This location was subpar. The service wasn't great either. My husband got a crispy quesadilla and substituted the Birria with chicken and she made it really difficult to order anything not precise and charged for sour cream because his only comes with birria sauce. She was rude. They were out of chipotle crema we learned after we paid for it. The chips were gross and soggy! We didn't even eat them and her whole vibe was really unpleasant. I will not go back to this location but the hazlet location is SO GOOD! read more

New Bubbakoos in Shrewsbury, I think they'll be better than 3 stars, but the rating is justified for the time being as I came about a week after it opened. Staff was super friendly, but the food didn't taste the same, some things were slightly off from other locations. I got a bowl and they put it in a paper boat which honestly can't handle the weight of a fully loaded bowl. They really need a better, more sturdy bowl for this because I felt it was going to fall through. I asked for queso on it and immediately regretted it as I saw it getting poured on it was super watery and I almost asked for a totally new bowl as I was so turned off at how unappetizing it looked and I didn't taste it at all. New location, and there will be growing pains but it didn't seem like there was an owner or manager there 1 week after opening which in my opinion is needed to work out the kinks. read more

Eh, I only eat Bubbakoos if it's convenient because I am not fond of their food. They measure the exact amounts for everything that goes into their tacos and it's less than most places you get tacos at. This time I thought I would try a different meat in my tacos. So I tried the shredded chicken. I didn't notice when the employee was making my tacos, but there is so much chicken juice in the chicken that it made the tortillas soggy. this location SPECIFICALLY has really bad service, and almost always get the order wrong, they usually never give me the guac that I order, and the fries!!! those fries were untouched, there's about five there. they put the wrong cheese on my nachos, didn't give me the rice, and didn't give me ranch with my buffalo cauliflower ( which comes with the order). things like this happen continually, usually the same thing every time i order, but sometimes it changes to something else. I only order with the online app- so there is no way possible for them to misunderstand of mishear what i ask for, there is no excuse for this!!! This Bubbakoos location is still relatively new to the area. I visited recently and was happy I walked through the door when I did since a lengthy line formed behind me and with only one employee working, it was a little but of a wait. I enjoy Bubbakoos every now and then- I typically prefer other chains in the fast casual Mexican debate but the new addition of this location to Shrewsbury plaza does bring something new to my lunchtime routine. On my recent visit, the food was fresh and the store was clean. I do think Bubbakoos can be somewhat pricey with their add ons and up charges for steak or buffalo chicken. The staff is kind at this location and offer water cups for beverages. They do offer a tempting 2 for $22 meal deal that I definitely want to check out in the future. read more

We went in 45 minutes to close we wanted something quick that we know would be good. Walking up the open sign was off so we were confused but the door was open. The floors were already mopped and as you walked up they were cleaning behind the counter. There was no food in the warmers expect for the pico and lettuce. As we tried to order we were stared at like we weren't paying customers standing in front of them. The first order they had the ingredients. When we went to order the other two entrees we were informed they didn't have nacho cheese. We decided that was okay and then asked for grilled chicken as the meat. This was also informed as they do not have but they have shredded or crispy but that would take 4 minutes like it's an inconvenience to them. When we decide against the other two entrees we basically were dismissed as we paid for the entree that was made. We would have left it but we paid since it was made already. This customer service was terrible for two people that work in customer service everyday. I haven't been to one of these locations in over two years. It's great to know that they standards are still high and you can still count on great food. I stopped by after work with a coworker, he ordered a Vegan Burrito Bowl and I got my usually Chiwawa with grilled chicken & sweet chili..it was just as good as I remember. I love Bubbakoos. I already left a 5-star rating for our new, "go to" restaurant but I want to compliment the staff we met last week. Niko, Helayna and Gianna were just as friendly and awesome as the other super nice customer- focused, staff. They even brought an ice cream over for us, "on the house" We go in there at least once a week and have tried almost all the food but I will say this, the staff behind the counter, couldn't be nicer. I have been going to Bubbakoo's for years now in Eatontown. So when I heard this was opening up across the street form my job I was excited ! Have order twice so far and always good. This third time I did delivery. decided to order chips and queso with my burrito bowl. I love queso. It should be a creamy cheesy consistency. Today it came to me so incredibly watered down. Idk if I'm crazy but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be thicker. Maybe it was the delivery ? But I doubt it. I will continue to be a patron because I love them. We were out of sour cream, and they forgot to include it the last time we ordered, so I made sure to remind him to add it to the order. Not only did he add it on as a quesadilla extra, he made an additional order note to include sour cream. The food showed up and...no sour cream....again. We contacted them to inform them of THEIR mistake and were met with the BIGGEST attitude and told verbatim "If you want it, come pick it up yourself". That is the final time we will ever place an order with them. They have proven unreliable and are obviously comfortable employing rude staff. When I asked why they were putting such little amount of rice and beans the owner said he wants to make money. Real arrogant business owner who has no knowledge of how to properly run a business. Been wanting to go here for a long time and finally did. I got a burrito with ground beef, rice, sriracha sauce, lettuce and pico. It was ok, but nothing to brag about. The outside of the burrito (if that was a real tortilla) was cold...would been good if it was heated, the white rice was too sticky for a burrito...they should offer Mexican rice, the guy that started making my burrito wasn't too friendly, but the one that finished making was very nice.
