It's very difficult to find a place that has lactose free milk tea in Chinatown (well actually much of Houston) and this place in the Energy Corridor DOES have it ( approx. 65% of the population is lactose intolerant and doesn't even know it)! Yea, you got a $5 min on plastic, but almost all of Chinatown is cash only so pick your battles! Came here on a Wednesday evening and the staff was friendly and let me know their sweetness level scale so you have a choice. I miss bubble tea in my home town of Atlanta. I really do. It's hard to find a good spot anymore, much less one with a variety of flavors. Figured in Texas it would be even more difficult to find, so when I spied this place while waiting to meet up with someone in the shopping center parking lot, I bolted for the door. Bubble tea? YES. What I found was an incredible number of flavors to choose from, though I kept to my love and went with Taro. Even better: The sugar levels can be adjusted to your liking! Knowing taro is often sweeter anyway, I asked for less sugar. It was made just right and had enough sweetness to be refreshing without giving you a sugar rush. Yum! For three bubble teas, it came to just over $12 including tax. That seems about right compared to other places, and that's because we added the boba. You can get every flavor without the boba and save yourself a little extra cash (but why would you leave behind the boba?!). read more

Food is delicious and there's so many choices! Not only that, but service was absolutely wonderful. They noticed I didn't have egg pudding in my cup and they restarted to fix my order! Came here for the first time on a whim. I was a bit hesitant to order at first because I'm on a low-sugar diet. My favorite drink is a taro smoothie (no tapioca) so you can imagine my delight when I noticed that I could customize the sugar level in my drink. I set it to low, and was warned that it will be a little less flavor than normal. I didn't notice this, but then again I haven't had a taro smoothie since I started this diet! The rose cream tea was amazing as well. Amazing. I also took the liberty of trying their miso fried rice. Let me tell you--no regrets! A perfect late night snack to share, or a meal. It came with two spoons without me having to ask. It really hit the spot. The atmosphere is awesome, too, and they play great music. My only complaints are that 1 the TV is way, way too loud for my tastes and situated right above the couch (it's all you can hear when you're sitting on the couch) and 2 the upholstery of the couch and other orange furniture is quite dirty. Definitely will be back--I just wish the TV were on mute! Was going to rate 3 stars, but the customizable sugar level easily bumped it up to 4. This place's downfall is probably their banh mi sandwiches. Compared to other banh mi sandwich places around the area, their sandwich is probably the cheapest at $3.50 but you get what you pay for. So I've been wanting to try this place for a while. The good: the pork egg rolls are delicious. The okay: the milk tea was just okay. Nothing to write home about. The bad: the fish cakes were absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure what type of fish it was but it was worse than fish sticks. Stay clear. One other thing I must mention is the girl who checked me out wore gloves. The bad thing about it was she ran her hands through he hair, scratched her face, and touched her shoe with the gloves on. The closest bubble tea house my friend and I could find without going to Chinatown. With that said, our standards have been set pretty high by the boba in Chinatown. The bubble tea from here is pretty good, but the flavors all taste the same after a while. Maybe it's because they add too much cream. Still, we enjoyed a refreshing drink after lunch. The quality of the tapioca is good- chewy and fun to eat! We would come by here again because of the convenience. The people working here are very friendly and nice. We weren't sure what "cream" in Cream Tea was but it seems to be the equivalent of Milk Tea. If you check in on yelp, you get a free 4th bubble tea with a purchase of 3! I just had the same issue with whom everyone was talking about. The first time I ordered was from two ladies working behind the counter and had no problems. Today it was this one employee working by himself who seemed nice but was confused by my order. I ordered "Rose Black Tea with Cream," which the lady I ordered from understood right away. However, today when I ordered, I made sure to repeat myself a couple times just to make sure he heard "with cream." The order came out just Rose Black Tea. I told him that he got my order wrong, and he said I ordered a different item. He said that what I wanted is called Rose Cream Tea. Basically, he knew what I wanted but made a different item just to make a point. He remade my drink but wouldn't stop telling me what to say "the next time." This review is long overdue. Their rose oolong tea and popcorn chicken are amazing. Takoyaki is good too, as are any of their bubble teas and juices. They once had a taro matcha drink and I loved that; I wish they'd offer it again. Haven't really had anything from here that I didn't like and their service is always 10/10 as well. read more

My experience here was great! I ordered a Mango-Blueberry-Pineapple smoothie, Peppermint Cream Tea, and chicken wings. I absolutely loved everything, most importantly the customer service. I announced that it was my first time being in the tea shop. The employee took her time explaining the menu with a smile. She didn't rush me she gave me the opportunity to order what I like best. I was in love with the decor as soon as I walked into the tea shop, very impressed with how much seating was available.
