Saw a fb post for their Friday fish fry and decided to try it. First is the Facebook Pic and then the dinner we received. It was pretty close! The dish looked fantastic and the service was fast. The coleslaw was really good. The hush puppies were $7 for a serving. (6 pieces), but these had no flavor at all, we only needed to try 1 each and left the rest. The fish was beautiful, but again, just no flavor- what a bummer. It was too good to be true that a burger place could have good fish, but we tried. Other than the sandwhich, the restaurant sounded like Chuckie cheese- it was so noisy w kids screeching and running around unattended I couldn't believe it. We drove out from the city to eat and listen to great music (band was awesome). Second time here. We got there a few min after 8 and a lovely lady greeted us and sat us ....20 min later no one created us - brought us water - nothing. That's same lovely lady that sat us came around and I asked if we had a waitress ... she went to find her and then came back to tell us our waitress forgot about us. We finally order .. drinks come out - all good - cheese logs ( those are good).. but our chicken sandwich - not what we ordered at all! She apologized and took the burger and about 10 min later the correct one came. Finished eating - Wanted to cash out and leave and our waitress was MIA. Overall .. food is good -- but service was way off tonight! Love love love the band though. read more

A double tasted just like a single as I ordered a Kettle One and soda. My friend ordered a vodka and cranberry. Same thing. They charged you an extra $0.50 for cranberry juice too. The service was okay as they were very busy so we did have to wait on our drinks but the waitress was very pleasant. The food was adequate as we ordered pasta and sandwiches. The ambiance was fine but nothing elaborate as we expected. There are much better restaurants in that Southpointe area depending on what you want to spend. Hovering between 3 and 3.5 stars for me. Bubba's is a no-fuss bar/restaurant located adjacent to a hockey rink. You can actually see the hockey rink from your seats which I thought was interesting! The best part of our experience here was the service. The hostess who sat us and retrieved a high chair for us was nice enough to wipe it down thoroughly before we used it, which l appreciated. I wish l remembered our waitresses' name because she was truly the sweetest. She gave me a cider recommendation that was delish. She was attentive, pleasant and overall made our quick dinner very enjoyable. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered their "famous"mozzarella sticks. These things were HUGE and very good. The batter they use was delish! The huge portion would easily satisfy a table of 4 for an appetizer. My husband had the Pittsburgh wrap and said it was "okay" and nothing stood out to him, but it wasn't bad by any means. We were there at 5:30 on a Saturday night and the place was not very busy. Best bar food we've had around the Southpointe area. The food was definitely fresh and made on site. Not frozen like so many other places. Love the ability to watch what's going on down on the ice, watch a game on tv or listen to the band. Service was a bit slow (that was due to staffing from what we could tell) but very friendly. We came to Canonsburg for a 4 day visit and found Bubba's on Yelp--great reviews so we wanted to try it. It's a sports bar built overlooking a hockey rink so if you like you can sit at one of the long tables facing the rink and enjoy the games. There are also plenty of widescreen TVs in the dining areas as well as around the huge bar for sports fans to enjoy their favorite teams playing. The staff were very friendly, efficient, and attentive. I appreciated how the waits looked out for each other's customers to make certain drinks were kept full and other needs quickly met. The rink next door hosts junior league teams (elementary school ages), junior high, and high school ages too. Before games the teams can have a group meal in a separate area. Bubbas works hard to be family friendly and any given night you will see plenty of families having a good time. The food is great--generous portions and very reasonable prices. I had one of the burgers and my wife had the steak salad--photos do not do the amazing food justice. They have happy hours during the week and drink specials on weekends. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we came back the last night of our stay for supper again. Anytime we visit Canonsburg we will be certain to visit Bubbas. read more

I went with family of 4 including me it took 20 minutes to get seated and the person who was seating us was insanely rude. Not to mention the food wasn't good either. The food also took another 40 minutes to actually come and it was literally all pink and I asked go no pink I love bubba but his restaurant is not good at all. The environment was ok. I keep hearing that I have to come out this way because I do love a great burger but I live in the North Hills so I'm very seldom out in this area. We finally just decided to make the drive out here just to come to Bubbas. I had no idea it was connected to a hockey arena. How cute ! We ordered the infamous mozzarella sticks appetizer and they did live up to the hype. They were the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had! Huge and the batter was amazing. Now on to the burgers. They were good but not great. I ordered the fresh burger that has fresh, mozzarella and basil on it, and it arrived with a small piece of mozzarella and one small leaf of basil. I literally had those two in one bite in the middle, and the rest of the burger was just plain. Husband ordered the Nola Burger and he said it was just OK. The fries were super salty. I'll come back for the mozzarella sticks and maybe try a different entrée besides the burgers. read more

Posting a side by side of the Smash Burgher on the menu and the Smash Burgher I got... which was basically just a normal burger with way too much seasoning. We stopped in for lunch. The server was right on us considering she was the only one working the bar and tables at lunch. We ordered our meals off of the lunch menu. I specifically asked if fries came with the sandwich and she said yes. Not too long our food came out. She handed it to me and said she was wrong fries were not included but she could place an order if I wanted. She also said that the cook told her that he didn't have a main ingredient for my wrap. So instead of telling me this before it was made without the main ingredient, they made it and brought it out in hopes that I would just eat it. I picked it up and it was dripping from either oil or grease. The wrap was soggy. It was inedible. So I sat while the other person in our party ate. By the time she made it back it was too late to order anything else. I had to get back to work. So no fries and an inedible wrap. Left without having anything to eat. My son and I stopped into eat tonight at the SouthPointe location. We waited at the host desk behind another lady for close to 10 minutes before a host even showed up to seat us as well as another customer. Certainly wasn't busy. Our waitress did come out quick to get drinks and take our order. My son ordered a Bubbah Burger with only bacon and lettuce. I ordered a Bubbah Burger with only lettuce, extra onions and ketchup. About 20 minutes later we got our food, with no offer to refill my son's empty drink. His burger was correct and delicious, he said. Mine had what looked like 3 eggs on it that was bigger than the bun. Turns out it was cheese. I asked the waitress to take it back, as I don't eat cheese. Even if it did, it shouldn't have looked like it did. She kinda got an attitude and told me the bubba burgers come with cheese. That's all fine and dandy, but when I order it with nothing on it and only lettuce, onions and ketchup, that should be pretty clear. No cheese was mentioned. She once again explained it came with cheese..I pointed out my son ordered the same way and it didn't come with cheese. So the mistake was not me, or it would've come with cheese also. I told her she could take it back, and with no apology she disappeared with it . About 5 minutes later she comes back and from a table or so away clarifies what I wanted on my burger. She did offer to get another one, I explained at that time my son was half finished with his, and I didnt want to wait another 20 minutes for another. She said she could have it in minutes, asked her in 5 minutes, she said she would try. Told her nevermind as I knew it would be another wait, and she walked off , once again no refills. We then sat there finished, empty drinks for at least another 15 minutes before we just got up and walked up to leave. We had to have the host who was now there get our waitress. She printed the bill, no apology or anything. Granted we paid for the drinks and his burger only, but this is horrible service. We do like the place, but this seems to be the normal treatment here. Not all the waitresses are like this, hell at the table next to us the waitress showed up a total of 6 times in the 15 minutes when we finished and was waiting for a drink refill and our check, Our server on our check is listed as Erika S, check #39 on 4-15-25. i would like our bill to be refunded for this horrible service. Went as soon as they opened on a Sunday. Service was prompt and friendly (Roxie I think was her name). The appetizer pretzel was AH-MA-ZING. Unsure how a pretzel could be so good. The nachos were only okay. Was excited to have them spread out as it said it was on a pizza pan but then they came in a bowl. Needless to say there was no spreading out of the toppings and they were basically all piles on top. Will be back for dinner sometime. read more

Went last night to watch a hockey game, Roxy behind the bar was so rude and acted like we were annoying her every time we asked for something. She said she had been there all day, maybe not the best idea. She needs a reality check. I'm over being treated this way. 2nd time here. Plenty of parking and great views above the ice watching youth hockey. We came this past Saturday night. I'll hit on the food first. Ordered as an appetizer Buffalo chicken dip that came with pita bread and tortilla chips. Everything here was excellent and plenty flavorful 10/10. I ordered the Nawlins burger which had Cajun spices, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and I believe a sauce. Fries were freshly cut and I enjoyed it. 8.5/10. My daughter got the bacon ranch with no tomato or lettuce and asked for well done. Unfortunately, her burger had pink in the middle and was loaded with lettuce and tomato. Was easy to scrape off, but the pink and chewy/fatty bacon were not good. I wanted to send it back, but it was late and we had a long drive back so my daughter opted on having to wait 20 min for a new burger. 1/10. Service: Hostess was a young teenage female that seemed to be annoyed we walked in; had a bad attitude and never smiled once. Waitress was ok, but didn't refill our drinks and didn't check my daughter's order before bringing it out. I think it was because she didn't write anything down. 3.5/10. Overall between the atmosphere, appetizer, and fries it was good enough to get a 3 rating, but there's lots of room for improvement here. Will hope it's better during our next visit. When I walked into the bar, I immediately knew I wanted to come back. The environment is so cool. It overlooks the hockey rink so you can have a couple drinks and watch the game if there is one going one. For it being the middle of the day on a Saturday, there were a pretty good amount of people there and they all seemed to be having a really good time. The music that was playing also helped the scene because it made you just want to relax and drink and watch sports. Their menu is clearly not healthy and they make it pretty well known that it's not. But that doesn't take away from the large amounts of good food they have. All their apps are great game day food. Anything you could want at a sports bar. Their salads are pretty big too. I got the chopped salad and while it wasn't quite the right amount of chopped I was expecting, it tastes pretty good. I was hoping it would have more chicken and just a little more flavor. Their main thing are the burgers. Massive burgers stacked high with a ton of unhealthy ingredients. I got the bacon ranch burger and it tasted pretty good. Not up the the standards I had from what their menu said, but I would get it again. They have so many different options though. I need to go back and try more. This bar is a great place to enjoy happy hour on a week night or hang out at for dinner and drinks on a weekend. I really hope to come back soon. read more

Honestly not all that busy but the place is staffed minimally. I'm almost certain the bartenders 8ish year old son was helping clear tables and asked several people if they were here for a to go order. This is the second time I have ordered take out. Both times I arrived 5 minutes early for when I was told it would be ready, and still waited almost 45 minutes for a salad and a wrap. I went here for lunch one day with a group of co workers and we waited almost AN HOUR for appetizers. Then, another half hour for our burgers. Our server wasn't very friendly, our table wasn't large enough for the group we had and they were not accommodating as to find us another to add. Also, the bathrooms were filthy. We visited Bubba's for our first restaurant meal out since COVID began- we wanted to support a small business. We haven't been here before and had visited their former location in South Fayette years ago. It is a very big space, so relatively easy for them to have tables spread out. I'm am trying to have grace with everyone as they navigate reopening businesses, but will provide honest observations about how they are handling things. That information may be quite important to some people. First I will review the food. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer- they are huge! Beer battered and come with six large pieces. They were delicious. The sauce for dipping was pretty chunky and there wasn't really enough for six huge sticks. It was warm, though, which was nice. We each ordered burgers. I had the burger with bbq, pepper jack, onion straws, etc. I ordered it medium, and unfortunately it was well done. While it wasn't totally dried out, it's disappointing that the focus of the restaurant isn't cooked appropriately. The toppings were plentiful and tasty. I had the fries that were a little soggy and not crisp, but tasty. Some of my other family members wanted sweet potato fries but they were out, so they got tater tots. These were delightful- crisp on the outside and creamy warm potato on the inside. As for COVID related observations- there was hand sanitizer in several places, but I did not see any staff use them- even the one right next to the point of sale. Groups came in without masks and were sat. Staff ranges from full mask usage, to pulled down to the chin, to not covering the nose. Our server kept taking hers off and on and in doing so touched her face. That made me uncomfortable because it was so frequent. Condiments were served in little disposable cups, including salt and pepper. It was slow so I couldn't observe what was done to clean a table. They did not use disposable menus and I did not see them get sanitizer after we gave them back. Again, I am trying to have grace as businesses figure this out, but these observations may be very important to some potential patrons. read more

This is a new location for Bubba's. Was advised it was still a soft opening. This use to be another restaurant and bar connected to the ice area at Southpointe. The place is large and just a few people having lunch. Probably a good spot to watch your kids and friends playing hockey and have a cold one. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and on top of refills. Could see one of the waitress' being trained on the computer ordering system. The menu has Fresh Salads, Starters and Fresh Burgers that are a blend of different meats ground fresh daily. Even without a hangover decided to try the Hangover Part V Cure Burger. It was cooked perfectly to my medium request and come with Bacon, Ham, Egg and Mayo. A really good burger. You get a rather large side of half sweet and half regular fries. read more

It was a new burger, a special this week that is a burger with jalapenos, candied bacon and bbq sauce, it was so so good. Get yourself over there and have that yummy burger! The staff is so friendly.
