    Tuna crispy rice
    Alex B.

Wow! Such a great experience, my family and I were visiting from SD and a friend recommended this charming little spot and I see why. Every single food item was delicious. Started with tuna crispy rice which was bomb, the fish sandwich was nice and light, the sushi super flavorful, and the gazpacho was, idek just so freaking good. Oh my gosh and the Banana cream pie! SO yummy! Samatha was helping us out and she's wonderful! She knew we were going to love the desert because although only 2 of us had the room for it, she brought enough forks for the table and boy did ALL of us eat it. She was super nice and personable, and gave us great recommendations all around. Our water never went empty, our finished plates never sat too long, and just SO on top of things. Thank you again Samantha! Overall great food, and excellent service. If I'm ever back in Scottsdale I'll for sure be back! :)

An early arrival is a must for dining at Buck/Rider (especially during season). I schedule calls to end by 3pm so I can grab a seat! We had a couple of Rose's and Happy Hour Smoked Trout Dip, followed by Fish & Chips, all tasty. Attentive service from Amanda at the bar, and host Max was wiping down empty bar spaces which is comforting. Solid Happy Hour and dining w a casual yet upscale atmosphere.

An exceptional meal from start to finish! We were there to celebrate my husband and they definitely made us feel special. But what I really appreciated were 1) an extensive kids menu with coloring - as a foodie parent with a toddler it's rare to find a place with amazing food for us, and for our kiddo. Bravo! And 2) the food, did I mention the food? It's some of the best we have had in the Valley! We ordered some mocktails, oysters sushi, tuna crispy rice, shrimp & crab gazpacho, bread, grilled fish w/ broccolini and dessert (note that it wasn't complimentary for our special occasion, but they did bring out some macarons on the house which was nice). There isn't a single thing I wouldn't get again. It was a very popular and fun place to be!

It's my second time back and I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. Of course this place and location is popular, that's a given. For any who haven't dined here yet, expect a wait and crowds. I do like the ambiance inside, it has a nice vibe and the outdoor patio area is inviting and cozy. Our server was working very hard and was nice and helpful to the extent they could be. They also helped me with picking between 3 entrees and I was happy with the one I picked. While the pasta dish was delicious I will say the portion sizes for the cost leave me disappointed each time. Since it's so busy, the restaurant staff is super stretched. Kudos to them for all their hard work. With that being said, there's improvements that can be made since the orders at the table got mixed up, weren't prepared at the same time and drinks were forgotten. The final bill was also messed up as well. Overall, if you know what you're getting and you're prepared for the popularity and elevated menu, you'll get what you're seeking.

We went to Buck & Rider for their 10th Anniversary Oyster Day and had a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but decided to take our chances and see if we could grab seats at the bar for happy hour. They weren't taking any more table reservations for the evening, but they added our name to the waitlist for bar seating and quoted us about an hour. We left to run a quick errand and returned just in time to be seated. The atmosphere was lively with live music, $2 oysters, drink specials all night, and their regular happy hour menu. We ordered a dozen oysters, ceviche, trout dip, tuna crispy rice (not on happy hour, but it's too good to pass up) and wine. Everything was fresh and delicious, just what we've come to expect from Buck & Rider. Even with the restaurant packed, the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The only unusual part of the evening happened before we even walked in. There was a woman passed out in the bushes outside covered in vomit. We mentioned it to the hostess when we checked in, and she let us know they were already aware of the situation and were handling it. Obviously, that's not something the restaurant can control, and it's definitely not something we've ever seen outside Buck & Rider before. Overall, it was another great visit. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were excellent, and Oyster Day is definitely worth checking out if you're an oyster lover.

One of my favorite locations! It's bigger than the one on camelback (or maybe it just feels bigger). They have great outdoor seating with misters, indoor seating, bar seating and a sushi type bar seating. They offer complimentary parking as all location do. The service at any location is excellent. I'm a regular at this location and camelback. I want to give a huge shoutout to Stephanie. She was a phenomenal waitress. She knew I popped by for happy hour and was on a time crunch. She made sure everything went speedy so I could eat and go! Constantly checking on my water as I was pounding that water down. Her overall energy made me feel so welcomed and taken care of even though I was in a rush. I had plenty of time to enjoy. Now the food: if you've been to Buck & Rider you already know how amazing it is. If you've havent been, it's an absolute MUST! Everything here is so good and FRESH! A few of my favorite dishes I order every time are: - trout dip (if you eat it how the chef intends. Cracker, dip, a radish slice, hot sauce. All the flavors together are one of a kind. - fried rice - ceviche - crispy rice Again, you can't go wrong!

The only setback was sitting outside in 100+ weather. Other than that the I got the steak and green beans. It was very tasteful. The service was spot on and everyone liked their meals. If you go order the oysters and fish!

Before I say anything specific, lemme tell you... the food, the service, everything was FANTASTIC! Waitress: Shire Party of 3 This amazing restaurant was a fantastic way for my family and I to end our most recent trip to Scottsdale Arizona. We came here based on a suggestion from someone who works at the resort that we were staying at. I cannot tell you how perfect this experience was. The recommendation was probably hands-down the best one they could've given us. B&R had something for all of us to enjoy. I was a bit concerned that my young-ish kiddo would not find something on the menu that would be appealing. I spoke to one of the hostesses at the front of the restaurant about my concern. That is when she let me know that there was a separate kids menu, but also that, essentially anything that we needed, they were pretty confident that the kitchen could figure out. Crazy, but even at as nice and as pricey, a restaurant as this, children's menu, meal items were only about $10-$12 each. I was shocked. Even more impressed, I found items like California rolls and smaller portion steak on the kids menu. Awesome!!! The ambience of the restaurant was perfect. It was dimly lit, but not dark. It was romantic, but somehow still dressy casual if you will. The entrance is beautiful and shows off their patio. I had the most delicious ribeye while my husband had fresh, raw oysters, as well as another entrée that I really didn't pay attention to because I was so engrossed in my own meal. Oopsies. LOL! My kiddo loved their California roll. It also came with a small side of strawberries. That was perfect. We ended up also ordering the small portion of steak for them. An entire morning at the aquarium, followed by an afternoon full of swimming, we had all worked up quite an appetite. They offered us a doggy bag, but once they realize that there were no leftovers on the table, we all had a good laugh, but looked at each other sideways when someone asked us if we were interested in dessert. There was no way. We were all so stuffed and we were so content. I don't quite know how we managed, but we waddled to our car and made our way back to the resort. The entire time, we talked about how fabulous our server was and how fabulous her suggestions were. We also talked about how phenomenal our food was and just how wonderful and experienced the whole night had been at Buck & Rider. My kiddo tried their first raw oyster here. I thought that was pretty amazing. I knew it must've been good since they asked for another shortly after. This is definitely a restaurant that I will suggest to people if ever they ask me for a good dining experience recommendation in Arizona. Dinner was a tad pricey, but considering we were on vacation and we were celebrating our being together as a family and having had such an amazing time in Arizona, it was worth every penny and then some. Our server was so awesome. She had a short chat with my kiddo. She showed us some of her tattoos on her arm. It was just a really nice time. It was easy for us to build rapport with our server. That was another thing that made the dining experience even more fun. Geez, I wish this restaurant were closer to home. Would I come here again? You don't even need to ask. I'll meet you there. Party of how many? Let's go. Yes, now!

Another one! (In DJ Khaled voice) Great ambiance, great staff, great food! I tried oysters for the first time. Not my thang, but hey I tried it! Anyway, I had the Chilean Bass grilled with a herb sauce, beets, and green beans. It hit the spot! I enjoyed it a lot. The restaurant was quite cozy and had a real chill vibe! Our waiter was also pretty chill. This spot is one to visit for sure!

My favorite spot! We've been coming to Buck & Rider for years and it always hits. From special occasions to brunch with my bestie, it really checks all the boxes. The ambiance is amazing, beautiful florals, greens, a sweet shutter board that you can personalize in advance with your reservation, it's just the best. The seafood is so fresh and the steaks are delectable. I visited for brunch a few weekends ago and it was so perfect. I can't wait to go back.

The birthday girl picked Buck & Rider Scottsdale having been there twice before for their happy hour. I reserved a table using their Priority Seating Reservations and our party was seated within minutes of arriving. This place lived up to the hype with its fresh catch flown in daily, high-energy atmosphere, and attentive service. It's an ideal setting for casual lunches, celebratory dinners, or group gatherings. I suggest you add Buck & Rider to your need to try list.

Another great visit with wonderful food and service. This time we looked at the brunch menu and decided on Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfect on spinach and crab cakes and topped with hollandaise sauce. As usual the crab cakes were ALL CRAB. ( no filler) ). A perfect brunch item! Oh YUM. WALLY AND LIZ.

What an amazing evening, beautifully curated with so many thoughtful details. Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

It was pretty good but certainly not worth the titular pretty penny price--and we didn't even get…read morethe recommended 8 dishes, which is, like, the entire menu. To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
