I'll start by saying this: I knew this place was expensive. I went in expecting to spend a lot of money, and I have absolutely no problem doing that when the food and experience justify it. The problem is that this restaurant has such a huge reputation and people rave about it so much that my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, I left thinking, "That was good... but THAT'S what everyone is raving about?" The pros: We got the porterhouse for two, and to be fair, the steak was tender and juicy and cooked well. The home fries were crispy and delicious, and the fried zucchini was crunchy and delicious. There were also plenty of employees around, so we were never exactly wondering where our waiter was. But there were quite a few things that made me scratch my head: First impressions matter, and the valet situation was confusing. The valet station is right by the front entrance, and pulling in, it wasn't immediately clear where you were supposed to go. Then we sat down and got cold bread and butter that was basically a hockey puck. Seriously... how am I supposed to butter cold bread with butter that could probably break a window? I'm going to an expensive steakhouse, I intentionally didn't eat much all day, and one of the first things put in front of me is basically something inedible. It sounds like a small thing, but at this level of restaurant, those little details matter. Warm bread and spreadable butter is something the cheesecake factory can manage. How is this their norm? There were also employees EVERYWHERE. I appreciate being well staffed, but there were so many workers standing around and huddled together that it actually made the restaurant feel a little chaotic. At one point I felt like there were more employees than customers. I was also pretty surprised there was no drink menu. No beer menu. No cocktail menu. Apparently I'm just supposed to have the waiter verbally list every beer they carry and order a cocktail without knowing what it costs. My wife wanted a specialty cocktail, and there wasn't even a menu to look through. Her Tito's martini was $25. Again, $25 isn't necessarily shocking at a high-end steakhouse, but I would like to know that before I order it. And she ordered it extra dirty, yet somehow it came out really sweet. Not exactly what she was going for. Another head-scratcher: every single appetizer was seafood. I understand seafood is popular, but literally every appetizer? For someone who doesn't eat seafood, that's a pretty big disappointment. Now for the star of the show: the steak. We got the porterhouse for two. Tender? Yes. Juicy? Yes. Flavorful? Not really. This was probably my biggest food disappointment. The steak wasn't bad whatsoever, but it needed seasoning. For a steakhouse with this reputation, I expected that first bite to be a "holy crap, that's good" moment. Instead, I was reaching for the salt. Some garlic, seasoning, or something to give it more flavor would have gone a long way. $160 for the porterhouse. $16 for home fries. $16 for zucchini. $25 for a martini After tax and tip, we're basically at $300 for dinner for two, and we didn't even get an appetizer or a drink for myself. I'm not mad that it cost $300, I'm mad that it didn't feel like a $300 experience. If I went to a moderately priced steakhouse and had this meal, I'd probably be saying it was great. But when you're charging these prices and have people talking about you like you're one of the best steakhouses around, the standard is different. I'm willing to pay for exceptional. I just didn't get exceptional. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but if I'm paying $300+ for dinner, I'm going to be critical. If I had gone in knowing nothing about the restaurant, I'd probably give it 4 stars and say we had a good dinner. But after hearing all the hype and having such high expectations 3 is all they earned from me Good steak. Good sides. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of staff. But I walked out thinking, "That's it?" I wasn't disappointed enough to say I had a bad experience. I just wasn't nearly impressed enough to understand why everyone seems to rave about this place. read more

This was first time at a steakhouse and I have to say as someone who was nervous I enjoyed it. I will say it was pretty loud there, not just music wise but conversation wise as well. Imagine the sound decimal of Applebees. However it's not off putting more so welcoming so as to not make you feel uncomfortable in an environment that is just the cutting of steaks. The servers are so helpful and conversational as well as polite. I had the Melon and Prosciutto, the Prime Sirloin Medium, amazing Mashed Potatoes, as well as Brussels Sprouts. All of which i recommend except for the last one, as I love sprouts and these I was not too crazy about. To end the night we both tried something new which was Pecan Pie with ice cream. We had not been here for over 20 years. It was so long ago that they allowed smoking in the dining room, which seems crazy now but was commonplace back then. Going in today, dining room seemed much brighter and more welcoming, but it may just be the lack of smoke. As with most steakhouses, the service was just ok. Not bad but not great. My daughter dropped a piece of tuna app on table that was not cleaned up until after entrees. Bread crumbs also sat for most of the meal and the app dishes were a little dirty, so they had to be switched out. Nothing major but just enough to be noticeable. Food wise, pretty solid. The best app was the melon and prosciutto. Caesar salad was a little watery and tuna tartare was not well seasoned. Steak was perfect medium rare, and creamed spinach was flavorful. This was our first time back in 25 years. I was pregnant then and unfortunately smoking indoors was not yet illegal so we had an inconsiderate man puffing away right next to me. I don't remember how the food was because I don't recall being able to taste anything. Well we've been told we needed to try it so we finally did. Daughter and hubby are big foodies and love steak so we took the plunge. We started with a Caesar salad, tuna tartare and melon prosciutto. The Caesar dressing was thinner than expected so the salad felt it was covered in liquid rather than a dressing. Taste was fine but not necessarily Caesar like. The tuna tartare needed the wasabi sauce to flavor the fish. Favorite app was the Melon with prosciutto. The melon was refreshing and sweet and paired really well with the salty meat. We then ordered the porterhouse for 3 medium rare, baked potato and creamed spinach. I guess we're used to a more buttery and moist steak, the steak temperature was right but hubby and daughter had to salt it which I rarely see them do at high end steak houses. We enjoyed the creamed spinach. Hubby ordered coffee and we shared a pecan pie Ala mode which we finished. All in all I couldn't give 4 stars because I won't choose to return. Great steakhouse. Typical ambiance of American steakhouses. Very nice bar upon entry and the place was packed. Waiter serviced us nicely and made sure we had what we needed at all times. The seafood tower was loaded with crab, shrimo, clams and oysters. Very nice option to choose with a group if everyone is in agreement. There were 6 of us and my wife and I were the first timers. We all ordered Cajun Rib eyes which came highly recommended. I never ate a steak with so much spices. It was definitely a new experience but believe me when I tell you it tasted really good! I was surprised and ate the entire steak. No left over for me. The sides of mash potatoes, hash browns and spinach were all good. The 50 yr Caymus was steep but really good. Disappointed We haven't been in years and was let down. Started with a bad old fashioned! How can they miss this drink? Tiny ice cubes and 2 full orange slices? Tuna tartare was flat and missing something. Porterhouse for 2 was not sizzling and the cheesecake was so cold it was almost frozen. The Cajun rib steak and filet were perfect but made the lukewarm porterhouse worse in comparison. Jam packed squeezing way too many tables in the room that is super noisy and hectic. I have always heard great things about Bryant and Cooper so I was excited to celebrate an anniversary dinner here. We were seated promptly though I was a little surprised that we were seated so close to other parties considering how much space there was. Our waiter was kind and made thoughtful recommendations. We ordered the crab cake, the cajun ribeye and crab stuffed shrimp with the hash browns. The crab cake was good and reasonable to share between two people. I've had better crab cakes but this was not bad, 7/10. The cajun ribeye was honestly a salty disappointment. I really wanted to like it but it was incredibly salty and unfortunately not evenly cooked 4/10. We enjoyed the hash browns though it wasn't really what we expected, felt more like Parmesan fries fried hard. It was a huge serving and felt like a decent value 7/10. The crab stuffed shrimp really just felt like the crabcake on top of shrimp quite filling but nothing extra extraordinary 7/10. For dessert, we got the apple strudel, and to be honest we probably should have skipped on that. The ice cream that accompanied it was really good, but the dessert itself went really heavy on the filling that we didn't absolutely love and light on the pastry crust that wasn't too bad 6/10. read more

Came to town with my partner to pick up a vehicle. Got in late and found this place next to hotel and dealership I was getting car from. Popped in real quick to grab some grub. Walked in sat at bar, looked at some of the food being eaten, wasn't too impressed. Place was dreary looking and behind a gas station. The sound is deafening with the most annoying people talking so everyone can hear the conversation. I sit down at the bar, get a menu, and a water. When some DB comes up and loud enough for everyone to hear ask me to remove my hat. Wait I didn't see a dress code sign on the door or anywhere. So instead of removing my hat I removed myself and went across the street with hat still on and had a much better experience at Prime. If you like to hear other people yap, overpriced subpar gas station parking lot food, rude managers, and a dress code that isn't posted. Swing by, this place is for you. Whenever anyone asks me where to go for a great steak, I always recommend Bryant and Cooper for those in the Roslyn area. They consistently serve the best steaks, with impeccable service and amazing quality. THE GROWS: I hate valet parking. There. I said it. Even on weekedays, because of the size of their lot, you have to valet. And on-street parking is not really an option. THE GLOWS: I am super picky about how my steak is cooked, and so many places cook medium rare as medium--yuck! But not this place. Every single time my steak is cooked to a perfect medium rare. I vacillate between their ribeye (get the Cajun one!) and their filet mignon when I go for dinner. For lunch, their sliced steak with onions is my go-to or their filet of sole. I've also tried their shrimp scampi. They have a lot of options for pescatarians and people who don't want red meat. Perhaps the best thing is their weekday lunch menu. Each entree is served with a salad and their Lyonaise potatoes and creamed spinach (served as sides to share with the table). You only pay the price of the entree for all of that--a true dining deal! The place was very busy so we had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. We ordered two ribeye steaks to share monks the three of ours so we brought him here. This was not our first time here which right away shows you have much we like the place. For starters ordered some Baked Clams and the Prawn/Shrimp salad. We had a lovely and expensive bottle of red wine with the meal. For the main course, we had 2 Porterhouse Steaks. I would leave zero stars if I could. I had a reservation for 13 people at 8:30 PM. Our party arrived at 8:05 PM and the rest of the party arrived at 8:20 PM. They said it'll take a couple of minutes and 40 minutes later, there's still no tables available. I can't tell you about the food because I'm still waiting for this damn table. I will update this review if I ever get seated.. looks like I may need to head out to McDonald's. At least they are consistent. Update: We ended up leaving because we waited an hour and still didn't get seated even though we asked multiple times for an update on our table. One of the most average steaks and worst appetizers I've had at a nice steakhouse. Steak: fine. I can make as good at home. Appetizers: -asparagus: made with no love. Just a few spears of asparagus with little flavor and a bit chewy -tomatoes and onions: made with no love. Literally, a sliced beefsteak tomato with a sliced raw onion. That's it. No olive oil. Just raw. Gross. Staff: constantly trying to take our plates away. My friend didn't even finish his terrible raw tomato/onion appetizer and they took it away because the steaks were coming out. Overall, what a disappointment. Hard to believe this place is packed, but it is. I don't get it. We were laughing in the parking lot about how bad our dishes were. lol read more

Delicious delicious delicious! For apps I got the tomato & onion and baked clams. The baked clams were a hit! We all loved them. I would say the wine selection is a little pricey, but the cab we chose was perfect. For entrees we split a porterhouse for 2, linguine and clams, and the crab stuffed shrimp. The steak was 10/10! The linguine and clams was absolutely delicious, and the crabmeat stuffed shrimp were huge! We enjoyed our meal very much, and ended with pecan pie, key lime pie, and cheesecake. I didn't try the pecan pie or cheesecake, but I was totally obsessed with the key lime pie!!! The only downside was the service.. I was a bit annoyed we were seated and haven't been given water for quite some time meanwhile a table that got seated next to us had their water poured immediately... and even though we sat right next to the table, once they were done pouring the water in their cups, they still didn't pour ours so I had to ask. Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday since he mentioned he hasn't been here for a while. I have never been and wanted to experience it also so I booked a reservation and went. There is valet of course once inside it was a few minutes before we were seated but a very long wait before someone came over and gave us menus. I mean I was a little annoyed about that. The tables are so close together I'm literally rubbing my butt on the next table if I don't move my table over. Now let's get into the drinks I had 2 espresso martinis which were great, he had 2 White Russians which he also enjoyed. Of course we ordered the oysters which were good, we ordered two different salads which were just ok my Caesar salad was off idk what it was. He had a steak which was made to his liking a baked potato which he asked for everything on it and it came out with a ridiculous amount of cheese and one other thing no sour cream idk he didn't even eat it, all the other sides were ok the creamed spinach, mashed potatoes and Brussels. Great anniversary dinner at Bryant and Cooper! My husband and I dined here last night for our second wedding anniversary. This was our first time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the bathroom attendant is a plus. We didn't order appetizers and went straight into our dinner: porterhouse for two (medium rare and a side of fries). Before I get into the food, I want to mention that I feel like we were a little bit judged for not ordering more food. We received comments like "no appetizers?" or "only one side?" which I felt was extremely rude. We were fine with the amount of food we ordered, thanks. The porterhouse was delicious. After we picked up the food and took the steaks out we noticed there were no utensils. No clue how a steakhouse doesn't at least put some utensils in the bag for takeout.
