My sister's and I have always had great experiences at Bubba's 33, especially the one at the Alamo Ranch location. Their customer service is always top tier! This particular day we stopped by for a late lunch on a weekday. Completely different vibes to when you come at night during the weekend. On the weekends it's bit more lively, but not overstimulating. We ordered a BBQ Chicken Pizza, a Buffalo Classic Pizza, and a Bacon Cheeseburger. Their burgers are always a good option, along with their pizzas. We got 2 - 12 inch pizzas which is plenty for 3 people. I will say that we won't be ordering the Buffalo Classic again, it was just too tangy and we were not a fan of the blue cheese crumbles. Took our out of town parents to what was our favorite burger stop to be assaulted by the music before even entering the restaurant. Once inside asked for someplace quieter so my parents with hearing impairments could enjoy the meal. Not to mention the music was so loud was hurting my ears and had to get within 3 ft of the hostess just to speak and be understood. After taken to a table directly under a speaker when once again the table runner couldn't even understand me, we went back to the front. Here's the rub, after asking once again if they could seat us somewhere where the music wasn't so loud you couldn't talk, was told nowhere would do. After asking if the music could be turned down a bet was told.This is the lower manager likes it played at. The young woman at the front then started getting upset and told me we were welcome to eat somewhere else.If we didn't like it. Was also told that it's a sports bar, and that's just how the atmosphere is.Even though the restaurant was full of children and families trying to enjoy themselves. I'm sure that if I asked someone from the EPA to go in and assess the restaurant, they are clearly above the 85 decibel threshold. Hubby had received a free meal coupon during Veterans Day, so we decided to revisit since it had been awhile. A generous coupon with a limited choice of menu items and included a drink. We arrived at around 4pmish, no wait. Tangi was our server, friendly and attentive. We ordered a pizza and a guacamole bacon burger sans cheese and I substituted a side salad for fries $1.99 extra. The side salad came out quick, our mains however not so much. We did have to flag Tangi down to inquire how much longer. She stated kitchen made a mistake and added onions that hubby had deleted in order. So a bit longer, food arrived. Pizza was excellent! Okay so the wait in line was really fast but the service was lowkey bad ! Our waiter barely checked on us ! My boyfriends drink need to be refilled , whenever we got the food handed to us, the waiter kind of just placed the food down and left and I didn't want to be that person to ask other of the coworkers but unfortunately I had to. I'm not trying to compare services since I'm a server as well at another restaurant but communication does go a long way and I know teamwork plays a lot too so maybe if the guy felt like he was overwhelmed or too stressed or anything he could've definitely been like hey I'll be right back. We had a great experience at Bubba's! I made use of their online waitlist and we're sat quickly on a busy Saturday night. We were sat in a corner booth and our waitress came to us pretty quickly. The food is good. It will always taste good, but you have about a 50/50 chance of getting good quality. This location is NEVER consistent. And when I pay $2 more for loaded fries it would be nice if there was more than 3 pieces of cheese on top of cold fries. Absolutely not worth it, so when I want to have bubbas I have to drive 50% to the next one because this kitchen can't get it together! I visited this restaurant with my wife and son last weekend. We just wanted to go for lunch and really had no place in mind. My wife mentioned this place, and I checked out the menu on line and saw several nice choices that led me to trying it out. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, an old favorite of mine. The picture in the menu and the written description made me think it would be a good one. I had fries with it, which the server talked me into upgrading with cheese and bacon. The sandwich was great. My only complaint was that it was cooked a few seconds too long, making it really crunchy. Still, it tasted very nice with all the traditional "innards". The raspberry jam was more of a dipping sauce, but did the job. The cheese and bacon on the fries was definitely overkill. The seasoning on the fries was already good enough. Besides, I have issues with too much greasy food and really didn't need the extras added to my meal of a deep fried sandwich. As it is, I only ate half of the sandwich and about ten of the fries from the edges without the cheese. My wife had the southern fried chicken, which was like a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. She said it was really good. I would like to go back for a club sandwich in the near future. I think I will pass on all the fried foods. I only wish they had a vanilla milkshake. That would have been perfect. Our server was really good. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were able to get seated right away. The service was attentive and the food was fresh. The wings and the pizza were the stars here. The burger was good, but not a lot of flavor on the patty and I wasn't a fan of the Bubba sauce (get it on the side). It's too sweet for my liking, but the overall burger was cooked well and was hot when it arrived to our table. The kids pizza was a generous portion and the crust was crispy and flavorful. The pizza is phenomenal. Visited the in-laws for thanksgiving and we ended up here twice (maybe 3), every time getting the Meaty Meaty pizza. It was cooked perfectly both times we got it. Your manager - Byeanne - or whatever, has horrible customer service skills and should be relocated to the Bubba's in Cuba. We were a party of 7, 3 kids and 4 adults. We decided on Bubba's to watch the Spurs game mainly, as well as the Hockey games in the Playoffs (Dallas Stars). Being a sports fan, my family will never eat at Bubba's again. First of all, I had to ask 7 different times to put the Stars game on only 1 TV out of the 30 TV's in the bar. I got frustrated because the manager would not put on the game, so I gave up there with the understanding that I am not allowed to enjoy the Hockey Playoffs in San Antonio. That was the beginning. The AC stopped working, so it was 90+ degrees in the bar area... The kids found hair in the desert (the Cookie desert), as well as the cheesecake that they ordered never came. When we brought it to the servers attention, she mentioned that it was 86'd without the kitchen actually 86ing it, and instead of asking if we wanted anything else, they brought us the Brownie desert. The manager came to the table and had a horrible response to the comedy of errors. She acted like it was our fault. I could have looked past all of the above, and just moved on with life by never visiting Bubba's again. I am writing this now, because the manager literally kicked the whole restaurant out (more than half-full) by turning off all the TV's and sound with only 3 mins left in the Spurs Game! Then she (Byeanne) came into the bar and yelled, "too bad, the Spurs won already" We are in San Antonio and this was an important game for us die-hard fans. I have never seen anything like it in the Customer Service industry...and I was a Bartender/Server for 15 years. This is not how you want your clients to feel or be treated, so I hope the proper actions are taken. I foresee your restaurant not surviving in San Antonio if this is how you treat your guests. For a Friday night, around 630 pm, party of 4 was a 20-30 minute wait We got seated inside and the music is a bit loud, but that's definitely the theme of the restaurant. January 24 around 6pm. My wonderful family and I sat in the back by the black and white guitars. Music was so good we considered getting up and dancing. Our server was great and our food was delicious. My beautiful wife loved her "Midnight Train " and my "Berry Smash" was also a very tasty drink. The fried pickles come with their like special bubbas sauce which is a lot like the campfire sauce from Red Robin. The fried check was reaaaaaal juicy and that gravy was good too. Didn't taste much of the garlic in the potatoes but still yummy. Service was a little on the slower side but it seemed like managers were coming behind waiters to help. The hamburger was average. Nothing special. This place is not handicap friendly which is important for those of us in wheelchairs and walkers. The tables and chairs are those that are high up bar table and stools. There are tables at the outside patio but it was not air conditioned and was freaking hot. However today we received the on of the worst costumer service from our server "Kelsie" that is assigned to our corner table by the bar. We been waiting for maybe about 10-15 mins and no one has approach us to ask if we are ready for our order so I nicely inquire in the front.. while our server Kelsie introduced herself to take our order, she seem frustrated that I inquired in the front desk who our server was (her face , tone of her voice and body language say it all!!!).. she is probably having a busy day however part of eating in a restaurant is not only the good food but the "experience" .. all she could have done is say I'm sorry for the delay... I lost my appetite to eat so I decided to walked out with my family and look for another place to dine.. My experience with Bubba's is a mixed bag. When it comes to the service and being seated, my in-laws, wife, and I came into eat here and were seated immediately. Within a few minutes, our server came to take our orders. The service was amazing, and it was quite busy. After about 10 minutes of ordering, our food came out. Here is where a star was lost. The chicken wings were mediocre at best. With names like habanero hot, you expect that the chicken be mouth searingly spicy. The chicken probably was the level of a buffalo wing you'd find any pluckers or any other wing bar. The breading of the chicken was good, which kind of saved the dish overall. Our server was consistently checking in on us and kept our drinks topped up. I would definitely come back here, but I would probably not get the chicken wings again. read more

Stopped in after a round of golf, hungering for a burger type of food, and spied this eatery in with Culebra Commons, the trendy and busy retail inside the loop 1604. Parking is not an issue, with slots front and sides of the restaruant. Bubba's 33 offers some two dozen eateries across the region, the name taken from the nickname of the founder, and '33' is an homage to the year that Prohibition ended. The restaurant is of "diner" design, with booths and tables easily numbering a few dozen. The walls are covered with images of sports memorabilia, and flat screen TV plays sport games, and during my visit, videos of remarkably talented people skiing, jumping rope, performing gymnastic feats, displaying skills with balls of all sorts...truly a very interesting display of talents! I was frankly spellbound with some of these videos! Loud music of various genres plays in the background, and the ambience is best described as lively...as in VERY LIVELY! (I noticed some reviewers found this a bit distracting.) The staff were extremely welcoming and professional. Louis, the server at table was knowledgeable of the menu, particularly with my interest: their Montecristo sandwich, a recent addition to the menu. The sandwich is essentially gigantic, with fried wheat bread, fillings of turkey, ham, and two types of cheeses, the cheeses oozing from the sandwich. Also on plate, a small dish of raspberry preserves for dipping. Sided with the sandwich: Bubba's seasoned fries. It had been some while since I had enjoyed the sandwich, and I must tell, the Bubba's iteration is to die for! The preserve added an interesting complement to the sandwich, a blending of flavours that i had not expected. The fries were just perfect: crust outside and tender innards. This menu item does come with a cost: 900 plus calories. I enjoyed half the sandwich, taking the other half for dinner...so I salved my conscience... and my diet with that particular maneuver. I ordered an Old Fashioned as digestif to finish the experience. I had never visited Bubba's 33, and I can say that the visit was to be recommended. Excellent staff, delicious food and fun ambience! The food way okay. We were at table 233 Service was not great. It was slow. Really slow. They put us, I imagine as her only table across the entire restaurant from her normal section. She was largely unatentive to our table we had to continuously look for her to get any kind of service. At one point we needed refils after 10 minutes of waiting She came to our empty table section not to check on us but to finish he side work. Had one of us not waved her down on her way out of our section we'd still be with empty cups until our food arrived. The kitchen really needs to pay attention to tickets. Our fries were dead. I'm assuming they fired the burgers first knowing there was a long cook time item on the ticket and the rest of the food sat under the hot lamp until the pizza was done.
