My happy place! Luna Matcha with taro pudding and aloe vera.

Bubble U has relocated! So happy for them for expanding and for this much more convenient location. The original owners are here now with the og Chinatown location managed under someone else. The owner was so nice and patient, answering all of my questions as i had my senior moment, forgetting what i used to order. Heads up, their tea drinks have a strong level of caffeine so if you'd like to opt out, be sure to let them know. I ordered the Peach Tree without caffeine, mild sweetness, with their unmatched sea salt cream topping, and added their homemade brown sugar mochi! Love that i can get my mochi jelly fix here too, and not have to always go to torotea. The interior at this place is more relaxed and roomier than the Chinatown location too, which is another bonus. I was alone but as I stepped out and took my first sip the words just slipped out of my mouth, "that is so good." I mean all the ingredients are so high quality here, the peach drink is made from an actual whole peach blended up and the foam topping is uber creamy. They still claim their rank in my top all-time fave boba spots. And they also sell a handful of Japanese snacks!

I enjoyed my Thai tea here a lot. The tea tasted fresh and like it's brewed daily. It also had a potent tea taste versus being watered down and tasteless. The service was friendly and fast, and I particularly liked the ability to order on a kiosk at the counter. The store is spacious with plenty of seating and very clean. Definitely would return again when we're in downtown LA.

I visited Bubble U for a second time during Christmas Eve and enjoyed the honey milk tea ($5.49). As expected, the drink tasted delicious because I ordered my favorite flavor for iced tea. However, they charge extra if you don't want to put in any ice. They had a holiday-themed boba cup and a reusable bag to hold the drink on the way back. I'll try to bring the bag back on my next visit even though it has a holiday theme. Last time I visited, they had Lunar New Year designs on their cups, so I can appreciate the thought put into their products. Unfortunately, their website says that this store will close on April 30, 2025. It was a pleasure visiting this boba shop, and it'll be missed.

The good: We ordered a caramelized pineapple green tea and avocado coconut mango drink with 25% sweetness for both. The level of sweetness was great in each. The avocado part of the drink was creamy. The charred pineapple slice on top of the drink was tasty and visually cool. The bad: They had two self-ordering tablets but only one was working. There's no outdoor dining. There's a machine inside (maybe a cotton Candy machine?) that's out of order. I couldn't taste the coconut in my drink (maybe it was coconut water?). The interesting: It's an extra 30 cents to get your drink with no ice.

Drinks: 4/5 Good flavor, sweet/tart/refreshing. Nice portion, drinks are highly customizable. Service: 3/5 Machine orders, not much a service location. Ambiance: 4/5 Clean, nice decoration, and decent spacing.

No egg pudding! Google said this store had it so I'm sad about that. There's not a lot of street parking bc of how busy the area is. The staff was very helpful. The inside is very cozy and aesthetically appealing. Pistachio honeydew melon milk tea was delicious.

Self service and very clean. The worker was kind when handing us our drink. The drinks themselves were on the pricier side (~7/8$) however, I will say it was some of the best boba I have ever had. The taste of the mango matcha was amazing and surprisingly neither overpowered the other. The tapioca itself was fresh and great texture. The grape slush drink was amazing and mouth water. I am wishing I had both as I write this review but sadly I live in Orange County so it's not very realistic for me to go to LA specifically for this shop haha. If you're near I couldn't recommend more that you go.

Uji Matcha Milk Tea (Left), Strawberry Paradise Smoothie (Middle), and Taro Milk Tea (Right)

Cute little hole in the wall boba cafe! I got the Uji Matcha Milk Tea while my family got the Strawberry Paradise Smoothie and the Taro Milk Tea. The Uji Matcha Milk Tea is great, nothing special about it. The Strawberry Paradise Smoothie is very creamy, it tastes like Nesquik Strawberry Milk. The Taro Milk Tea is also good, but it just tastes like your average taro milk tea. The drinks also come in this harder plastic which I like! The cafe is small, but it's very cute and clean. There's two kiosks to order from, and you can also order with an employee. There's also a cotton candy machine near the register. The decor is cute, simple but nice. There's plenty of seating, but the cafe can get full fast. People are constantly going in and out of the cafe so I'm unsure if there's air conditioning, but if there is, you won't feel it with the opening doors and body heat. I would come here again! I didn't notice they had sold ramen when I went there, but now I'm very intrigued. There's also plenty of drink options so you're bound to find something you like.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The service was fast. The drink came out perfect- it was exactly what I ordered. Banana matcha with brown sugar mochi was amazing.

Haven't been here in over 5 years and the tea is still the same! We got the rose milk tea and white peach oolong tea. I like to order my teas with less sugar because I like the strong tea flavor and you definitely taste the good quality tea in their drinks. They upgraded to kiosk ordering and its card only.

    Matcha banana milk tea

You wouldn't expect a milk tea shop in this part of downtown Los Angeles , but Bubble U is a hidden gem! Walking in, I was greeted by the staff member, with a digital display available to order. I decided to get the matcha banana milk tea and a Thai milk tea, both at regular sugar. The matcha banana milk tea was so good! I loved the balance between the matcha and banana flavor, with the organic milk also being tasted. The Thai milk tea was also good, though the Thai tea flavor was more subtle. I find that to be a positive when a lot of tea shops cheap out with cheap Thai instant tea powder. Instead, you taste the quality of the Thai tea here! Prices are good, especially considering the high quality of ingredients! No cheap non-dairy creamers or powders like in some milk tea shops! If I am in the downtown Los Angeles area, I will definitely be getting more drinks at Bubble U!!

Black Sugar Milk Tea and Luna Matcha

A cute boba place in Chinatown! I ordered in the kiosk and my drinks came out relatively quick after that. I got the Luna Matcha and it came with a cutie little dragon art on top of the sea salt foam! I also got the Black Sugar Fresh Milk. Both drinks were so good and perfect for my boba craving. The matcha they use is uji matcha from Japan and you can really tell the quality of matcha is high! The customer service is excellent as well! I was struggling with putting my straw in and the employee saw and kindly assisted me! Would def return if ever in the area!

    Ceylon milk tea with boba
    alexandra k.

I was a bit confused when I walked in because there is a boba drink-making machine on one of the counters by the front but also a tablet to place orders, and no workers visible, and no bell for service! I ended up pulling back the half curtain and shouting loudly to the back a couple of times before I got someone's attention to ask questions. I was disappointed that they didn't have any oolong tea offerings since that's my go-to order, but I spoke with one of the workers who said they were pulled all of their oolong based drinks because the tea leaf quality from their distributor was not up to their standard. I ended up ordering a Ceylon milk tea with boba at 75% sweet, which was still a bit sweet for me. Their boba texture was softer than I liked and was notably smaller in size, although the drink to boba ratio was good! The Ceylon tea also didn't shine through for me.

    Nope. No dairy

What coffee drink would you recommend that isn't too sweet?

Most drinks can adjust the sweetness. We highly recommend the Sea Salt Coffee. Sugar level options: 25%, 50%, 75%, regular or no sugar.

Is there outdoor seating during Covid times?

Dear customer, There are public facilities to sit outside.

Which one is their regular milk tea?

Signature black. I get it with extra creamy milk, which I believe is just Strauss barista milk, which all the good coffee shops use to make lattes. it's the best in town guaranteed. Only other place that comes close is miss cheese.

Do they sell red bean smoothies?

No, only taro, oreo cookie, matcha, thai tea, mango, strawberry banana, and coconut pineapple smoothie.

Do they still have the pikachu carrier?

    Yes

    Is the rose matcha vegan?

Rose Matcha could be vegan if substitutes with almond/soy/oat milk.

Are the bubble teas gluten free? Can the Taro be made gluten and dairy free?

We will have a natural strawberry milk tea coming out Around April. We use fresh natural strawberry and no syrup. Highly recommended!

It's such a fun twist on the typical matcha coconut drink, and I have to give Damo their flowers for creating something that feels unique. The Matcha Einspanner wasn't particularly stand-out compared to some of the other cafes in K-Town, but it was still a well-balanced drink with a nice mix of bitterness, sweetness, and creaminess. I tried the Cloud Latte and found it a bit too thick, lacking the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the Cinnamon Cloud, which was smoother but still tasted fairly bitter to me. The pop-up is easy to find, it's outside facing into the parking lot, and they had a cute A-frame sign out by the street side. There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! We came by Sunday morning to check out Rny coffee studio. It's a very cute and cozy coffee shop and there was no line when we arrived. The menu had a huge selection of different coffee and tea drinks and also a seasonal menu. The staff were very kind and patient and swiftly prepared the Vienna Latte and Hojicha Latte we ordered. The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

I stopped by Archives of Us and decided to branch out from my usual order and try a good variety of…read moretheir menu. I ordered the Orange Mint Latte, Matcha Sparkling Lemonade, Einspanner White, Hibiscus Mint Sparkling Lemonade, and of course, a cortado. I also tried their Wagyu Sliders. Every drink was fantastic. What I really enjoyed was how different each one was from the next. It didn't feel like I was ordering variations of the same drink -- each had its own flavor profile, presentation, and unique touch. The Orange Mint Latte was especially interesting, and both sparkling lemonades were refreshing and completely different from what I would normally order. The Einspanner White was another standout. Overall, it was a really fun variety to try at once. The cortado was also very good. It had a nice flavor, smooth texture, and was easy to drink. Their approach is a little different from a traditional cortado presentation because the espresso and milk are fully integrated together rather than finished with latte art. I actually appreciate that style when it's executed well because the focus is more on getting the espresso and milk completely incorporated into one cohesive drink. The presentation across the entire order was also really well done. You can tell there's thought behind how everything is served and put together, which adds to the overall experience. The Wagyu Sliders were great as well. I think the food side of Archives of Us deserves more attention because they have some genuinely good food options to go along with the drinks rather than the food feeling like an afterthought. The space itself is beautifully designed with plenty of seating inside as well as an outdoor seating area. I love the overall atmosphere and aesthetic -- there are certain details about the design, presentation, and experience that remind me of coffee shops I've visited in Japan. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Overall, Archives of Us has a lot going for it. A beautiful space, great service, thoughtful presentation, a strong variety of drinks, solid coffee, and food worth trying as well. It's especially nice to find a coffee shop where I actually want to explore the menu beyond my usual cortado. Definitely the type of place I could see myself coming back to once a week.

The shop itself has a really cool aesthetic and a lot of seating for working. However, the parking has one of the strongest and most disgusting urine smells that I have experienced in LA. So bad it ruins your appetite . To top it off you only get 30 min of free parking and I paid ALMOST $40 FOR ONLY 3 ITEMS that I couldn't even finish from how bad they were. Here is my review of each item: Eispanner Matcha: 3/10, really high astringency, indicative of low quality matcha and cream matcha was too runny. Vanilla latte: 8/10 great taste but they charge you for a latte and give you a cup almost as small as that of an espresso which was really annoying. I don't mind if it's small but at least charge accordingly. Avocado toast: 1/10 was sweet for some odd reason and the avocado was already turning black when I received it . Took two bites and had to throw it away. Definitely would not get again.

The outdoor seating area was spacious and parking was easy. It was a good place to hang out with a friend. They also have bakery items. It's a nice place if you're looking for coffee and something to eat.

[Parking]: The coffee shop has a free designated parking lot which I actually appreciate since parking is not easy to come by in this part of the neighborhood. [Amenities & atmosphere]: The restroom is located just outside the entrance and no code is needed. The cafe has a modern and sleek interior which makes this spot an ideal 1st date spot. There is a section where the cafe has various albums hanging on the wall. [Menu]: Some of the highlighted items to order here are Mason Latte, Hojicha Latte, and Brisket Burrito. Kitchen items are served from 8:30 AM to 4 PM. *** Steak Breakfast Burrito (24-hour marinated steak, crispy tots, cheddar, pico de gallo, scrambled eggs, avocado, homemade aioli, served with housemade green aji or red salsa - $21.00): I was given a buzzer only to realize it was for the food order and not the drink. The green sauce was very vinegary with a slightly spicy kick. The burrito itself was not bad as it had all the right ingredients. It took about 10 minutes for the kitchen to prepare this order. Mason Latte (Double shot Espresso, whole milk, homemade brown butter caramel, sea salt - iced $7.75): This drink had to be mixed and shaken first. A solid latte and not too sweet. The flavor was a tad light, but not bad. *** While no food or drink in particular made this place stand out among all other amazing coffee shops in Los Angeles, this is still a solid all-around coffee shop in my book. A big thumbs up on good interior vibe and easy parking.
