Many thanks to Dave H's Yelp review turning me onto this delicious new pop-up matcha spot! Right now, they are popping up at Aloha Cafe which is in the Honda Plaza in Little Tokyo. So if you go early, you won't have any issue with parking as their is a dedicated parking lot. However, it does get busy and crowded as the day goes on~ LA is late risers! If you are going to the new Little Tokyo Farmers' Market on a Saturday morning, it'll work perfect to grab a drink here first. That's what I did! The matcha was truly so rich and creamy. Absolutely loved my drink! My friend had Hojicha and was really impressed with the initial hit of flavor. We both just loved our drinks! Plus my friend had a fun convo with the owner and he seemed like a cool dude. We'll absolutely be back for more of their tasty morning drinks~! Follow their IG to stay up to date with where they are currently popping up and the hours~! ig: kokoro.no.coffee

    Best Iced coffee!

Kokoro No Coffee is the best coffee in Little Tokyo hands down, very high-quality. I love the seasonal flavors so much, the service is amazing and friendly. Be sure to check the instagram for days that he is open!! @kokoro.no.coffee Check out this cute spot!

Best coffee Hojicha and Matcha in Los Angeles. Located in front of aloha cafe inside the Honda plaza. Gem of a coffee master who roasts his own beans daily and serves the best iced and hot coffee, tea, matcha, espresso, sencha and lattes ever! Support the smalls Asian owned business! Secret gem of a spot. Hot & new. Find him on instagram. He roasts his own macadamia nuts! Awesome matcha banana latte! Pop up saturdays at aloha cafe inside little Tokyo

Highly recommend Kokoro No Coffee! We ordered the kokoro latte and their seasonal Coffee Jelly. If you're into coffee and are looking for quality I would definitely try them out. One of the best Espresso drinks in LA!

A pop up shop in the Honda Plaza. I had the Kokoro latte. Lovely creation and just the right amount of sweetness. Thanks Curtis for a great experience.

    Owner/barista

This is an IYKYK kind of spot with talent and heart serving craft/great coffee without pretentiousness. It's a one man show so just don't go here if you're in a crazy rush. Have had cortados, americanos and the macadamia nut latte. So good! The owner and barista is sweet, welcoming and super knowledgeable about coffee and teas. So if you're near the arts or in Little Tokyo and it's open, it's definitely worth checking out.

    Peaceful mornings with Curtis

Curtis makes the most delicious coffee hands down. My latte was a cloudy treat from the heavens this morning while giving me the pep to the step I needed. He's the sweetest, kindest, most chill. We love Kokoro No Coffee! Will be back for sure, such good coffee from someone who cares and knows how to make it

You can also tell that a lot of care and thought went into designing this space. I'm obsessed with the blue tile and the perfectly coordinated retail wall. While I was here, I saw such a wide variety of customers, which I loved. You can tell everyone is welcome and that people genuinely feel comfortable spending time here. Lastly, I wanted to shout out the two employees working on 7/31 around 8:00 a.m ("BigVee" & a gentleman with longer hair who made my avocado toast) They were both so friendly and welcoming. It was early, so I would've understood if they were still waking up, but they were both bubbly, kind, and made my morning a little brighter. If a manager sees this, please let them know how amazing they are!

The main thing that stands out here is their 1987 coffee roaster which is the center piece of the cafe. They roast various single origin beans on a daily basis, so you know you can purchase some fresh coffee beans here. If you need your beans grounded, they do grind it for you depending on your brewing method. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2. Matcha with Sakura Cold Foam (4/5) The matcha was blended smoothly and was not grassy at all. The Sakura cold foam didn't really taste like Sakura (been to Japan, so know what real Sakura flavor should taste like), but instead, just tasted floral. 3. Columbia Supremo Whole Beans Full body and aromatic. Good for those who like to drink black coffee 4. Guatemala Huehuetenango Whole Beans: Crisp, acidic and a hint of nuttiness Glad I found this local roaster where I'll definitely be coming back to get some more fresh beans.

I noticed a lot of customers coming in specifically to grab beans, which honestly makes total sense once you're in there. If you're looking for beans or grounds, this is definitely your spot. If you're looking for a latte though, it's not the best. 3/5 if you're coming for a drink! If this review helped, a thumbs up is always appreciated

They have a few different series of matcha and that part is very fun here. I love how they explain all the information on each one and personally I liked the Hokatsu Series best which they say is nutty and creamy. I'm not going to pretend I could properly identify the nuances of all the different matchas but it made me feel fancy trying! In the non-matcha realm, the Madagascar Vanilla Latte is one of their most popular drinks so I had to try that. Also the Jacobsen's Salted Caramel was a seasonal special that sounded delish. I loved them both! The drinks are great, the staff is excellent, the parking is metered on the street so can be difficult. But whenever I can find a spot, I pop in!

Nearly $50 on drinks down the drain The coffee was extremely sour. Which means 1 of 2 things and an experienced barista should know... I understand they were busy and maybe the barista on duty wasn't paying attention to the quality, but it was (and truly no exaggeration) the worst coffee of my life. I'm saying plain Kroger's was better than whatever we had here. The matcha... now messing up matcha is an easy feat. However, it's a new experience for me to have a "green" matcha drink and for it to taste of no matcha and only oat milk HOW? Truly I'm asking. How does that happen? The most green drink, you'd think I'd be heavy on matcha and too bitter. No. That's not the taste you got at all. Straight milk. HOW? Overpriced and disgusting? Hard pass. I have never wanted to pull a "Karen" in my life until that moment. Because wtf. But I have issues with standing up for myself and my earned money, so I simply left rather than bringing it up to an employee. And I will say the lady who was at the cashier that day and took our order was friendly and sweet. I think she tried to warn us on what was actually good to order, clearly I did not heed.
