I ordered the chicken breast and chose to have it fried (you can also get it grilled if you're looking for a healthier option). The chicken was really good and flavorful. I wasn't a big fan of the mashed potatoes, though--they didn't stand out to me. For an appetizer, I ordered a platter, and that was good as well. Cheyenne was such an amazing staff member! She could not have been more impressed by her quick response to our large party (11 people) needs! We had the best dinner at Bubba Gump tonight! Not only was the food amazing, but the service from both the manager and server was impeccable. The server engaged us with trivia and really made it fun. It's been years, maybe a decade to be exact since I last visited this Bubba Gump in Monterey. I was hanging out in Pacific Grove and Cannery row with my family today and we decided on Bubba Gump for dinner. They had something for each of us and thought it might be fun for our kids and for myself to revisit after all these years. We had 6:30 reservations and we arrived a wee bit early and checked in then cued to another list to be seated. I forget how busy this place gets and worse on the weekends. Hubby and I checked out the souvenir shop with the kids then we let them venture off while we waited for a text to be seated. Neither of us are part of their rewards program, so we weren't priority seating although we had made a reservation prior to arriving. (I find this practice odd). We were seated about 25 minutes after our reservation time. The crowd to get in was insane and the dining room was filled to capacity. The hostess Lil ann was rude and service as a whole was slow. We were seated next to a party of 14 that was seated about 45 minutes prior to us and we got our food around the same time. Our server, "Peanut" did the best she could. I get that they can only serve as fast as their kitchen will put out orders. We ordered a shrimpers net catch and garlic bread as an appetizer. This appetizer was the reason we came back here, but the sauce wasn't the same. Fish and chips were great, but the Jambalaya was disappointing. Parts of the rice were undercooked and the dish lacked protein. Our kids had kids meals, a cheeseburger and a Mac and cheese with grapes. We ate fairly quickly and sadly it took longer for us to settle out our bill. We came for the shimpers net catch and fish and chips. Forrest Gump is my favorite movie of all time, so I had to stop here when visiting the aquarium as it is just a walk away. Watermelon Margarita (4/5): Pretty strong and good bang for your buck. The flavor of the watermelon was good too. However minus 1 for giving me a brain freeze Run Across America Sampler (5/5): Can't decide which appetizer to get? This is the perfect one. It was a while ago that we visited this Bubba Gump. Actually, it was 8 years ago we were at this Bubba Gump. I rated it 5*'s then and I'm rating it the same this time. We love this place. Again, we waited for a table right at the edge with a gorgeous ocean view. Our server was great .... no complaints there! The view was to die for. It just doesn't get better than this location. There is semi-outside seating and inside seating. Take your pick as it is all good. The menu is mainly about seafood but there are a few options for those that aren't seafood fanatics. One of my favorite restaurant spots! Came in and didn't have to wait long at all. At first I was seated at a booth but it was super tight since there was a pole and it looked like the seat row was longer than the table! Soon after I was moved to a window view and it was perfect. I got the seafood feast and the garlic bread appetizer. Also the ribeye was phenomenal with the mashed potatoes and the side of gumbo was the perfect spice. Our waitress, Monica, was awesome and made our dining experience amazing. She was fun and was so on top of everything. She did Forrest Gump trivia between three tables while we all waited for our food and I didn't realize how many times I've seen that movie because I pretty much knew all the answers, some were harder than others. Monica also brought us refills before we realized we even needed them, which was really nice to be able to receive service like that. I ordered Jenny's salmon and shrimp with no rice but added a side salad and as always, it's a lot of food, but the salmon and shrimp were so good. Next time I'd get the butter on the side. The broccoli was steamed to perfection and I was only able to eat a few bites of my side salad. My teen didn't love her chicken sandwich, but she's pretty picky. She has yet to find something here that she really likes. My husband is a vegetarian and got spaghetti with marinara and he said it was really good. It was nice that they were able to accommodate him. As always, their garlic bread loaves are top tier and we got a few of those. They really are that good. I absolutely love this place!!! I drive from Salinas just to go eat here. We usually get the pound fishermen Cajun shrimp net and the shrimp New Orleans. So amazing. This was my second time to this Bubba Gump's in Monterey. I went with a group of six and they were able to accommodate seating fairly quickly so there was a long wait. I had the jambalaya minus the shrimp which I'm allergic to and they are able to Substitute that out which I appreciated. The menu of course is fish and shrimp with some other options chicken steak, etc. a lot of people were getting the drinks which looked pretty tasty if you're looking for a fun place just to go grab a bite in Monterey. We went on a Sunday and called to make reservations while at the aquarium. They gave us a time and as soon as we got there, they sat us right away. It was around 12:15pm. It was not packed and service was pretty fast. Its safe to say we ordered a little bit of everything. The calamari was really good and cane with two different types of sauce. I tried both and were very good. One was like a tartar sauce and the other a marinara sauce. I ordered a cup of clam chowder for 7.99, my husband the bowl for 17.99. I really felt like the cup was not enough at all. We also got some Cajun shrimp catch which was delicious with their garlic bread, a pizza kids meal for my daugther with fries and a drink and 3drinks. Paid about 110 total. We always go and safe to say we will continue to go. Highly recommend to go as soon as they open. read more

The service and experience is amazing and I love coming here for the theme of the restaurant. But the pasta I got was very very greasy. The chicken,pasta, and bread were good but after I was almost done eating it all there was a lot of grease. I think there was more grease on my plate than a large pizza. We got seated right away after making a reservation on open table. The shrimp New Orleans was very tasteful. It was a group of 9 of us and had a great time. However when it was time to pay they did take a long time to come to our table and gave us the receipt and told us to split it ourselves.
