Backyard deck

Best experience working with Cameron and Brian. They were so precise. We just had our deck put in and it turned out amazing. They were so professional and respectful. If you want a deck put in this is the place to go. OC deck and patio. You are amazing.

OC Deck & Patio helped us with our final phase of an extensive renovation. We needed cable railing for a large terrace created by new retaining walls that replaced our huge old deck. Cameron helped us customize affordable cable railing options that also met the specifications required by the City. Really appreciated his assistance with obtaining the permit to surface mount 153 linear feet of cable railing along the perimeter our new paver area. Brian & Jorge were very meticulous in planning, drilling & mounting the posts. The installation also required custom corners and a custom gate with careful consideration given to each element of the overall project. We also love the harmonious incorporation of matching LED accent lights on posts which really enhances the overall aesthetics at night. In addition, OC Deck & Patio installed 53 linear feet of 1/2" glass windwall in the adjacent backyard. It was important that the height of the glass wall exactly match the height of the cable railing & it was absolutely perfect! Their professionalism & expertise was evident in their approach to every aspect of the job. We were most impressed with the way Cameron & Brian always found viable solutions for everything that needed to be addressed during the installation. Appreciated the attention to detail & we were incredibly happy with the final product that enhances our beautiful view.

Deck replacement and updated to include stairs, lighting and new size.

Cameron has renewed our faith in contractors. His bid was the best provided, always kept us informed on timing and always on time, checks in to ensure everything is going well and if we have any questions. Gave us a start date and an end, which where met. Our deck is awesome and exceeded our expectations. His team led by Brian is excellent.

Just like in Snow White. Or a Hitchcock movie.

Quick summary for those of you on Ritalin: Finished product: 5 Timeliness: 4 Communication: 4 Value: 5 We purchased a home in San Clemente that was built in 1986. It came with a deck overlooking a lovely little canyon filled with life (I call it "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom"). But the deck itself... yuck. Hated it from day one. So after the windows, and the air conditioning, and the floors: it was deck time. As these things go, it was a fairly routine job: we were replacing everything from the floor of the deck upwards. No major changes to the support structure (though in the event a few the aging bits of lumber did need to be replaced). No change to the footprint. We collected several quotes; OC Deck & Patio came in lowest (although I caution that contractor quotes sometimes include apples and sometimes oranges, and you want to be careful about relying on the bottom line only). Contracts signed! Ready, set... wait. The City of San Clemente, for reasons that surpass understanding, dragged out the permitting process on this simple project, requiring, inter alia, full diagrams of *our entire property*. Cameron at OCD&P managed that process for us; at the end of the day, I believe he handled it as well anybody could have done. The costs of dealing with the permitting did come out to be more than I would have wanted or expected, but that's on the city. The demolition takes a couple of days, the material for the deck begins to arrive, construction begins... and boom! Covid. After the initial few weeks of the lockdown, however, we were able to resume. The workers masked up and stayed outside, which was a shame because I'd enjoyed bothering them--I mean, chatting with them--while they worked. But the work did continue. Sure, there were interruptions, and delays, and miscommunications. Nothing too serious, and most of it was the result of the quarantine (a certain kind of nail suddenly became precious, for example). But there was no point at which I was reluctant to pay one of the milestone fees we'd set up in the contract. Most importantly: we are extremely happy with the result. The deck looks great, it feels solid, and songbirds occasionally line up along the cables, making me feel like Snow White (which as a middle-aged father of two I am totally secure enough to admit ). Look at the pics and see if you agree. Thanks for reading! I hope you found this review helpful. If so, I've written some others you might enjoy. Check them out--it's not like you're doing anything else right now.

Great service Great price…read moreQuality was perfect Paid cash got a discount Needed a patio that served a purpose and that's exactly what we got

However, the way this company has handled a clear mistake is extremely disappointing. During installation, their team drilled into the tile on our second-floor balcony and failed to seal the holes. When it rained shortly after, water came through those openings and caused damage to the ceiling in our dining room below. This was entirely preventable and directly tied to the installation. What's more concerning is what happened next. I've spent weeks trying to get this resolved. I've been in contact with their employee (Elizabeth), who acknowledged the issue and repeatedly said it would be taken care of. Despite those assurances, there has been zero follow-through. Communication has been inconsistent at best, and more recently I've been completely ignored. At this point, the issue is no longer just the damage; it's the lack of accountability. Mistakes happen. Ignoring a customer after causing property damage is a much bigger problem. If you're considering this company, just be aware: the install may go well, but if something goes wrong, you may be on your own. I'm still hoping they step up and resolve this properly, but based on my experience so far, I would proceed with caution.
