Went for lunch today and got quite an array. The wings were perfectly cooked. Crunchy outside and tender and juicy inside. Pad thai was good, I should have added a little spice The sushi rolls are the biggest rolls I have ever seen. We will be having leftovers for dinner. They have good food, terrible service. They gave me someone else's food for take out and I drove all the way home with it. When I drove back to grab my food they made me return it and didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience. I didn't touch the food but I opened it, not sanitary for whoever picked it up. also paid extra to add chicken the next time I went there and they charged for the chicken but didn't add it to the order. read more

I came here for the first time because I was craving something sweet and ordered a brown sugar milk tea with strawberry popping boba. I was really looking forward to it, but after just one sip, the drink was completely bitter with no sweetness at all -- definitely not what you'd expect from this kind of drink. I brought it up politely, thinking they might remake it or at least fix it, but instead I was told I'd have to buy a new one. For a first visit, it was really disappointing and left a bad impression. Came here a year ago and loved it ... today, not so much. The floors, entryway, bathrooms, and table top was not just dirty, it was filthy! Ordered the crab rangoon, volcano roll, spicy tuna roll and teriyaki chicken. Nice presentation. (See photos) Crab rangoon was over cooked. Unfortunately the chicken was cold and tasted like barbecue sauce. The volcano roll had COLD baked seafood on top that included baked salmon SKIN and it permeated the roll with a horrific flavor ... with one bite I was instantly nauseous. Just OK. Had the Thai Sampler appetizer, pad see ewe, and a sushi roll (can't remember which). The crab Rangoon and dumplings were good. The egg rolls were mushy inside and all I could taste was what I thought was white pepper. The sushi roll was mushy but tasted ok. The pad see ewe was not great. Customer service is horrible. I entered the restaurant to pickup my order. The owner and an employee were having tea laughing and chatting for several minutes. he made eye contact with me (owner) turnt away laughing some more with employee. I had to review Boa because it definitely deserves more than the two stars it had. I'm tempted to even give it five stars, but I try to reserve that for the best of the best. The location is very nondescript, but the food is prepared wonderfully. The presentation was nice and it was incredibly tasty. I was happy to bring the leftovers of my rather large portion home with me for lunch. The owners must have taken the service that Keith complained about seriously, because it was incredible. We went to this place by chance. We actually left another place due to VERY POOR service... From the outside it may not look like much but don't be fooled, this place is awesome. The girls working were in great spirits and were very friendly! After hearing about our failed first attempt for an evening out they took taking care of us to the next level!! We got a small bottle of sake and our server was great at explaining the taste. It was very good. I got Miso soup, which I totally love, and my fiancé got the seafood hot and sour soup. I have to admit, I would of never tried this place if it wasn't for a coworker telling me how great it was. The outside is not inviting at all, and they have a horrible business sign out front. The inside is clean, neat, but a little plain. The tables are set very nice, with cloth napkins. Very friendly service. They give you pineapple water that is great. The food was good, presentation was beautiful. You can see sushi ingredients close up, and the kitchen is view (which makes you feel good when you are unsure). They brought a small side salad with a great dressing, and miso soup We tried the hamachi nigiri and inari from the sushi menu, both were good, but average. We also had the Ha Kaow for an appetizer, and this was amazing! We tried the crispy pad thai, and regular pad thai, both were really good, though the shrimp was mediocre.Please note, if you want it spicy, you need to ask. They had a nice looking dessert menu, though we didn't try anything. Overall, decent enough atmosphere, good/great food, very friendly service. I tried Boa this afternoon because it was a rainy, cold day and I was craving something hot and delish. Boa did NOT disappoint! My standby, red curry with chicken, was absolutely delicious. I got it as a lunch special, and it was a generous portion of curry, plus a heaping helping of rice, and a little springroll on the side. My only complaint was the to-go packaging. For something liquidy, like curry, it was plunked in some foil, and then placed in a styrofoam box. Boa should invest in the typical Thai/Chinese food plastic carryout bowls. I wanted to be able to dump my rice into my curry and the foil contraption made that a bit difficult. That said, I've already spread the word far and wide to my colleagues that Boa should not be missed. Awesome food. read more

This review is for take out and Thai food only: I order a Thai dish (prik king) with jasmine rice for take out. I have tried many Thai places including some very good ones in Boston. The dish was very flavorful and well prepared. The sauce and flavors equaled the best I have had at many other places. I would have given four stars except for the portion size. For the price you should be able to have two servings (similar to Thai Dish and Boston establishments) but there was not enough to split. Flavors were excellent but you don't get what you pay for. The jasmine rice was prepared in a slow cooker or some type of setup which is fine. Only comment is there were a few overdone (dark brown) pieces. It should be fluffy and light with no overdone pieces. Overall: great place with some room for improvement. read more

One of the few good sushi places I go back to regularly. The service is average for the area but that's the only thing I think is average. At this point I always get the same thing the combination 5. The combination meals are such a good amount of delicious food for the price, same this most of their menu. The have a huge selection of everything especially special rolls. I've also had their orange chicken and beef and broccoli, both were fantastic but I usually go here for the fish. It's even good as take-out! If it were just me I'd give it a five star review, based on the food only. I had the crunchy roll and an appetizer of crab rangoon, both of which were delicious and filling and the presentation was very nice. I've tried four different sushi places in Maine so far and this is my favorite. The only reason I took a star off is because my girlfriend wasn't 100% satisfied with the dish she ordered. Not enough sauce, and she is asian, so I trust her opinion on asian food. The place itself isn't pretty, it was kind of old and grimy looking- typical fair for any asian restaurant in this area. but I'm not taking any points off for that because I don't care. Only mentioning it because some people might. Service was fine, except nobody ever came to ask if we were ready for our check, so we had to go up and pay. Their menu prices are way below their real prices: if you eat in and get the check you could very well be stuck paying for a much more expensive meal. this is messed up since demanding more money after saying the price would be lower after the customer has eaten is sleezy And dishonest. Hell doing it before they've eaten but after they've gone all the way down there and ordered is sleepy and dishonest. some people want to eat a nice healthy meal out somewhere and struggle to have the money to do it, so they finally decide they can afford it and order the most reasonably priced thing only to have the server just shrug and say "mark ups." read more

I didn't have high hopes for this restaurant and they didn't disappoint. I'll start with the service. It was slow. Awfully slow for how few people were in the restaurant. No regular check ins to see how we were doing, no apologies for the delay in how long the food was taking, long wait for the check. We asked for various things throughout our meal and we wouldn't get them after asking a second time. We ordered the vegetable miso soup, chicken pad Thai, and cashew chicken. The miso soup was plain and the vegetables weren't cooked fully. The cashew chicken had so much sauce in it, we could've drank it as a soup entree. There wasn't much flavor with it, so it was a disappointment, but not a surprise. Pad Thai is a staple at most Thai cuisine restaurants. Not here. Like the cashew chicken, there wasn't any flavor. I would've dealt with it, but the chicken was disgusting. Some sort of cross contamination happened where the chicken ended up tasting like seafood. And not fresh seafood. It tasted like old shrimp. If you can, avoid this place. Try somewhere else. I'm hoping to find a decent Thai place in this town and this wasn't it. read more
