Ambiance is a very cute (and crowded) stall amid fun chaos of Central Market! Despite the rain, it was still pretty crowded. White Rabbit frappe tasted like melted high quality vanilla ice cream. It was very sweet but the melting ice was nice. Menu says it's a frappe but I'm not actually sure if there was any coffee. Yuzu Matcha tasted like yuzu matcha only a bit watered down/mellow for my preferences. Neither drinks were made with toppings but I think white rabbit frappe would be great with standard tapioca to help mellow out the sweetness, and the yuzu matcha would get that missing tang from citrus jellies. My friend Te-see and I found ourselves at Grand Central Market. It was a little early for dinner, so we just wanted something kind of quick and refreshing. She mentioned boba and we happened upon Moon Rabbit, so it was perfect! It's a quaint little stand in Grand Central Market. Kind of unassuming as I wouldn't have taken it for a boba place. They offer some food items as well that look yummy. I opted for the strawberry limeade jasmine tea with boba. It was incredibly tart, but refreshing. Conveniently located in Grand Central Market if you have a boba craving! I stopped by Saturday around 12pm and there was a short line in front of me. I did my research ahead of time and knew I wanted to order the white rabbit frappe ($7 with boba). If you want no ice, they will charge you an extra $1 (something that turns me off from boba places) so I asked for less ice but found the the ice amount to still be about 25% of the cup AND they only filled it to above half an inch below the rim. As for the taste, the drink was very creamy - I wouldn't say it tastes like white rabbit but rather some kind of sweet milk. The boba was nice and chewy as well, though rather sparse. For $7 in LA, I thought the prices were pretty generous but I do think the cup sizes are just normal - don't be fooled by the width (it's shorter in height than the normal boba cups). If I am ever craving boba after a meal at Grand Central, I think this will satisfy the cravings! Otherwise, drive to Little Tokyo for more options! read more

Was walking around and the chicken satay and coconut rice caught my eye. They have a combo for 20 dollars with drink that i felt was a pretty good value. The egg-roll add-on i feel for two dollars could be better. Do not recommend getting the egg-roll, it was super small and was not special. The satay chicken i feel could be a-lot more flavorful. It seemed to be lacking spice. The rice i also seemed to be missing the coconut. Seemed just like normal rice. I got the rose green tea. It was pretty good! I visit Grand Central Market a fair amount, but this was my first time trying Moon Rabbit, which I just found out is run by the same folks as the Thai place Sticky Rice just around the corner. Perhaps they share a kitchen? I was lured here by their DineLA special, a Thai BBQ chicken rice bowl with boba tea. That's pretty much what they offer: savory bowls and boba teas. My tea of choice was the brown sugar milk tea, which was fairly large and full of boba. I don't often order boba because I have a fear of accidentally aspirating one through the large straw, but these were luckily on the smaller side and went down the correct pipe (esophagus instead of lung). The tea was tasty and a decent-sized serving with the usual vacuum-sealed top that you punch your straw through to drink. The bowls are cooked to order, so the chicken took a while, but it too was tasty and nicely presented with some fresh greens, crispy shallots, radish slices and a sweet chili dipping sauce. This place is pretty cute the drinks are fragrant which I really enjoy and the ambiance is fun as well they are located in a busy plaza surrounded by food and other places and their boba shop definitely stands out because of the cups they have! I was in the area for work and wanted some boba. Several shops popped up, but this one had the cutest name and was closest within walking distance. This location is inside a vast food court near the middle, so it can be challenging to find, especially with how crowded the food court can be. Once located, though, you have to figure out who is in line and who isn't, as there really isn't a waiting area and people all hover by this shop. The menu isn't vast, rather it's fairly small compared to other shops, especially ones that offer boba. Additionally, the shop moves pretty fast in getting drinks and food out (which is a huge plus). The pork itself was moist juicy and super thick. I loved the thick fluffy and slightly sweet milk bread. Overall, It was a bit underwhelming. There wasn't enough breading for the katsu. So the breading to meat ratio was off. I wish the katsu was slightly more crispy. The pork katsu itself was not seasoned enough. I liked the sesame dressing on the sandwich. But so much of the dressing leaked from the bottom of my sandwich. There wasn't enough of the cabbage in the sandwich, especially compared to the photos they have on instagram. The katsu did not fit the entirety of the bread, so there was more than enough bread. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't get it again. Review for a drink and other factors besides food. Came for the Thai Soft Serve with Boba but they didn't serve it that day (Sunday). Was a bit disappointed and considered leaving but decided to snag a Strawberry Fresh Milk Boba for $6.57 before tip so I believe they charged me for added boba despite the $5.5 price point mentioning boba in the description. The cups are fat and wider which a few other spots have, but the usability is poor due to the difficulty fitting in cup holders. Also didn't get asked about adjusting sugar or ice so not even sure that's an option, but it's pretty much a standard at boba spots. Strawberry Fresh Milk Boba - strawberry puree and fresh milk shaken makes an obvious strawberry milk. It's tasty and refreshing without being overly sweet. Boba was whatever though, it's chewy but lacks flavor. I'd skip out on toppings especially if there's an additional charge despite being in the description. Hefty sandwiches for a fair price. First time at the Grand Central Market and we wandered around before deciding on this spot. It's located in the middle, across from Knead. Moon Rabbit serves boba, banh mi and katsu sandwiches and is by the same Sticky Rice founder! We ordered both the chicken and menchi katsu sandwiches to try on this visit. The price seemed a bit steep but honestly, given it's touristy location and the portion size, I think it was fair. Both sandwiches were good, but definitely eat it fast because the bread is soft and gets soggy. One order is definitely enough to split if you wanted to have a light meal or wanted to try something else from another spot. We decided to skip the boba this time. Menchi katsu sando: 4/5 stars This sandwich is super JUICY! We took this home to eat (15 minute walk) and there was a puddle of liquid at the bottom of the container from the meat. This was a bummer because there was no crunch from the katsu. Still, the meat was very tender and flavorful and I felt that the seasoning was perfect and wasn't too salty. My main complaint is that I wished the bread was toasted because it could not hold up to the juiciness of the ingredients and was falling apart as I ate it! Worth a try but I probably wouldn't get it again because it was super messy to eat and I felt like the soggy bun could be improved. Chicken Katsu sando: 4/5 stars This sandwich was still juicy, but more bearable than the menchi katsu sando. First time trying Moon Rabbit and I had no expectations. I usually pick out a black milk tea or thai tea with boba, but I decided to try the Sea Salt Coconut. It's a Jasmine Green tea with brown sugar, coconut milk, sea salt, and coconut cream. I added coconut jelly to it as well. It tasted way better than the photo looks. It was mildly sweet, not too sweet and I liked the jelly. I usually cut the sugar in my boba teas by half, but didn't need to here. It was a little pricy and even though the fat cups are cute, they're terrible if you want to stick it in a cup holder.
