Not even worthy of a 1 star- but can't let me do a 0. I will NEVER go to B Jewelers for ANY work in the future and will advise others to do the same for 3 reasons. 1. They did cheap , horrible work for repairing a ring 2. They did NOT stand behind their work with integrity to make things right 3. The owner- Brian Veness is a dishonest businessman that tries to scam people with lies. Fall of 2023- I took my ring into B Jewelers in Sun Prairie to be expanded in size. I have had this ring since 1995. I normally go to my cousin that is a jeweler (his father was also), however he was between job locations at the time. A shank was put in to expand the ring. Fast forward to March 2026- out for dinner and the ring got a chip in the shank. (1st pic) I only knew because it caught in my hair. I took it off- wiggled the area and low and behold the entire shank addition broke off at the seams. I did consult my cousin, and he advised that it looked like overheating of the joints in the welding process to add this shank. He was willing to fix it but said it may be best to go back to B Jewelers since they did this original work to see if they would honor their work. Dropped the ring off on March 6. Jessica advised that the "head Jeweler" would take a look at it the next week. I was called on March 10 to schedule an appointment to discuss my ring. I had a 3pm appointment on March 11- with Jessica and the owner Brian Veness. This is where ALL the lies began. They had a projection screen up with images of my ring on it. Brians first question was if I use ring cleaner. I advised here and there but not often. I also advised I don't use my ring in chemicals or chlorine pools. He said that even putting a ring into cleaners 1 time - can damage a ring and cause decay. He informed me that after looking at my ring- that it didn't break because of the work they did on it. It was because my ring has cracks in it. My ring is "disintegrating" and parts of it are like "sawdust". I questioned why it would break at the 2 points that it was welded for the shank. He explained because farther up it is breaking. I then advised that my cousin is a jeweler and I normally go to him , but why I came to B Jewelers for this original fix . I advised my cousin saw this ring and said it had to do with over heating during the welding process. He asked if we could call my cousin "right now". Wish I had done that - to set Brian straight. He even said he hoped my cousin who originally designed the ring had the mold- because the entire ring would need to be redone. There was nothing he could do to fix it. This is ALL a complete BS answer. He just doesn't want to stand behind his work. I took my ring to my cousin, at his reputable jewelry store in Madison on March 18. He looked it over VERY closely under the jeweler magnifying machine. There are ZERO cracks in the ring. The ring is NOT disintegrating nor turning to sawdust. The welding was done faulty. I will be getting it repaired by my cousin , paying more money to get it done right this time. I write plenty of very good reviews for local businesses of all types. However, this is more of a warning to others- do NOT take your jewelry to B Jewelers for any repairs. Not only will it possibly not be fixed correctly, but if anything goes wrong, they will NOT stand behind their work. And the owner--- Brain Veness- is NOT to be trusted. read more

I took two watches I bought online to B's to have the batteries replaced. They quickly took them and as they were vintage items spent extra time trying to find the correct battery for each. After several attempts, one was found to be inoperable, but the other one that required a rarely used battery began to function normally. After spending all that extra time, I was charged for only one battery, and with a smile. I few weeks later I returned to see if they could repair the band on watch number two that had come apart. Once again they took it immediately and quickly repaired it, with a minimal charge and another smile. Outstanding customer service ladies! You are the best. read more

Do your homework before doing business with this company! They have no guarantee or warranty on any of their work! Not only did they go way over budget with my engagement ring, but it has literally fallen apart before our wedding date. When we confronted the owner, Brian about all the issues he replied, "Well, we have to make money too..." Whatever happened to making a quality product?! They are far too interested in making a buck. B's Jewelers is an amazing place. Not only do they make custom rings that are fabulous they also care very much about you as a person. We recently had an unexpected death in our family and they helped us out with a special bracelet that they quickly fixed, twice! They showed extreme kindness and care. They also did not charge me. My fiance purchased a rather expensive engagement ring from B's but wasn't 100% sure of my ring size and ended up buying it a half size too big. I went in to have it resized and was first greeted by, "Where did you purchase this?" So, I guess they don't know their own products as it was only a week from when it was bought (in their defense I don't think he was the one who helped my fiance). I get my finger sized and they input the order and handed me a slip showing me a total for the repair and I was taken back as I was assuming my first sizing would be free (like most other places offer - I have NEVER paid for a first sizing) considering how much money was just spent buying the ring. So, I brought it up and one of the employees stated not to worry they would take care of it (should have got that in writing). Well when it came in a week later they called my fiance to let him know it was in and how much it would cost (this was their idea of taking care of it, asking my fiance to pay for it so I didn't have to). I felt this was totally wrong of them and they would not back off -- just gave me a well sorry attitude! Needless to say we do not plan on getting our wedding bands from here. They are pricey and don't warranty their jewelry and charge for EVERYTHING you will have done minus basic cleanings. Therefore their $40 sizing charge (which I know isn't a large amount of money but it is when you have already spent thousands) has cost them repeat business because with engagement rings comes wedding bands. I think the worst part was how misleading they were during the purchasing process, telling my fiance not to worry if it doesn't fit as they can take care of it but never once saying that it will cost us if he gets it wrong. Also the ring still didn't fit so I had to spend another $70 in work to get a proper fit. As a positive the ring is beautiful and so far seems to be holding together. I worry as it has 135 diamonds and how much money will need to be spent down the line doing prong repairs. My second experience in there was better than the first but I knew what to expect going in the second time. There are many places to buy jewelry from, and though we were trying to support local business it just doesn't pay off in the end. As an improvement, I think they should look at not just want is happening in the moment and think about how they can build life long customers. I understand they are a business and are there to make money but, no one wants to feel nickel and dimed. read more

I have been buying jewelry from B's since he began his business in Sun Prairie. I have also worked in fine jewelry retail myself. Brian works so hard to satisfy his customers and he does fine, excellent work! Whenever I have had an issue with a purchase (it happens) he has been absolutely fair about it to make it right. He has a wide range of jewelry to choose from, many price points. If you have something in mind that you'd like to have for your collection, let him know. He can probably find it for you. read more
