    Chicken Bowl

New Bubbakoos in Shrewsbury, I think they'll be better than 3 stars, but the rating is justified for the time being as I came about a week after it opened. Staff was super friendly, but the food didn't taste the same, some things were slightly off from other locations. I got a bowl and they put it in a paper boat which honestly can't handle the weight of a fully loaded bowl. They really need a better, more sturdy bowl for this because I felt it was going to fall through. I asked for queso on it and immediately regretted it as I saw it getting poured on it was super watery and I almost asked for a totally new bowl as I was so turned off at how unappetizing it looked and I didn't taste it at all. New location, and there will be growing pains but it didn't seem like there was an owner or manager there 1 week after opening which in my opinion is needed to work out the kinks.

Incredible "built to order" nachos. Yummy...

A new burrito place opened up across the street from my UPS Store. I stuck my head in it just to look around. I have probably only had two burritos in my entire life and that was when I was a kid and didn't know any better. Real Mexicans don't eat burritos, broccoli or bell peppers! Anyway, I would never defile a Texas A&M Aggie Ring by allowing it to be near something as nasty as a burrito. I was about to turn around and get the hell out when Jersey Shore Aggie Ring quietly said to me, "Sir... Excuse me Sir, they have nachos." "Holy Mother of Baby Jesus on a Donkey" I said to myself. Nothing gets past an Aggie Ring. They must have superpowers. I looked at the menu board. The place custom builds nachos to order. "I'll be damned." said Aggie Ring when he noticed that they had twelve different meat/seafood options and countless vegetable and sauce choices for their delicious nachos. I'm pretty sure I saw a tear well up in Aggie Ring's eye when he noticed that they not only had jalapeños, but two different types of jalapeños. "Well," laughed out Aggie Ring. "Christmas came early this year." As always, Aggie Ring made sure that only white cheese was dusted upon his nachos. Real Mexicans and legitimate Aggie Rings don't eat yellow or orange cheese. #AggieRing www.texasaggiering.com

The food is great just like the other locations, extremely friendly staff however this is the third time now that I've ordered a bowl from there and it's barely been filled. I paid $18 including delivery for this? That's ridiculous. And it's not the first time. This is the most I've gotten to be honest, yes there has been less on other occasions.

Eh, I only eat Bubbakoos if it's convenient because I am not fond of their food. They measure the exact amounts for everything that goes into their tacos and it's less than most places you get tacos at. This time I thought I would try a different meat in my tacos. So I tried the shredded chicken. I didn't notice when the employee was making my tacos, but there is so much chicken juice in the chicken that it made the tortillas soggy. I could barely keep them together. And the juice kept running down my hands... it was a mess. There's not much else to say. Bubbakoos is a cheap wannabe taco place.

I did have a bunch of their sauces and salsas. None really stood out except their green sauce, which was used sporadically. Birria Tacos - These were very good. The consommé was flavorful, while the beef was tender. The tortilla was crisp too even with the consommé added. Elote Corn - This was rather plain. There was only a crema and cotija cheese present. It seemed like chili powder was supposed to be added, but I did not taste or see any. The corn could have been cooked a little better too. Guacamole - This was tasty. It appeared fresh and paired well with the chips given. I really liked the texture of it too. Chicken Flautas - These were deep fried tortillas with chicken, sour cream, lettuce, and cotija cheese I believe. These were solid. The chicken could have been seasoned a little more, but the tortillas were crisp and held up. Choriqueso Con Tortillas Tostadas - This was melted jack and Oaxacan cheese topped with Mexican chorizo over toasted nixtamal homemade corn tortillas. The cheese and chorizo was excellent, with lots of flavor. It did not look the best but tasted good. The corn tortilla was either old and stale or just fried way too long as it was very tough to chew. It could have made for a great bite. Will I go back? Debatable.

The meats were all incredible, especially the flat saucy meat (never found out exactly what it was!) The beans, guacamole, chips, ribs, chicken and grilled burritos were all spot on. Later I discovered there was also shrimp and corn! Just with there had been sour cream or a crema. But definitely a great wedding meal.

We walked in the front door and wanted to sit in their outdoor patio area in which you walk around the side alley of the restaurant to the back. It's half covered and half open patio seating. The staff here was very attentive and good. Just once we got our meal it was hard to find out server again to get the check and pay. Free chips and salsa are brought to the table. The verde salsa was much better than the red salsa. I ordered the hibiscus juice which was sweet and perfectly sour and refreshing in this heat wave. We ordered the tostadas and burritos chistosos. The food came out rather quick as we were one of two tables there. My tostadas were good just extremely messy to eat. The two mini burritos the beef was far superior to the chicken one. The crema queso sauce was the best part of the burritos for it was packed with flavor. The beans and rice were just okay as they really didn't have any type of flavor. Pricing was average depending on what you ordered and most meals came with a side of rice and beans as well.
