Buc-ee's was overwhelmingly crowded as expected at 1pm on a Sunday. Although lines were long, I was able to get in and out quick. Bathrooms were very clean. You can easily spend an hour or so in this store. They are inviting and welcoming to all their customers. There is a large variety of food, snacks, fountain drinks, bucee merch, and random items to purchase. It will most likely be busy because this place is always packed but it is part of the experience! With the amount of fountain drinks they have, i would have loved to see some more sugar free or diet options. The other thing we would have liked is a place to sit and eat. There are no tables, chairs, or any place to eat outside or inside. You are pretty much forced to eat in your car or on the sidewalk standing. That seems like simple fix! Being from Texas, we (typically) love our Buc-ee's. Unfortunately, the hype, the crowds and the prices of this tourist attraction-of-a gas station is more than I could handle. PLUS, we just visited the Wally's in St. Louis and we have to say, we liked it MORE. It was just TOOOOOOOO CRAZY BUSY HERE to be enjoyable. The country-western motif just seems old and dated. We feel like Buc-ee's needs a revamp. On the plus side, the bathrooms are plentiful and clean. The icee flavors were numerous and all worked. Eight flavors but 16 total!! Wow wow. Our local Buc-ee's has these icees for .89 and I believe these were $1.19??? All in all, still a solid gas station but take a Xanax before stopping by. read more

Great gas station with some really great food options. I've tried the beef in sandwiches and burritos and they don't mess around. There's also lots of iconic products that represent the best of Missouri. Definitely worth a stop even if you don't need gas. And the bathrooms, they are as clean and stylish as any hotel. read more

Never been to a buc-ee's before. This location has soooooo many gas pumps. Inside has all the stuff If you live near one I can see it being a regular stop. Fire pits, holiday gifts, prepared foods, kids clothes, toys, all the snacks. This one had wine and beer, a bakery, jerky, fudge, smoked meats. I can see why this is so popular. Their sign says their bathrooms are "world famous". Didn't know that, but I can see why they would be. Lots of parking. Now I know. That was a fun stop. read more

I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at this Buc-ee's in Springfield. I walked in to buy a high-end $400 flashlight. The only one they had was the display model, and the employee told me they could sell it to me but I should check to make sure it works since it's a display. I bought it, walked straight out to my vehicle, plugged it in, and immediately got a battery error. It wouldn't charge at all. I turned right back around and walked back inside--literally within minutes--explained the situation, and asked for a refund or exchange. The employee understood the issue but said only a manager could override it. That's when Mark, the manager, came over. Instead of actually helping, he repeated the same line: "You walked out with it, so we can't do anything." No actual troubleshooting, no flexibility, no willingness to stand behind a product they sold me off the shelf--a defective display item, no less. I even offered a solution that would've cost the store nothing: refund the difference and let me purchase the $300 version they DID have in stock. Mark still refused, hiding behind "policy" instead of using any common sense or manager-level judgment. For a store known for customer service, this was unbelievable. I wasn't trying to return something after using it--I couldn't even get it to charge 30 seconds after buying it. If this is the level of problem-solving and customer support the manager provides, I'd strongly recommend checking your items before leaving or just shopping somewhere else. Buc-ee's usually goes above and beyond, but this manager absolutely did not. read more

We also picked up several pounds of jerky. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but totally worth every penny. The flavor was outstanding, and they even let us sample before buying -- such a nice touch! One of the coolest parts was watching the staff prepare brisket right in front of us. It made the whole place feel more like a high-quality food stop than a gas station. The atmosphere was so positive and welcoming -- the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, and it rubbed off on everyone around them. I really wish there were more of these around. This is my second Buc-ee location visit, and I didn't think they could outdo Texas locations, but this Springfield location certainly does. Something that stood out as different from the Texas locations I've visited was the tortilla station, where they make tortillas in-house. We visited this location twice in a weekend. Friday afternoon: I purchased the pulled pork sandwich (always a 10/10) and multiple snacks in addition to Buc-ees merch. It was busy as expected, but quick to get what you wanted and check out. Sunday morning: I thought Friday was as busy as it could get, but boy, was I wrong It was still quick to get through the check-out line, but it seemed like all of Springfield was visiting. I purchased the egg and bacon breakfast burrito, and holy moly, it was incredible. It was one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. The tots were also great! Many people rave about the food, but it's understandable if you're hesitant about gas station food. This shouldn't be categorized as such, though, as it's in a league of its own. I walked in to see what all the hype was about and was amazed at the crowds. There is Buc-ee's everything available. We walked through all the clothing, the kitchen items and the food area. We didn't take a shopping cart, but soon realized we would be picking up some fun things. The food prep area was very busy and the pulled pork sandwiches looked amazing. I've only been to one other Bucc-ee's (in Georgia on the way to Florida) so I was excited to be traveling through a city with one. This location is HUGE. I don't remember the exact number of pumps, but on the side we were on it was between 60-70. They also have a dog park outside and a little pond with a walking path around it. The inside was as spectacular as the first location I visited. Bathrooms are spotless, just as advertised on their many billboards. Huge variety drinks and food, including $1 bottles of 20oz water. I also bought a pulled pork sandwich for $7.48, and my husband got a chopped brisket sandwich. Because we don't have a Bucc-ee's locally I also decided to purchase some items from their souvenir shop. I got a t-shirt, a beanie, and a silipint cup all with the famous beaver on them. What's not to love about Buc-ee's, especially as they continue their expansion out of their home state of Texas. This Buc-ee's is along I-44 and is easily accessible with good signage and a massive parking lot. While campers and RVs are allowed, bobtails are not. "Welcome to Buc-ee's!" Inside, barbecue, candied nuts, fudge, cookies, jerky, a huge selection of drinks and coffee, a store selling all sorts of of clothing and decor. You can get Buc-ee's Nuggets in a variety of flavors. And you will find their restroom to be super clean and properly stocked. The gas pump area is clean and huge. 200 pumps? I can't imagine the size of the underground tanks that feed this massive installation. Please don't leave your vehicle at the pump while you go inside to shop!
