If you find yourself in Brunswick around lunchtime, Watami is a must-visit. Located just off Maine Street, it offers a flavorful menu that includes ramen, sushi, poke, and noodle bowls. The lunch specials are especially worth it, each one served with a warm bowl of miso soup and a crisp salad topped with a dressing I wish I could buy by the pound. As a huge miso soup fan, I was not disappointed--Watami's is rich and satisfying. One tip I always follow when ordering ramen is to add a side of kimchi. The tangy heat pairs perfectly with the savory broth.

This is our favorite go to spot! We always go at least every month, sometimes multiple if we can (we have a bit of a drive to get there but we'd go every day if we could). Food is always fresh and tasty, beautifully plated with lots of options. Probably the best ramen and sushi around that I've found! Service is always attentive and respectful, some of the best we've experienced going places. The ambiance is always perfect and never a bad experience. I always recommend friends and family here and would tell anyone you have to go! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Best boba ever? The tapioca here is sooooo good I used to drive all the way from Augusta just to get it. Sushi is super fresh- very soft and good. OK prices, expensive but what sushi isn't. I personally prefer this place over the other sushi in the area. Service is nice, it's never been too crowded for me and I always leave happy :)

Boba made w/ real tea, not the fake artificial-tasting stuff that's pumped w/ sugary syrup. And they have crystal boba!

The BEST boba shop in MidCoast. They use real tea & real fruit, not artificially-flavored crap. Get the cheese foam topping...it's essentially a light whipped cream that tastes like cheesecake. It's way better than the translation sounds. You'll thank me later. Many flavors to choose & they have crystal boba which is major. The sushi is also quite good. Service is wonderful & lovely decor.

First of Lobster Rangoons I mean how do you not. Portland Maine being Lobster Paradise this just makes sense and is a must try staple here. Just takes your normal Chinese Crab Rangoon to the next level. The Char Siu Baos where the best BBQ Pork Bun I have ever had. I honestly wasn't expecting much but these were amazing. The Curry Udon was kind of a funny story. I said we should try this and my friends like me know it was vegan but for once that didn't bother me. This was great and so full of flavor. Plus you can't go wrong with Udon. Kung Pao Chicken is always my go to and this one takes the cake. The Chicken is lighty battered and so full of flavor. One of the best I have ever had. Our goal is to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere in the East End neighborhood, where you can unwind and enjoy our food and drinks with friends, family, or by yourself." Yep, that's the exact vibe (wouldn't compare it to a tavern though; it's much more trendy than that word implies. Also - the music here is distractingly good, so keep an ear out). It was easy to make a reservation online (I *strongly* suggest you do because it's a VERY tiny place; just know, they have a $15 charge per head if you cancel last minute); it's also nice to see more places in Portland that take reservations, y'know? + Our server was INCREDIBLE. He was friendly, unbelievably patient, read cues so well (we were old friends catching up, and he gave us all the space in the world to do so), was funny, and was so well informed about the menu. We had questions about the vegan options, and he had answers/made great recommendations. + The cocktails are really nice; the most photographed one, Lost In Thailand (rum, coconut rum, coconut water, Thai basil, lemongrass, Thai chili), wasn't for me. I'm just not a spicy drink lover, but the Gimlet Highball (gin, lemon, soda) was perfectly refreshing. + I think the menu changes relatively often, so be sure to check their website for the most current options. Things are clearly labeled vegan and/or gluten-free; if you don't mind things being fried together, the Marinated Tofu (fried tofu, radish, edamame, and citrus soy) is a fan favorite we were told. We tried the (vegan) Stir Fried Green Beans (confit garlic, chili sauce, sesame); good for the table to share, but they were much more crunchy/undercooked than I was expecting or would have liked. I wouldn't get them again. But the (vegan) Creamy Chili Noodles?! SUCH A DELICIOUS BOWL OF FOOD. Cucumber, wood ear and shiitake mushrooms, cilantro, peanut sauce, fried red onion, chili crisp. It was hearty, it was flavorful, I think it started off warm but it was one of those dishes that as it cooled... it was just as good (if not better). Absolutely worth coming out of your way for, vegan friends!

The meal started with spicy cucumbers, fried eggplant, and Korean fried chicken. The cucumbers were refreshing, sweet, spicy, and dangerously addictive. The eggplant was crispy, sticky, and packed with flavor. And the fried chicken? My partner could have just eaten that alone and been happy! The four of us went all in on the largest combo platter. Short rib, ribeye, pork belly, shrimp, chicken, veggies--the grill was working overtime. The short rib ipractically melted, the ribeye was buttery perfection, and the pork belly reminded us why pork belly has such a devoted fan club.
