Before heading back to NYC, I made a pit stop at Bubba's Fish Camp & Smokehouse, and it was the perfect final taste of the coast. The scale of this place is massive, but the scent of wood smoke makes it feel instantly welcoming. Located right across from Broadway at the Beach, it's a unique spot that nails both coastal seafood and high-quality, in-house BBQ. Since it was Ash Wednesday, we went the meatless route and ordered the fried catfish and their famous fried pickles. Both were stellar--crispy, fresh, and flavorful. Our server, Summer, was an absolute standout; true to her name, she was a total ray of sunshine and provided the kind of attentive service that makes a meal memorable. Visited here for dinner while on a short vacation. Hubby ordered flounder platter and I had their Piggy Smalls platter. The service was great. She kept checking on us even and offered her suggestions when we had questions about certain things on the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant is very casual and family friendly. Small groups to larger groups are welcomed. Large mounted TVs can be found by the bar and throughout and they offer a variety of viewing selections. We'll definitely return next time. read more

Amazing fresh and hot food! You would never think seafood & smokehouse as a great combination but it actually was great! If you're willing to wait an hour and a half for average food, this would be be the option. The wait time for a walk in was pretty average for a tourist area, around 50 minutes for a table of 5. Once we were seated, it took about 15 minutes for our waitress to come and ask about drinks and another 10 to get them. When we finally got the chance to order, the table ordered a side salad and fried pickles for our appetizers along with our entrees. We were then barely checked on for the next hour as we waited for at least the appetizers to arrive, being offered no explanation for it. Of course it was a busy night, but waiting an hour for subpar pickles and a salad is a bit much. The food thankfully arrived 15 minutes after we got our appetizers. Big dining room, food was excellent, service was a little slow but they had live music so it was a pleasant wait. I had the brisket platter and upgraded my sides to sweet potato casserole and corn pudding (both good). But also I think this might be the best brisket I've ever had. My family had a nice lunch at Bubba's. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated but we had a good size table for our party. They have a lunch menu with several good options. I had the smoked club with soup. The sandwich was good. It would have been better with a meat that they smoked instead of just regular cold cuts. The clam chowder was tasty and lighter than ones I have had before. My son loved his chicken tenders and fries. I got to try them and I thought they were excellent. Last night I went to dinner at Bubba's fish, camp and smokehouse with a bunch of friends. We all had wonderful service. The waitress came to our table all the time to make sure that we had all we needed and how our food was and if we needed more refreshments. The ambience was delightful, and the manager asked us afterwards our experience was. My food was delicious. I ordered the grilled mahi-mahi mini tacos, which were an appetizer, but they filled me up for a meal. I would definitely recommend this place for a large group of people. Absolutely horrible, we paid nearly $70 for a to go order. My husband's oyster plate consisted of a few little pieces of oysters and the rest oil soaked breading. His fried okra was way undercooked. My shrimp plate was saturated in oil and all hush puppies were full of grease. I think this crap was passed off to us because it was a to go order. They figure that a lot of people are tourists and eat there passing through. The company really needs to return our money because we had to throw away $70 of crap. Just a word to the wise...if placing a to go order, thoroughly check your order on the spot and make sure that you don't have ALL BREADING looks are definitely deceiving. read more

We were hopeful about this spot since we like the other Myrtle Beach chains owned by this restaurant. This one will be a "skip" for us in the future. Our server Jordan was super nice, but everyone else we encountered was cold and annoyed. 45 minute wait at 6;30 on a Saturday which is to be expected. But once we sat down we had an additional 35 minutes for appetizers and 45 minutes after that for food. Crazy long wait, we were incredibly irritated as others around us were getting their food and leaving when they sat down after us. We were there for almost 2 hours just to eat dinner. This is a pretty solid local "chain" spot. Good bbq and the seafood is prepared well. I loved my oyster poboy. The fried shrimp was tasty too and great creamy coleslaw. If you're there for dinner a photographer will try to take pictures of you and your party. If you're not put off by this type of thing it's fine. But it's a little much. Our server Danny was good and the food came out quickly. The restaurant is pretty kitschy with boats, sharks and big fish hanging from the ceiling, etc. They're open pretty late too which is nice. read more

First off we went for dinner and we had gift vouchers..both of us had the flounder platters that were WONDERFUL! Then we figured we would use up the rest and take home dinner for next night so we ordered the $40 "Pit Boss" dinner to share that came with fries, hush puppies, beans, coleslaw, ribs, smoked sausage, a chicken quarter, chopped brisket, pulled pork and sauces.. WELL we were so so disappointed in what was in the containers! Are you kidding?? Look at what we got.. Meat dish I added the 3 hush puppies I had left from my meal but that is all the meat? One sausage 4 small ribs, dried out skimpy chicken and dry tiny brisket? This was my 2nd visit and won't be my last. We stopped for lunch on our way out of town. We sat down right away, and the menu was huge, including a lunch menu addition. Our server was not the best (seemed nervous, quiet, and not attentive). Other than that, the food was tasty. Onion rings were colossal!!!!! Tasty. Slightly salty but good The grouper fingers weren't as crispy as requested. No one at our table was satisfied with the food tonight. The 2 starts were given only for our waitress. None of the replacements were done correctly (ex. Fries were supposed to be substituted for beans) My mother in law could not stomach the sausage she ordered. I guess this was our second and last visit. Not to mention before leaving I asked another server for to go lids and she said she was "too busy" and I would have to wait. I came in for lunch on a weekday afternoon, just after opening. I was seated at a booth parallel to the bar and the bartender was my server. I appreciated that they weren't lazy in the sense that they walked to my table instead of shouting over the bar (happens a lot with me). I had the clam chowder to start. It was very different, but good and chock full of clams. It reminded me a lot of Tony's clam chowder, if you've had it. I had the brisket grilled cheese. It was fantastic and filling. The bread was toasted perfectly and didn't get soggy. I don't eat brisket but it was tender and smoky. The sauces complimented the brisket perfectly. The sandwich was rather messy but I enjoyed eating it. The bartender/server was new and let me know but wasn't obnoxious about it. They had a few questions to clarify which was great to ensure I got what I ordered. In fact, I was tempted by them to pick what I ordered. It was slow and they made nice chit chat and overall was a very wonderful experience. I plan on coming back or visiting one of their sister restaurants in the future. read more
