    Rib Eye with bone marrow

This is a terrific restaurant / Tavern! Started with an expertly made Martini . Moved onto crab cakes and Clams Oreganata which were just fantastic . We shared the bone in Rib Eye which was perfectly cooked and flavorful . Desert was carrot cake which was sublime . Service was very attentive . Looking forward to my next visit .

Underwhelming, a lot of these reviews are spot on. Drinks weren't very good, food and service weren't adequate, like the octopus, but it's not a top notch experience. There seem to be an older regular crowd who like the ambiance, but I just wasn't too comfy there.

What a great spot. The decor and ambiance of the establishment are beautiful. We had family dinner, sat in a big cozy booth. Service was good. The food was excellent. We all had something different and everyone was very happy with their meals! I would definitely come back. Great for family dinners, night out with friends or even a fancy date night. They have valet parking as well.

Oh Hendricks Tavern! What happened to you? Clearly going through some money troubles. 3 tomatoes on the wedge with dressing on the side, cut up steak frites (??) we don't need you to cut our steak for us. I am sorry a place of abundance is feeling quite constrained. Hopefully they can pull out of this. We will venture elsewhere. When we pay good money for our food we would hope to feel abundance. It's clear Hendrick's Tavern is cutting back at the price of the experience. Sad!! I don't want to be sad at dinner.

Prime Bone in Rib Eye for two

I've dined at Hendrick's many times over the years. It has always been a positive and incredibly delicious experience. It is a top Roslyn restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and most important and the food is excellent.. For an appetizer the zucchini and eggplant chips are a must. They are crispy, thin and not oily. I could make a meal out of them. Another of my favorites are their clams oregenata. For cocktails, my favorites are the raspberry martini and the spicy passion margarita. I don't love too much spice so, I always ask for them to go easy on the spice level. When I am in the mood for a really good salad I order the Pear salad, the goat cheese, pecans and the light sherry vinaigrette makes it stand out. For an entree you can't go wrong with Prime Bone - in Rib eye for two. The steak is flavors, tender and delicious. I love fish so I often order the roasted black sea bass or the whole red snapper. For a side dish - the truffle fries are sinfully good. You can't go wrong with the asparagus or creamed spinach. I am usually too full to even contemplate dessert. Sometimes, I will share homemade apple crisp, or the Keylime pie. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is due to a few of the servers being a bit brisk and impatient. This is a Ling Island gem, don't miss it.

Very lively and busy place. It's a very large space and it definitely has that fancy comfortable steak house vibe. It has a large fireplace with a lot of seating to wait for your table or you can sit in the bar area. I always opt to sit by the fire place. You have to make reservations otherwise you would have to wait because this place was packed. Good drinks and great food. The staff was friendly and very fast. We got our drinks right away. They took our order immediately because it takes time to cook the food. We had crab meat cocktail, grilled octopus, dry aged porter house steak, creamed spinach and their hash brown potatoes. For dessert we had key lime pie. Everything was delicious. Great food great friends what more can you ask for

I came here with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday during Sunday brunch. We had a reservation and arrived a little early so we were told to sit in the lounge area while we waited for our table. My first impression of the place was that it was beautiful inside and the lounge area was very cosy with a fireplace and couches. There's a bar area and seating both upstairs and downstairs on the main dining level. We were seated upstairs where it felt a bit cramped as they had placed 7 seats around one circular table. I had sat in the chair with the back to the wall and it was a tight fit and I could barely move my chair. The other tables were placed very close together and I could hear the nearby tables' conversations with how loud the noise level was. It was a busy Sunday afternoon and my family and I were starving and ready to order, but we experienced a bit of a wait since our server was attending to other tables. The waiter was friendly but the delay was noticeable. Now onto the food, overall it was average with some hits and misses. I highly recommend the fried calamari and Mac and cheese as appetizers. Both were very delicious. For drinks, I ordered the cold blooded margarita and loved it so much. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict but found the hollandaise sauce to be a bit too salty. There was a mix up with my order so while everyone else received their meals I had to wait a while for my order to be corrected. I was disappointed with the portion size of the home fries as it was quite small and barely had any potatoes. My mom ordered the steak and eggs and she liked how perfectly seasoned the steak was. Overall, service could be better and I'm willing to give the food another chance. There is also both valet parking and street parking available.

We were in town to visit family in Great Neck and they made a reservation at this place for the seven of us tonight. It was a great decision. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance with the low lighting and plenty of wooden features. We started off with some delicious cocktails, including the honeycrisp sangria. For appetizers, we had the zucchini and eggplant chips, wedge salad, calamari, clams oreganata, French onion soup, and two other salads. Everything looked and tasted great. For entrees we had the lamb chops, chicken, ribs, halibut, short ribs, Cornish hen, and cheeseburger sliders. All of the dinners were a good portion size and delicious. For dessert we had the fudge brownie with ice cream, coconut cake and mixed berries. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The only critique is that the music was too loud and we could not hear each other very well.

Loved this place! Not so happy with the service the wait is extremely long even if you have a reservation. But the overall food was delicious and i would definitely return

I have been coming to Hendrick's Tavern for a few years now. It's normally a spot I take customers out with coworkers or where our company holds our Christmas party. One thing before heading into hendrick's is that it is an upscale restaurant, therefore, you will be paying upscale prices. However, those prices are completely justified. Their zucchini chips are a staple for me and my coworkers. I am also A sucker for their waygu. Their other steaks are outstanding. Their tomahawk steak is usually what out customers get. For a date night, anniversary, or celebratory dinner; hendrick's is the spot. Cannot recommend it enough!

Dined at Hendrick's Tavern with a group on a Saturday night. Upon entering, I was very impressed by the restaurant's stylish decor. There's many sections of seating, and each section is stunning. The food was perfect. I had a chance to try many items and thought everything was delicious. The zucchini and eggplant chips were great and combined perfectly with the almond sauce. The pear salad was also very good. For entree, I shared the Dry Aged Porterhouse for two. It was absolutely devine and cooked exactly the way I like my steak. The Creamed Spinach was also excellent. For dessert, I tried the Key Lime Pie and the Carrot Cake, and both were just exquisite. I was not able to stop eating either of them. The restaurant was a bit more expensive than I expected, but I thought it was worth the price, and I would definitely go back for a special occasion.

Came here last night for the second time. This place is awesome! We started off with the pizza, eggplant/zucchini chips & the Thai coconut mussels. Wow all so good. No complaints at all. It's so funny that pizza is that good from a steakhouse. For dinner we did the red snapper for two, the cowboy rib eye, cream spinach, mashed potato & a Caesar salad. We could not finish everything but It was awesome & had some leftovers. Can't wait to go back.

This was my second meal at Hendriks Tavern after a wonderful first experience with my family, so we were really looking forward to going back. Unfortunately, the service at the door left a bad taste this time. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation -- just myself, husband and my two daughters -- and confirmed that our whole party was present. Instead of seating us in the main dining room (which had several open tables), we were led downstairs into an empty side room with about 15 vacant tables and no atmosphere at all. The host tried to seat us right in the middle of that empty space. We were dressed nicely and couldn't understand why we were being placed away from everyone else. When we politely requested to sit back in the main room, the host seemed annoyed, spoke into a microphone, and reluctantly moved us. It was awkward and frankly, offensive. The food, once again, was excellent -- but the attitude from the host really diminished the overall experience. I hope the restaurant addresses this, because it's disappointing when an otherwise great spot makes guests feel unwelcome.

The problem is that this restaurant has such a huge reputation and people rave about it so much that my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, I left thinking, "That was good... but THAT'S what everyone is raving about?" The pros: We got the porterhouse for two, and to be fair, the steak was tender and juicy and cooked well. The home fries were crispy and delicious, and the fried zucchini was crunchy and delicious. There were also plenty of employees around, so we were never exactly wondering where our waiter was. But there were quite a few things that made me scratch my head: First impressions matter, and the valet situation was confusing. The valet station is right by the front entrance, and pulling in, it wasn't immediately clear where you were supposed to go. Then we sat down and got cold bread and butter that was basically a hockey puck. Seriously... how am I supposed to butter cold bread with butter that could probably break a window? I'm going to an expensive steakhouse, I intentionally didn't eat much all day, and one of the first things put in front of me is basically something inedible. It sounds like a small thing, but at this level of restaurant, those little details matter. Warm bread and spreadable butter is something the cheesecake factory can manage. How is this their norm? There were also employees EVERYWHERE. I appreciate being well staffed, but there were so many workers standing around and huddled together that it actually made the restaurant feel a little chaotic. At one point I felt like there were more employees than customers. I was also pretty surprised there was no drink menu. No beer menu. No cocktail menu. Apparently I'm just supposed to have the waiter verbally list every beer they carry and order a cocktail without knowing what it costs. My wife wanted a specialty cocktail, and there wasn't even a menu to look through. Her Tito's martini was $25. Again, $25 isn't necessarily shocking at a high-end steakhouse, but I would like to know that before I order it. And she ordered it extra dirty, yet somehow it came out really sweet. Not exactly what she was going for. Another head-scratcher: every single appetizer was seafood. I understand seafood is popular, but literally every appetizer? For someone who doesn't eat seafood, that's a pretty big disappointment. Now for the star of the show: the steak. We got the porterhouse for two. Tender? Yes. Juicy? Yes. Flavorful? Not really. This was probably my biggest food disappointment. The steak wasn't bad whatsoever, but it needed seasoning. For a steakhouse with this reputation, I expected that first bite to be a "holy crap, that's good" moment. Instead, I was reaching for the salt. Some garlic, seasoning, or something to give it more flavor would have gone a long way. $160 for the porterhouse. $16 for home fries. $16 for zucchini. $25 for a martini After tax and tip, we're basically at $300 for dinner for two, and we didn't even get an appetizer or a drink for myself. I'm not mad that it cost $300, I'm mad that it didn't feel like a $300 experience. If I went to a moderately priced steakhouse and had this meal, I'd probably be saying it was great. But when you're charging these prices and have people talking about you like you're one of the best steakhouses around, the standard is different. I'm willing to pay for exceptional. I just didn't get exceptional. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but if I'm paying $300+ for dinner, I'm going to be critical. If I had gone in knowing nothing about the restaurant, I'd probably give it 4 stars and say we had a good dinner. But after hearing all the hype and having such high expectations 3 is all they earned from me Good steak. Good sides. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of staff. But I walked out thinking, "That's it?" I wasn't disappointed enough to say I had a bad experience. I just wasn't nearly impressed enough to understand why everyone seems to rave about this place.

Ultimately, our experience ended up right in the middle--some hits, but a few noticeable misses that kept it from being a stellar meal. The Highlights: The Coffee: Easily the absolute star of the morning! Rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection--it was easily the best part of the entire visit. The Atmosphere & Service: The overall setting is lovely, and the staff kept things polite and attentive throughout our meal. Where It Fell Short: The Drinks & Food: We ordered virgin mojitos, but the orange juice base tasted surprisingly flat and off, almost like it had been sitting out too long. The Omelette: I ordered a classic omelette, and while the presentation was decent, the execution was just plain bland. It felt like it was lacking key seasoning or fresh herbs to give it life, making the whole dish feel pretty uninspired. All in all, it felt a bit sub-par compared to the usual Roslyn dining standards. That said, brunch can be hit-or-miss depending on the day, and I'd still be open to coming back to give their dinner menu or other options another chance.

Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, which obviously isn't the restaurant's fault. What WAS incredibly disappointing was their solution: instead of seating us inside the actual restaurant, they walked us over to a completely separate, off-premise catering room nearby. We were literally the ONLY people sitting in this random room. It felt like we had been removed from the restaurant entirely and stuck in an overflow event space and not exactly the birthday dinner or Felice experience we made a reservation for. What made it worse was the host's attitude. Despite there appearing to be plenty of available tables inside the actual restaurant, she flat-out refused to seat us there and essentially told us we could either sit in the catering room or go somewhere else. No apology, no attempt to accommodate us, and honestly just incredibly dismissive and rude. It was such a bizarre and unwelcoming way to treat first-time guests. The food at least started off strong. The bruschetta and eggplant were both great! For dinner, we had the chicken Milanese and cacio e pepe, and neither was anything special. Our server was nice and the service itself was pretty good so I don't want that to go unnoticed BUT being shoved into an empty catering room and basically told to take it or leave it by the host completely overshadowed the rest of the night. For somewhere we were genuinely excited to try, it was an awful first impression and definitely not the experience we expected.

For entree, I got the burger which was perfectly cooked but did not have any seasoning so be sure to add some sauce of your liking. It did come with fries that were beautifully fried and seasoned. For dessert, I got the cookie sampler which came with 2 of 5 different cookies - chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, sesame, and chocolate. The cookies were fresh and they came out warm and soft. My favorites in this order are oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, and chocolate. Everyone else got the cheesecake with whip cream or chocolate cake with Ice-Cream. The cake slices were pretty big and heavy. Very nice ambiance and our server was attentive/helpful! Will definitely be back to the more things on the menu.
