When you want to Expand your drink-awareness-footprint in LA, here's a star to add to your portfolio. Bubble U has an easy to order set up, use a kiosk to order or at the window (I received my drink in under 5 min when the shop was busy). Best part always is the taste test for a 1st time : smooth, rich texture, real fruit blended to tea-satisfaction! Thank you, Bubble U :) im a believer :)

I have been coming here for a few years and I have always gotten delicious drinks. There are a few stations where you place your order. A lot of their drinks can be modified so if you want something to be less sweet or if you want more of something, you can designate there. At the end of the process, you enter you phone number in case they need to send you a text. There are ample seats inside so you can take a quick break. It is air-conditioned and not other sounds coming from a radio or TV. It's just the sounds of the people working. The customer service is focused on getting drinks out and correctly. They are friendly and they will answer any questions you have but for the most part, this is when you see staff- when you pick up your drinks. Currently, i love the strawberry matcha and the grapefruit tea.

This is not good. Not creamy English and the tea is bitter. I ordered a house milk tea with oak milk. It's my usual pretty much anywhere I go. Either with Oak or Soy, but many places use cream instead. Don't drink anything else. I was passing by Chinatown, it's pretty much the only real milk tea place around. It's also not my 1st time here. It needs more oak milk to smoothing the tea. You can tell when the tea is not white enough. I usually don't get it from this area, mostly in the San Gabriel valley. Hopefully next time will be better

First time at Bubble U and it did not the disappoint. The shop is clean and spacious. We ordered our drinks at an iPad kiosk and waited for the staff to make them. I got the Golden Hawaiian fruit tea and also tried some of the melon slush (with Pikachu on the foam). Both drinks were solid and delicious. The quality of the foam art, tea flavor, and ingredients were definitely better than other places. No complaints! I would come back to try other specialty items.

I tried their Lychee flavored iced tea and Maple Island grapefruit drink. If your drink needs adjustment, the staff is happy to help adjust the sweetness. I recommend the lychee iced tea over the maple island. Order from the tablets as you walk in.

There are only a couple of shops in Chinatown that sell boba and Bubble U is my favorite. Their drinks have a natural flavor with quality ingredients and they appropriately make sweetness adjustments without diluting the flavor of the beverage. My favorite thing to order in the summer is the watermelon cooler/slush. I believe it's a seasonal offering and I can't wait to get it once summer comes around. It's like biting into a watermelon and perfect way to cool off on a hot day.

It's a bubble tea place. The price is what you'd expect, the options are numerous, and the quality is above average.

Great bubble tea spot! We stopped by after roaming around Chinatown. Service was fast and my mango slushee was super refreshing on a hot day.

This used to be my favorite boba store but the quality of the drinks went down after they changed ownership.

The best boba in LA! Originally established in Chinatown in 2016, Bubble U has made their move into DTLA's Fashion District. Don't worry! The drinks they serve are still the same superb quality you've received these last 8 years. Parking: If you were like me, you used to drive circles around Broadway St in Chinatown desperately looking for parking so that you could pick up your favorite boba drink. Well here at the new location, there's plenty of street metered parking and a nearby parking structure! Drinks: If you've been to the Chinatown location, you already know what to expect. QUALITEA. I always order the honey green tea here. The jasmine fragrance and green tea taste just reeks of high quality. The honey flavor is the perfect sweetness. Boba is chewy and sweet. Interior: It's a nice clean space with only a couple of tables and chairs but they are still working on it. There is, however, a restroom! Which the old location did not have. Woohoo! Note: They only have limited menu items right now but they're all good! So what are you waiting for? Come visit!

Had to try Bubble U Tea and went with a classic black tea--no disappointment at all! Smooth, refreshing, and just the right amount of flavor. Sometimes simple is best, and they nailed it. Service was fast for a weekend. Will definitely be back to try more!

they were quick in getting the order ready. The drink was good, i like how you can customize the ice and sweetness. The store is small and has one little table outside w two seats which is cute. You can only order online not in person although there are people working there making your drinks.(:

Hi does anyone know the store is really open at 8:30 am everyday? Thanks Nov. 06.2024

Yes, we are currently open daily at 8:30am. We recently tested a 6:00am opening time, but it seemed too early, as there were no customers during that period. We are now trialing the 8:30am opening to see how it works for this location.…

The barista explained that this was a known issue because the lids do not fit properly on the smaller cups, mentioning that management was aware. If this is a known problem, staff should either use an appropriate lid or warn customers before handing them the drink. It has now been a few weeks, and despite my attempts to reach the manager, I have not received a response. I would appreciate an explanation regarding the incident. I also hope this serves as an opportunity to train staff to take ownership of these situations and appropriately address customer concerns, rather than simply attributing the issue to management. As for the coffee itself, the cortado was much more like a latte. I would prefer significantly less milk so that the espresso flavor comes through more. Overall, the experience could have been handled much better.

I ordered the Orange Mint Latte, Matcha Sparkling Lemonade, Einspanner White, Hibiscus Mint Sparkling Lemonade, and of course, a cortado. I also tried their Wagyu Sliders. Every drink was fantastic. What I really enjoyed was how different each one was from the next. It didn't feel like I was ordering variations of the same drink -- each had its own flavor profile, presentation, and unique touch. The Orange Mint Latte was especially interesting, and both sparkling lemonades were refreshing and completely different from what I would normally order. The Einspanner White was another standout. Overall, it was a really fun variety to try at once. The cortado was also very good. It had a nice flavor, smooth texture, and was easy to drink. Their approach is a little different from a traditional cortado presentation because the espresso and milk are fully integrated together rather than finished with latte art. I actually appreciate that style when it's executed well because the focus is more on getting the espresso and milk completely incorporated into one cohesive drink. The presentation across the entire order was also really well done. You can tell there's thought behind how everything is served and put together, which adds to the overall experience. The Wagyu Sliders were great as well. I think the food side of Archives of Us deserves more attention because they have some genuinely good food options to go along with the drinks rather than the food feeling like an afterthought. The space itself is beautifully designed with plenty of seating inside as well as an outdoor seating area. I love the overall atmosphere and aesthetic -- there are certain details about the design, presentation, and experience that remind me of coffee shops I've visited in Japan. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Overall, Archives of Us has a lot going for it. A beautiful space, great service, thoughtful presentation, a strong variety of drinks, solid coffee, and food worth trying as well. It's especially nice to find a coffee shop where I actually want to explore the menu beyond my usual cortado. Definitely the type of place I could see myself coming back to once a week.

I personally like the egg salad one more since I am not a meat on meat person but the bacon wagyu slider is better. I would say this place is the better version of Community Goods and does not have as long of a wait. Note - kitchen food is not served until 9:30AM so if you're an early riser or trying to get in and out, you will be out of luck. The cream top does make it very creamy and it does mask majority of the matcha flavor. It did taste like a dessert drink. It was enjoyable though. COLD BREW VANILLA Weirdly sour and smoky flavored cold brew. Slight floral flavor too. It was such an odd combination of flavors with the vanilla cold foam. The lingering aftertaste was not good either. It's neither this nor that. Would not recommend! FINANCIERS Their financiers are made by a local bakery called Musk. It seems their financier flavors are changed often, so no same flavors are in rotation. Sausage & Parmesan - The almond cake's vanilla flavor with the sausage and salty parmesan was a unique flavor. The almond cake was nice and spongy. It did take a bit of time to get used to the savory flavors with the almond cake. It's like a breakfast in an unexpected way. Nutella - Buttery almond cake with nutella and roasted hazelnuts. Enjoyed it! I think Nutella fans would like it. Mugwort + Fig - Buttery in the beginning and it ends with a good, medium-strength flavor of mugwort. Fig was garnish on top, so you barely get it. However, I like that they added the sweetness of the figs with the earthy bitter mugwort. Overall, it was uniquely delicious and mugwort was the star. Yuza + Apricot - A tad sweeter than expected due to the outer brush of yuza aka yuzu simple syrup. Loved the chewy apricot on top. It really brought a lovely fruityness to the financier. The yuzu flavor was there alongside the butteryness of the almond cake. All the financiers were done well! Delicious! Recommend trying at least one when you're at this location. Not sure if their financiers are offered at their other locations. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. Not terribly friendly, but still answered my questions. Staff were all busy making the drinks. AMBIANCE + SEATS Really large space with rows of tables and chairs. It was strange walking in and seeing various tables and seats to one side and it almost looked like a cafe used as office space. Seeing all the people sitting down on their laptops or talking, as though they're having a casual business meeting there. It was just strange. The tables were mixed wooden tables and chairs. There were long benches too for people waiting for takeout orders. The large space felt so roomy, I get why the tables were all taken. PARKING Street parking is available, yet when I was there in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, it was packed! The only place to park was the paid parking lot right across from Damo. Parking was $5.00. I wouldn't recommend parking elsewhere outside of that street, as it is a sketchy area and lots of homeless encampments around the area. Would I return? Not sure. I like the large, roomy warehouse space with lots of tables to sit in, but the cafe being in a sketchy area gives me hesitation. Not in love with $5.00 parking too. One of my drinks was good, but the other was bad. The only thing I loved was the financiers.
