For a quick serve delicious meal, they never disappoint. The classic surf taco is crispy with fresh greens don't forget the salsas it pairs perfectly with the rice and beans

Was really hungry. Never been and was underwhelmed. Got a Maverick burrito with guac. It was surprisingly bland. No sauce, no seasonings, no flavor. If I were to go again, I wouldn't order the burrito. My partner had the BBQ chicken bowl and enjoyed it.

This time they added pico thinking I didn't want tomato, lol.

This location is unfortunately not cutting it anymore. Ordered tonight thru the app. My screenshot shows what I put "no pico - tomato allergy". Get home and settled & go to eat, my fiance takes a bite, full of pico. Clear as day and the ticket on my bag says in red "no pico de gallo." I'd say no big deal if it didn't happen on my last order too. If her meal is ruined, so is mine because then I didn't enjoy my meal for the second time. Sorry but the app is not good and clearly the info being typed in is somehow not being seen by the kitchen or they are just ignoring it. I had to call and got told "I should see a refund in 3-4 days." Cool I feel great about my chances of seeing that...

    Chicken quesadilla with surf sauce

I was surprised how big and delicious the tacos were for a chain restaurant. Fish was fresh and not fishy and the surf sauce was the perfect addition with the squeeze of lime. I would say reminds me of chipotle mayo ....Def my new fave quick lunch spot and for $7.99 can't beat it yummmm. The chicken quesadilla was huge as well and they didn't skimp on the fillings. I will be an often return customer, and they're on uber eats which was perfect for my lazy day off.

Chicken tender taco with a side of guac

I've been to almost all of ST's locations and their spot in Red Bank just isn't my favorite. It has more a commercial and industrial feel and less of a beachy laid back vibe. Considering that this is one of the only locations not on the beach, I guess that makes sense. But I still prefer the Long Branch or Belmar location any day of the week. It's also always really overcrowded here. Atmosphere aside, it's Surf Taco and regardless of which location you choose, they've got delicious food that is consistent every time. I only ever order a chicken tender taco, which has crispy breaded chicken topped with ranch, shredded cheddar, pico and lettuce. It's delicious, perfect and probably one of the better things that I've had to eat. One overflowing taco with complimentary chips and a side of guac is usually more then enough to satisfy my appetite. Tacos aside, there are a ton of different routes to take. Fajitas, dillas, burritos, bowls, wraps, salads.... the list is endless. If you have never been to a Surf Taco then don't waste time. Go!

    Costa Rican Burrito with chips.

New favorite Tex-Mex restaurant! I had the Costa Rican Burrito. It tasted home-made, not too salty. Rice beans, pico de gallo, cheese, HUGE tortilla. It didn't upset my stomach like Chipotle usually does. I was totally digging the surfer vibe. I felt like I was in Cali, not cold NJ. If you aren't in Red Bank, there are plenty of locations in the Jersey Shore. A visit to the Jersey Shore isn't complete without Surf Taco!

If you want to charge $2 for "fresh avocado" maybe it shouldn't be completely rotten..

The menu is extensive so there are a lot of options and undoubtedly something for everyone. Guacamole and chips were fresh, when eating the salsa the green one is rather spicy so keep that in mind (we love spicy so it was perfect). Tacos as an option is great because you can get them all the same or mix it up and order fish, pork, shredded pork and or sausage. The meat is slow cooked and accompanied by melted cheese, onions, and cilantro.....the perfect combination to dance on your Palate. The fish taco was lightly breaded chunks of fish and was not in the slightest bit greasy. I would highly recommend you order a horchata drink....it's a non-alcoholic, sweet, and refreshing drink. Horchata is made by blending white rice and cinnamon sticks in water and letting them soak overnight. After the rice and cinnamon are discarded, the remaining liquid is then flavored with vanilla, sugar, and ground cinnamon.....a must try and a drink you will crave all the time.

Communication can sometime be a little difficult, but the food more than makes up for it. Update 1: 5 stars again, got delivery via the restaurant a few days back. The arabes had great flavor, and lasted for days. Chorizo tacos were obviously the favorite, as expected. Also, was blown away by how filling and delicious the Cemita was. Support local businesses, if you can, please! I was starving after my massage and ordered tacos to go - two tacos with chorizo, potatoes, onions and one with chicken, smoked chipotle. Literally sped home to eat them (I had one in the car right away. Don't regret it) Amazing, amazing tacos. The chorizo tacos said onions (cebolla) but they were long stemmed bulbs - not sure if they're called something else but I loved them (please let me know if anybody knows what they're called. Check photIt came with lime, radish and green salsa (not sure). Red Bank has awesome options if you don't care about these places being small, cramped and not upscale. Top quality authentic Mexican food. I'm going to go back soon to try more of their menu.

I love tacos, especially when they are authentic. Red Bank has no shortage of Mexican restaurants…read moreso I went on a mission to find lengua (beef tongue), which can be hard to come by. Thankfully North of the Border came through. I like to try a variety of tacos but unfortunately NOTB, like many others, does not let you mix and match. Therefore, I chose an order of 3 lengua and 3 chorizo tacos. I also ordered a bottle of coke to go. I had to do a double take of the receipt as my total was pushing $30. I asked the woman at the counter to break down the prices and confirmed that the lengua tacos were $13 and chorizo were $9. This threw me off as an older picture of the menu shows all tacos priced at $7. I really enjoyed these tacos. They were super authentic and full of flavor. I may order again but will be shopping around first to find tacos that are more reasonably priced.

We walked in the front door and wanted to sit in their outdoor patio area in which you walk around the side alley of the restaurant to the back. It's half covered and half open patio seating. The staff here was very attentive and good. Just once we got our meal it was hard to find out server again to get the check and pay. Free chips and salsa are brought to the table. The verde salsa was much better than the red salsa. I ordered the hibiscus juice which was sweet and perfectly sour and refreshing in this heat wave. We ordered the tostadas and burritos chistosos. The food came out rather quick as we were one of two tables there. My tostadas were good just extremely messy to eat. The two mini burritos the beef was far superior to the chicken one. The crema queso sauce was the best part of the burritos for it was packed with flavor. The beans and rice were just okay as they really didn't have any type of flavor. Pricing was average depending on what you ordered and most meals came with a side of rice and beans as well.
