But this is a rental property. There are elderly people in the home as well as people who work from home. The person texting me was apologetic. My biggest concern on communication were when fees increased or new fees needed to be paid. PFR had to order additional material which was not expected or disclosed it might be needed in the original contract. I noticed when they sent me the bill. Had I not looked over my bill in detail I would not have known about the additional cost. I spoke to the owner who apologized and gave me a discount. My last bill had an additional fee for a special inspection. Again I was not notified about this additional fee. While this special inspection possibility was disclosed no one told me it had happened. Therefore I had to scramble to get the extra $825 to pay PFR. I should have known about this charge the moment it happened so I could plan accordingly. Those were the main hiccups. Other than that the process was great. It took awhile because of unforseen material that needed to be ordered. The whole process took about 7 months. Which I suspected it would because we were dealing with LA County for permits. The work they did looks great! I am very happy with their work. Everyone was very helpful and nice when I spoke to them, apologetic for the mishaps. The tenants say all the workers were nice and respectful.

After pointing out the areas of concern to him, Ken offered a couple non-serious possibilities for the phenomenon, and was able to assure me there was no threat to either the structural integrity of the house or the cement slab foundation - and pretty much bottom-lined it, saying there's really nothing to worry about. I really appreciated Ken's easy-going demeanor, and sensed zero interest in him trying to sell me a repair service that wasn't needed. Ken is just an honest guy offering his experienced opinion - in no doubt, putting yet another homeowners' unwarranted concerns to rest. Would be nice If all companies sent inspectors who operated the same way as Ken.

Furthermore, Shawn and his crew were courteous, pleasant people, very respectful of my home and property, leaving the materials on site neat and stowed each day. These days, you're lucky if a contractor shows up, much less does what he says he's going to do. Haven went the extra mile to do everything just right. They maintained ongoing communication with us, and made an effort to please us at every turn. Speaking of going the extra mile, Shawn noticed me struggling with some stubborn roots in my garden and interrupted his well-deserved 15-minute lunch break to fetch a power tool that made ready work of what might have taken me hours. There was continuous and steady progress, and I usually was invited over each week to check on the progress of work. The project was well timed. The initial estimate was for around 5 months. It ended up taking 5 months and 3 weeks. The small delay was due to city permitting back-and-forth and weather, which all seemed understandable. The cost estimate was also quite accurate. We only went less-than-10% over, and generally due to things that we decided to upgrade partway through, or issues we discovered only after tearing open the walls. They also had a one year warranty on issues with the work, which they have honored with no hassle. Ultimately the company acts with integrity, and in this industry that's saying a lot.

I called one pest control company and they referred me to Recon Pest Control and told me recon uses better chemicals for my situation. So I call em and they send Tyler right out-no waiting. He knocks down spider webs, thoroughly sprays everywhere, problem solved. So then a month goes by and he returns to spray again but then we get hit with another crazy hot, triple digit heat wave and I find a few ants in my office again. Tyler comes right back and resprays the entire property a second time. Since then I haven't seen a bug in or around the house once. I usually see something, often around the pool area but nada. Even the dog's food bowls are left alone. After replacing the tile on my roof, some rats found their way into my attic. We'd hear their mating ritual echoing through the walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Called Recon and they sent Ryan out to set traps and seal the entry points. Problem solved instantly...subsequent inspections showed no sign of rodentia in our home. Insects and rodents...I don't mind them when camping in the backcountry but hate em around my home. Recon is the fast & affordable solution. My advice? Next time Mother Nature bugs you call the TERMINATORS at Recon Pest Control. They set the customer care bar so high other exterminators need to charter a plane just to see it. Thanks Recon, you're the best!

Reached out (via Yelp) to several exterminators regarding having a wasp/hornet nest removed -…read moreincluding all the pertinent details. Recon responded promptly. Based on the details I provided, they quoted a (reasonable) service price in the first (human) email. They were the ONLY provider that did that (quote in the first human email). So, they got the job, and I scheduled service with them. They provided a 4-hour window estimated for when they would arrive. They arrived well within that window, and inspected the situation. In addition to the primary nest I specified, they identified four (4) others I had not noticed. They quickly eliminated all five (5) nests, and sprayed the area two (2) them had been located-in (lower eaves, close to high-traffic ares) to discourage wasps from returning there and rebuilding later. The whole thing was over in like 15-20 minutes. There was no extra surpise charges for the additional nests, etc. I will definately be keeping them in mind for any future needs.

Very unprofessional and disrespectful to keep someone waiting for a month and never return their phone calls. At least have the decency to let them know what is going on.
