Gelato-go is one of my favorite ice cream places in Central Florida. They have so many amazing flavors that it's really hard to choose. They even have some sorbet for lactose free people. The staff is really nice and they let you sample as many things as you want, but it's hard to find something you're not gonna love. The actual space inside is super modern and fun and reminds me of a true Italian gelato shop. Fun designs, and even a cool wall if you're looking to take a photo. I got the large waffle cone, which includes two scoops and you can mix some match flavors. I got caramel on the bottom and the cherry flavor on top. The only bad thing about it is once it's gone you'll want more. The owners are really really nice and this is a place I would recommend for a date night on Park Avenue or for a treat for the family! Gelato Go is a little slice of Italy right here in Orlando. The texture is silky smooth and the flavors are rich without being overly sweet--exactly how real gelato should be. They have a great selection of flavors and it's honestly hard to choose because they're all so good, but the Dubai gelato is absolutely incredible--definitely one of the best flavors they have and a must try. This gelato shop is such a gem and the perfect treat to enjoy while you stroll down Park Ave. My husband and I are both big fans of their pistachio gelato. He likes to get it as an affogato with a shot of espresso on top. My newest obsession is their Dubai chocolate gelato cup. This viral dessert features layers of chocolate gelato, pistachio gelato, crunchy kataifi, and pistachio cream, topped with toasted pistachios and chocolate drizzle. It's phenomenal -- you just have to try it for yourself. I intended to share it, but oops... it was just too good! This little shop stays busy, especially on the weekends, but service was quick and the line moved fast. They have a couple indoor tables for seating as well as a few tables outside on the avenue. There is not a huge variety of flavors and the flavors that they do have very creative compared to other gelato places in Florida, which we have visited.. the texture of the gelato is great so the technique is well done. One of the few gelato cafes in Orlando! Came here after dinner one night for a treat and was surprised to see a small gelateria tucked away near Rollins. Serving sizes are very appropriate for gelato and reminiscent of the sizes you would get in Italy. Gelato is good and creamy (if you choose the dairy options). Prices are a bit high for gelato when compared to other gelato places in Florida, so this isn't a spot I think I could go to on the regular, but I understand it's a bit of a specialty since among the other ice cream shops around town. Spent last weekend exploring the Winter Park Fall Art Festival. I heard that another local shop had affogato and we tried to check it out, but due to the hurricane (or so we assume) they were out of all of their ice cream. On the walk back we saw Gelato-go and I quickly looked up their menu to see if they served affogato and to my delight they do! Upon entering all three employees greeted us and were super welcoming, offering us samples of anything we wanted to try. When you order affogato, you can choose any 1 flavor you'd like. I opted for the caramel brownie gelato to pair with my espresso shot and it surpassed my affogato expectations for the day. While Kilwin's and Orlando local favorite Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream receive the lion's share of attention when it comes to the ever popular frozen treat, I would argue that the Gelato-go Orlando might very well be the BEST option in the Winter Park neighborhood. Sure, Gelato-go Orlando is a "chain" with locations in California and Hong Kong, (in addition to Florida), but they make their gelato base daily always ensuring freshness and partner with local farmers for their other ingredients to produce super high quality premium gelato. While I like both, if given the choice, I'll usually opt for gelato over ice cream. Similar but slightly different in formulation, gelato is also starts with a base of milk, cream, and sugar. The primary differentiator is the proportions of each with gelato having more milk (and less cream) compared to ice cream. Gelato also doesn't usually contain egg yolks. The shop interior is clean, bright, and the pops of color incorporating the reds, greens, and white elements from the Italian flag really contrast nicely against the backdrop of the subway tile walls. The staff was super friendly and didn't mind that I wanted to try a few different flavors. In a nod to my morning addiction, I ordered the medium size (2 scoops) with the coffee and white chocolate flavors. O-M-G...this is definitely some of the best gelato I've tasted and it's no surprise since the founders of the company are from Italy and crafted their recipe from a family recipe dating back 50 years to a gelateria in Italy (https://www.gelatogo.net/about) There are a few tables and chair outside to sit and relax while enjoying your treat; bonus that there is an awning to shade from the Florida sun. But as this location is at one end of Park Ave, I'd recommend taking your gelato and taking an easy promenade through this historic area of Orlando. read more
