Liver and onions

Great service and excellent customer service and care. Fast service and piping hot food. Took home leftover plenty for another meal. Clean, uncrowded and unfussy.

Oatmeal

Two words. STEAK & EGGS. 'Nuff said. Sunny side up eggs were cooked to perfection. Mix those golden yolks with a bite of tender steak and biscuits and gravy and you're in heaven. Can't beat it for the price. Got our little one the oatmeal and it was a good sized portion along with all the fixins you might need to mix in. Will be back again soon.

Tortilla soup

Ordered some soup to go because I was feeling sick. Was very disappointed at the lack of chicken in my tortilla soup. Sad day. Not coming back.

Lipstick on cup

Called in to ask how long the wait was and told about 15 mins for a table of six. After more than half an hour of wait, we were put into two separate booths, when asked how much longer. Ordered breakfast with coffee, came with a cup with lipstick on it, asked to replace the cup was given a shabbier coffee spilled cup. It was replaced with a cleaner one. Definitely not for someone visiting with family.

I wouldn't recommend all Jim's, but this one is solid. We've been going to this location for a while for early and late breakfast; dine-in, and carryout. It's better than a Denny's or IHOP (IMO). The coffee here is good, and there are plenty of options on the menu for everyone's taste buds. They also have Senior options for anyone 55 and older. We often come here before out-of-town guests go off on a long road trip in the early morning, or to pick up a carryout order because we are craving a hearty breakfast at home, without all the work. The Chopped Steak Breakfast, Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast, and Texas Two-Step have been some of my favorites. ~TIP: If toast comes with the meal, you can substitute for a yummy pancake! Lastly, we recently noticed they installed partitions on some of the booths. They also had a sign on the door that they are closing a couple of hours early due to short staff, so make sure and check times.

Great place for breakfast. The pancakes are my favorite, I ordered the two deal came with two pancakes two eggs and two pieces of bacon. The coffee had great flavor. Our waitress was very kind and made sure we were severed quickly. We went early on a Saturday morning around 8 am and there was no wait time.

Food is so-so. A few of the servers (especially Juanita) are very rude. Maintenance and upkeep of the building is lacking.

After that, it took another 15 minutes before we were acknowledged for water. I ordered a juice which came some time later. The server eventually took our order and shared she didn't know if what we ordered was even available. After taking our order, several other tables arrived and our server failed to return to check on us. We also noticed another customer who arrived after us got served their meal promptly, but only after they went inside three separate times to very loudly complain. To be fair, that customer arrived with a chip on their shoulder. After over 30 minutes, the server finally retuned and told us they never entered our order and asked if we still wanted it. We stated we wanted to leave, but then she pressed us to pay for my drink order. I was surprised, but agreed to pay. She took my cash payment and rushed inside to check with her manager. She returned my cash and said I didn't have to pay, but never apologized. The only high point was that another staff member noticed how hot it was becoming and set up an umbrella, which definitely helped. This could have been just an off day, but I won't be returning.

It was popping when we got there, so we had about a 25 minute wait. It took them a little while to take our order, but once they did, the food was made and delivered in a timely manner. I, of course, got the cinnamon roll pancakes short stack, and they were absolutely divine. No need for butter or syrup, they were perfectly delicious as is, cinnamon swirl included?!? and icing glaze as well. Another favorite was the chile relleno omelette - the poblano pepper on top added some smokiness along with the steak, and the sour cream and cheese cooled it down. Bacon and canadian bacon on point. A solid breakfast spot! Don't miss out on the cinnamon roll pancakes! *Cinnamon Roll pancakes, short stack *Cowboy Breakfast: eggs, biscuits with country gravy, bacon *Chile Relleno Omelette: fajita steak, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, & cheese, topped with ranchero sauce, sour cream, green onion, feta cheese *Pancakes & Eggs: 2 cinnamon roll pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage *Sides: grilled ham, bacon, hash browns

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures because the experience was disappointing from the moment…read moreour food arrived. My husband and I had been trying to eat at Bobby's Southern Kitchen for at least 2-3 years. Every time we'd stopped before, the wait was around 2 1/2 hours, and since we were always passing through on our way home to Houston, we never had enough time to stay. This time, we planned our morning around finally getting to eat here. We had spent the weekend in San Antonio and were driving to Dallas before heading home, so we made a point of arriving shortly after opening (a little after 8:00 a.m.). There was no wait, we were seated immediately, and our waitress was wonderful. I wish I could remember her name because she was friendly, attentive, and did everything she could. Our food came out quickly, probably within 15 minutes, but that's where things went downhill. The food wasn't hot. Mine was warm enough to eat, but my husband's breakfast was actually cold. His hash browns were cold, his sausage patties were cold, and since he's someone who really enjoys his food served hot, it immediately ruined the meal for him. We let our waitress know, and she came back to take only the hash browns from his plate. That surprised us because most restaurants would prepare a fresh order rather than reheating part of the original meal. When the hash browns came back, they still weren't hot enough, so unfortunately they didn't solve the problem. For me, the food itself actually had good flavor. I ordered the sausage biscuit with soft scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and a side of grits. The biscuit was good, the eggs were cooked just the way I like them, and the grits were honestly one of the best parts of the meal. They were creamy, had a great consistency, and were well-seasoned with really good flavor. If everything had been served hotter, I honestly think I would have loved my breakfast. My husband ordered a simple breakfast with eggs over medium, toast, sausage patties, and hash browns. I don't necessarily think the food itself was bad I think serving it cold completely changed his experience. What makes this especially disappointing is that we arrived shortly after opening, so we expected everything to be fresh and piping hot. I honestly don't know what happened that morning, but after waiting years to finally try Bobby's, it just didn't live up to the anticipation. The service was excellent, the food had good flavor, and I truly wanted to love this place. I just can't overlook being served a breakfast that wasn't hot, especially first thing in the morning. I hope this was just an off day because I'd like to believe our experience wasn't the norm.

I'll admit the main reason for stopping here was this monster. It had popped up on my feed a few…read moretimes over the past year and immediately made my San Antonio list for the next time I was in town. The Morning Wrecker is basically all of my favorite breakfast foods stacked into one massive sandwich. A perfectly cooked chicken fried steak, crispy hashbrowns, and two over easy eggs sandwiched between a fluffy cat head sized biscuit before being smothered in savory sausage gravy and topped with shredded cheddar cheese. It's definitely a gluttonous meal, but I split it with my buddy and it was absolutely worth the calories and carbs. Every bite delivered exactly what I was hoping for. It's worth stopping by Bobbie's Southern Kitchen for the Morning Wrecker alone, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. The service was great and it has that bustling diner feel.
