no problem, I'll just go with my pre-approved financing letter from my bank. The salesman returned to state the already *signed* price agreement wouldn't be honored because his finance guy had a rebate built into my price that required Hyundai financing. Since Hyundai financing couldn't meet my bank's terms, Crestmont finance guy said they had to raise the price on my *signed* agreement if I went w my bank. **For purposes of this review, I restate: the terms were not predicated on who was doing the financing.** I reiterated we had a deal that was not predicated on financing. It felt like I was being nickel and dimed. I told our sales guy as much and that it felt shady and I was ready to walk. He said he was "just the messenger." He went back to his finance guy with my "message." Eventually the finance guy agreed to HIS signed statement. Shady, shady finance guy. I got home with the car and discovered there wasn't a manual. I called our sales guy who said he'd mail me one. This was approx 5wks ago. I still haven't received it. I have since called the Mgr of Used Car Sales 3 times, left him 3 voicemails, and left a message with the operator. I have not received our manual nor have I received a return phone call. My wife and I live in Michigan. After doing all our research and deciding which car to buy, we settled on a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. After searching the net, we found a perfect car located at Crestmont outside of Cleveland. After checking with the dealership we put a deposit down on the vehicle on a Friday with the intention of going down to pick up the car the following weekend. When I called the dealership the following Monday to get all the details hammered out, we were financing though our credit union and they required a dealer purchase order, imagine our surprise when we were told the owner of the dealership sold the vehicle to a "buddy" the day AFTER we put down our deposit. However, as sorry as they were, surprise again, they had another similar vehicle with double the mileage, if we were interested. I've done two car deals over the internet before, never having this type of incident occur. Although the manager of the dealership later called to apologize, I would be very, very careful if you ever consider doing business with this company. read more

February 2018 my husband and I purchased a used 2010 Honda for our daughter. We were told by the manager as soon as we walked into the dealership and inquired about the car that the timing belt had been replaced. That was important to us as the car had 119,000 miles on it and is required to be replaced at 90,000 miles and it's a very costly expense. We were told by the salesman that the brakes had been replaced as well. The paperwork given to us indicated they replaced the brake pads. Within the first 6 months of owning the car we had to put over $2,000 into it for all new brakes, spark plugs, battery and recharged the a/c. We decided to buy our daughter a new car recently and would like to sell the car. You cannot verify if it was replaced just by looking at the engine and the Carfax doesn't show that it was. Also, the $800 we spent replacing the entire brake system front and back after being told the brakes were replaced is disconcerning. While I understand when purchasing a car as is and no warranty you take a chance, we were lied to about the timing belt and brakes. I have contacted the dealership several times to ask for proof that the timing belt was replaced and I get no call back. I left another message for Ken Harris this morning and said if I don't get a call back within a half an hour I'm putting a bad review online and reporting them to the BBB. I would like to be able to tell whomever purchases the car if the belt was replaced or not, I do have a conscious unlike anyone at this dealership. Let's just say they saw 2 females, myself and my daughter, walk in the door (actually we barely got out of the car) and assumed they would be able to basically take us to the cleaners. The advertised lease deal was $1399 down, $169/month. Somehow the salesman (Max?) Turned that into $2400 down and $240/month. I'm still angry. After 3 hours we we got what we wanted after the manager got involved. My daughter said she felt like a nuisance to the salesman. He was very concerned about the survey she would be asked to take. Hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dealership. It wasn't a onetime poor experience, this has been going on for months. Anytime I have to deal with anyone with this dealership it's as if they don't care. The final boiling point for me has to do with their service department. I called and scheduled a appointment for 7:30 in the morning on a saturday because my USB port was blown and needed to be fixed. I told them the issue when I scheduled the appointment. I arrived on time and waited 3 hours for them to tell me my USB port was blown. I told them I knew that, I already told you that. They then advised they have to order the part. 4 days went by and I had heard nothing so I called them. They said the parts not in yet and they will be in contact. I then called on day 9 and the dealership said the parts not in yet and someone from service should have called me last week. Well they didn't. I then ask the lady how long it takes for parts to come in and she said usually 2 days, my part May be on backorder or something. Don't you think someone should check on it and communicate to me that there's a issue so I'm not waiting? I told the lady to forget it I've had nothing but bad experiences with dealership and I'm going to go to another dealership to have my work done. She obviously didn't care because her response was "sorry you feel that way, have a nice day". We are on our third car from Crestmont - 2 leased and one purchased- and have had only exemplary service from everyone we've encountered there. Mike Bell is a helpful and considerate salesperson, the service department is thorough and fair, and our times dealing with credit and accounting personnel have been pleasant and quick. I've bought cars from many dealers, and most are not what you would consider high integrity to say the least... but Crestmont Hyundai is the first one I've actually been literally ripped off at. After figuring out I was overcharged by $80.00 and visiting them to resolve the issue (multiple times), they simply told me they don't have to refund that money, so they never did... not that they didn't think I am due the money, just that they simply don't have to. If you do deal with them, be very careful and do not even think about any of the finance guy's extras. Justin was absolutely phenomenal to work with. He destroys the common stereotype that a car salesman is just trying to push a car onto you and get on to the next sale. I was working with a strict budget and Justin was incredibly patient as he worked diligently to get me into the car I wanted for the price I could afford. Once the sale was inked he still took an additional 30-45 minutes to show me all of the features of the vehicle, how to work or adjust them, and to answer each question that I had thoroughly. I could not have felt less pressured to make a purchase and walked away feeling as though a friend had helped me purchase the car I really wanted rather than having had a random salesman convinced me to buy something I was on the fence about. TERRIBLE!!!! All I wanted was to buy out my lease for $12,000. And never lease again.... Max is the worst, most dishonest, rude, unprofessional salesperson I have ever encountered . Told me I was stupid to not buy a new car.I came in with a preapproved car loan but he did credit inquiries without my permission for a car that would cost 24,000 ( he told me it was 19,000) AND it was another lease after I had made it very clear I wasn't interested in a lease. I took my car to the service department to replace a faulty back up camera monitor and a clock that didn't keep accurate time. Crestmont replaced it but badly scratched the air bag button and the trim around the monitor. They told me is wasn't bad and they would order the trim piece. I called to make sure they ordered the button too but was told they did not look at the damage. I had to take photos for them to order the airbag button. When they replaced both parts they chewed up my dashboard and marred the new monitor trim. They made another appointment telling me they would replace the dashboard and trim piece. They gave me a loaner car and kept my vehicle for a day and a half. When I returned they told me they took the car to a detailer instead because my parts were not available and they spray painted the trim a flat gray when it is a shiny silver that does not match the interior of my car trim and they tried to smooth the chewed up dashboard which looks horrible. Now they told me they would order the new dashboard and trim and call me the next day and two days have gone by and nothing has been done to get the damage fixed that they have done to my car. All they have done is make it worse. They are not experienced to do this type of repair and they continue to waste my time and not tell the truth. Absolutely horrible. Took our car in five separate times, each time it came back with something else wrong with it. We still have not received it back from the last time we took it in, which was before labor day, about three weeks ago, when they told us we needed a new motor. You think they would have known that the first time the car was brought in if it needed a new motor or not, but they didn't and they supposedly found other things wrong with it, that we didn't even complain about. Also, called corporate, escalated it to the regional department around three weeks ago. Told me the regional dept. would be getting back to me in three to five days, because this was a big deal and we didn't feel safe in the car. I just called today, 9/16/16 and they had no recorded of it. I can not believe how incompetent this company is. Left a message for the General Manager of the Brunswick dealership, also about the same time, three weeks ago, when the girl in the service department hung up on me, and still never heard back from him, or anybody else. Do yourself a big favor, don't purchase a Hyundai, you'll be sorry. I'm thinking of calling the news station, call for action. This is the worst customer service I have ever had in my life and I'm 54. Don't do it! I even fell for and bought the old extended warranty for additional 1800-1900 dollars and they still didn't want to cover it. They will promise you everything and then won't stand behind any of the promises they've made. Buyer beware! read more
