How did I not know about this place until now? Me and my bffs decided to give this place a try today. We ordered a large chocolate chip cookie dough, a medium chocolate, and a banana split and we were not disappointed. The price was very decent for the amount of ice cream you get as you can see in my lovely picture. I did take a risk letting my son hold my ice cream for a picture, but I wanted to share just how good this ice cream looked. They don't skimp, the flavor is on point, very generous, and the ice cream is very good. The bananas were perfect, fresh strawberries instead of syrup on the banana split, and the pineapple was tender and just right. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they didn't have mint chocolate chip ice cream, my favorite, but they did have a thin mint flavor that I'll try next time. I will admit that I did have difficulty finishing my banana split. It was huge! The chocolate was my favorite flavor, vanilla a close behind, which is saying a lot because I'm not normally a vanilla ice cream kind of gal. I don't like the light sour taste that usually follows, but this ice didn't have that. It had a very sweet aftertaste. Absolutely perfect. Kids each gave it 5 stars. Will be going back and next time, we're bringing our dog so that he can enjoy the dog park across the street. read more

This review is for the milkshakes only! I also know that my review will be in the minority here. We were eating dinner across the way and decided to get a little ice cream before we headed home. It was a nice evening and so ice cream was called for! I see that a lot of the locals go to this place and walk around the lake, so I figured we should try it. First off, they have a sign that says that kids under a certain height get a free baby cone, which I thought was amazing! Unfortunately, the employee did not offer it to us or even mention it. I don't even know if it's a thing or not. Anyhow, we ordered three milkshakes. One was a chocolate, the other was cookies and cream in the third was a mint chocolate chip. I should have totally tasted it before I asked for it because it was the worst milkshake guy I've ever had in my life! It was ice cream scoops in the middle and milk around it. Not to mention, the flavor was just completely off and it was very offputting. We did stop off somewhere and end up throwing them away. The young man that gave me the milkshakes served my milkshake to me and a cup with a tear, so it was leaking. I asked him for another new cup so that I could transfer it and he stood there while I did it the whole time, instead of offering to fix it. I also had to use about 10 napkins to clean all three milkshakes because there was ice cream leaking all over. The tops were open which shouldn't be used unless there is whipped cream inside. I asked if they had flat caps and he said no. Anyway, the kids did not even have the milkshake and gave it back to me. I will just stick to Kelly's next time! Super disappointed! read more

I had to enjoy a dessert after a great dinner with friends and reaching 7000 steps after walking in the park. Bruster's was right on the park near the playground, so I had to get some ice cream. There were so many flavors to choose from, and the attendant was very nice to give me a small sample. Thus, I chose the banana pudding ice cream. At first the attendant provided one nice size scoop, which would have been enough for me, but at least the last minute, he added another scoop, which towered the cup. It was pretty big, and was able to get extra spoons. I don't remember if there were any tables near the shop, but there were ample amount in the park. We sat over there while I enjoyed the ice cream. It tasted like a banana pudding, but maybe a bit artificial. But it was still creamy and enjoyable, reminding me of Publix banana pudding. Plus, while it was still creamy, it didn't melt that quickly. For about 6.50, it was expensive, but a nice treat and worth it. Today's No Sugar Added flavor was cappuccino, one of my favorite ice cream flavors! The service was great! The Girl working the counter was very sweet in letting me try the NSA cappuccino and the black raspberry oat milk flavor. The location is nice. It's around the park/lake area. This particular location is a walk-up window in Oviedo on the Park. It's about the most convenient it could possibly me. It's literally impossible to go on a walk in the park and no get a cone. Speaking of cones, this shop is also right by my apartment, and I have to constantly deal with the delicious smell of fresh baking waffle cones. Not cool. But also very cool. Whenever we visit our son in Orlando, we love going out for family meals -- but what we enjoy even more are family desserts. About a month ago, we stumbled upon Bruster's by chance. As we were driving and turned a corner, its bright red awning and posters of ice cream cones and shakes instantly caught my eye, but what stood out the most was the sign proudly displaying the slogan: "Real Ice Cream." Bruster's has a walk-up style service with windows. As soon as they see you approaching, they slide the window open and greet you with a smile. Right from the start, you feel welcomed. Choosing a flavor was no easy task -- there were so many tempting options -- but they generously offer as many samples as you'd like. We tried a few, and let me tell you, they live up to their "Real Ice Cream" promise. Every sample was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. I ended up choosing Double Chocolate Chip and Dubai Chocolate in a waffle bowl. It was their small size -- two scoops -- but the portions were generous. Beyond the delicious ice cream, what truly stood out was the customer service. When we visited, a young man took our order and a young woman prepared our ice cream. Both were incredibly patient, kind, and attentive. We later learned they were Psychology students from UCF, and they were wonderful.
